ID.me simplifies how individuals prove and share their identity online. The ID.me secure digital identity network has over 98 million members, as well as partnerships with 30 states, 10 federal agencies, and over 500 name-brand retailers.
The company provides identity proofing, authentication and community verification for organizations across sectors. The company's technology meets the federal standards for consumer authentication and is approved as a NIST 800-63-3 IAL2 / AAL2 conformant credential service provider by the Kantara Initiative. ID.me's Identity Gateway also has a Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) Moderate Authority to Operate (ATO). ID.me is the only provider with video chat and is committed to "No Identity Left Behind" to enable all people to have a secure digital identity.
The company has garnered a mixed reputation, with notable strengths in its identity verification service, which many users found secure and efficient, particularly praising the helpfulness of customer service during video calls. However, significant concerns were raised regarding the complexity of the verification process, which some customers found frustrating and time-consuming, particularly older users or those with unique identification issues. Additionally, delays and technical difficulties, including issues with document acceptance and login credentials, have led to dissatisfaction among several users. Overall, while the service is valued for its security, improvements in user experience and support are essential.

Ok. Some errors happened, had to retry a few times. But went good. Get ready and read instructions. Gather info to upload if needed.
I have given you enough of my time, thank you. I found it to be confusing and taking too much of my valuable time.
I am entitled to US social security benefits, but am not a US citizen nor am I resident in US. I was able to successfully set up an online mySSA account by first setting up an ID.me account. ID.me allowed me to use my international mobile phone number to receive 2-factor verification texts, use my foreign residential address for document review of a bank statement, and use my foreign passport for photo ID verification. The video call with ID.me agent was easy and she clearly explained the what was required and the next steps. I now have an online mySSA account and no longer have to rely on the postal service which was literally taking months for mail between my country and US during COVID pandemic.
I don't know if I am the only one but it had me repetitively input my information 3-4 time then the whole process was complete it signed me out of the account where it asoed me to complete the entire process all over again felt like someone JABBING me in the side with a no.2 pencil.
I got laid off this week. Decided to apply for edd benefits. The process was very simple and secure using I.d.
I had over 20 valid documents to choose from and I'd and me would not except any combination of them.
The initial verification process takes a little bit of time, however with all the Data security issues going on, breaches etc., I feel like ID.me is or seems to be a great way to login directly quickly and know that my account is secure. As far as I can tell it's virtually impossible for any impostors to get into my account because of ID.me. Before, pretty much it was just a password and you know that's how those bad guys get into peoples' accounts and steal Data.
I'm 72. It was assumed that I knew how to do a whole host of very technical (to me) things on my cell phone and computer. (I did not.) I spent over an hour watching youtube videos trying to learn how to do things on my phone. When I finally got the first verification done I was appalled to get a message saying they could not verify my license photo and I would have to do a video chat/conference, whatever it is called. It was assumed that I had the equipment to do a video chat (proper name?) and that I knew how to do it. I did not. I had to obtain a camera and microphone and learn how to configure them on my pc, more youtube videos. Roughly another hour learning. The wait times were abominable. Roughly 1/2 hour for IDme to pop up a screen telling me the representative would be on in 15 minutes, which stretched into more like an hour.
I'm very excited by using this ID method and every way to verify
The old action hurry up and wait works well with this company's site. But once the process is done it works perfectly as far as I can tell. I use it every day or every other day. It works well once the process is done.
My experience was definitely a 5/5 Star Rating, however due to having Epilepsy and having the ID ME, flash during scans I was not able to scan right away. The app repeatedly kept saying I wasn't close enough, but that was due to me squinting and pushing the phone away from the flashes. Eventually I got it, but that is what drove me to leave a 4/5.
The experience was good the instructions were good. I was afraid of the download but only had to take the picture which was simple. I only had one problem. I didn't see where the amount could be edited. Please include instructions on if you wanted to pay a different amount
I always choose ID.me for verification of who I am over all others because I feel they are more thorough and trustworthy, and quick.
Simpler to access many important sites. Only one password to remember.
