ID.me simplifies how individuals prove and share their identity online. The ID.me secure digital identity network has over 98 million members, as well as partnerships with 30 states, 10 federal agencies, and over 500 name-brand retailers.
The company provides identity proofing, authentication and community verification for organizations across sectors. The company's technology meets the federal standards for consumer authentication and is approved as a NIST 800-63-3 IAL2 / AAL2 conformant credential service provider by the Kantara Initiative. ID.me's Identity Gateway also has a Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) Moderate Authority to Operate (ATO). ID.me is the only provider with video chat and is committed to "No Identity Left Behind" to enable all people to have a secure digital identity.
The company has garnered a mixed reputation, with notable strengths in its identity verification service, which many users found secure and efficient, particularly praising the helpfulness of customer service during video calls. However, significant concerns were raised regarding the complexity of the verification process, which some customers found frustrating and time-consuming, particularly older users or those with unique identification issues. Additionally, delays and technical difficulties, including issues with document acceptance and login credentials, have led to dissatisfaction among several users. Overall, while the service is valued for its security, improvements in user experience and support are essential.

Good experience and success in your management, thank you.
This was a terrible experience, because after all that hassle, I still don't know if I completed the process. That seems like such an easy thing for an online program to verify either way. Oh, and when they say your last name is private, what they really mean is that some of your surname will be shown publicly. That is NOT the same thing as excluding it; that is a misleding use of the term 'private.' You can't give partial information for something private; the natural understanding is that NO information about that aspect will be shared publicly. Not a good look when an ID verification site fools you about the information it will keep "private."
I pissed away much much time in navigating this very crappy website
I had previously made an account, that I do not recollect making and it was such a hassle having to contact customer service to help. It took almost a week, a lot of emails back and forth, and uploading of documents to still get denied more than once because it kept rejecting my identity. I emailed CS more than I wanted to explaining to them about my frustration and having a duplicate account that I didn't recollect making and it felt like no one was reading my emails thoroughly because I just kept getting sent back to customer service. I didn't want to have to use ID.ME but I had to since government websites require their usage now. Otherwise I would've just not used ID.ME. My issue did finally get resolved after I sent another email out to customer service but it took longer than it should've.
It seems, at least to me, ID.me is more interested in gathering endless Personal information and data, than providing serious internet security and protection. They just keep asking for more and more? Is all this data collection really necessary? Are they using it to protect us? What are they really using it for? How safe is all this data we are giving to them?
I was able to get verified fast, get to my ID.me and get done what I needed.
Easy to use and good savings and discounts. First time ever use
Made it easy to be identified and to login, don't have anything else to say.
I failed at protecting myself. I was so determined to complete this Government application and get through this obstacle of verifying my identity with ID.me. If not for the determination, detailed instructions, gentle prodding, team effort, of their customer support personnel, I probably, no, defiantly would have put myself in a position of becoming a victim of Identity Theft. I come to realize how important and how difficult a task must be for ID.me (as a Company). So please, help ID.me, help You, in protecting You.
First time using my cell phone for biometric information. Failed on first try but succeeded on the second.
To get my ANCHOR benefit i had to go to the tax office today in Trenton, as my husband has passed and he had moved tax documents. Our accountant had recently retired, so to get the info i needed to get ifrom the IRS. ID me made this possible and secure
Tried to get to the IRS website but ID.me is glitchy and clunky. Once you go through the hassle of uploading the documents it says you can go back to the IRS website but nope. I got redirected back again to ID.me to verify documentation for a 2nd time. It just looped ID.me and never allowed me to get to the IRS website.
All was good. Personnel were great! I am old school; needed assistance.
We have to learn to scan and use cell. Can get confusing, but that is our problem. Must keep up with times. Thank you!
The login process was easy and fast. All it took was a simple.
It took me three days to complete the process on ID ME.
The wait time was very long and would reset and start over and then loose connection and you had to start over again over and over again.
Good format, everything you need to assist you threw the process, very helpful information and I had no problem starting and completing what I had to complete, with your help, good program
When I first had to sign up for getting a new passport in the spring, I didn't understand what it was doing or how it would be used. I had tried the "third option" for social security a year earlier and ended up making a mess and finally getting back to my old way of signing in. After renewing the passport, I had occasion as treasurer of a small organization to use it to submit a report to the IRS. I followed the directions and it was easy peasy! Then today I had occasion to sign in to SSA again and chose ID.me with confidence. It is a little slow and a notice to please wait would be appreciated but other than that, easy peasy again. No second level verification text or email. More information about changes like this upfront would help people to understand what is going on and the benefit in the future. Anytime it is offered to me in the future, I will accept it.
