ID.me simplifies how individuals prove and share their identity online. The ID.me secure digital identity network has over 98 million members, as well as partnerships with 30 states, 10 federal agencies, and over 500 name-brand retailers.
The company provides identity proofing, authentication and community verification for organizations across sectors. The company's technology meets the federal standards for consumer authentication and is approved as a NIST 800-63-3 IAL2 / AAL2 conformant credential service provider by the Kantara Initiative. ID.me's Identity Gateway also has a Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) Moderate Authority to Operate (ATO). ID.me is the only provider with video chat and is committed to "No Identity Left Behind" to enable all people to have a secure digital identity.
The company has garnered a mixed reputation, with notable strengths in its identity verification service, which many users found secure and efficient, particularly praising the helpfulness of customer service during video calls. However, significant concerns were raised regarding the complexity of the verification process, which some customers found frustrating and time-consuming, particularly older users or those with unique identification issues. Additionally, delays and technical difficulties, including issues with document acceptance and login credentials, have led to dissatisfaction among several users. Overall, while the service is valued for its security, improvements in user experience and support are essential.

As I was forced to use this ridiculous method of alleged online identification, it suddenly became clear to me how the data being collected was actually going to be used. Why would we "all the sudden" need a new facial recognition system that is matched to our government issued identification cards to be used solely for accessing some obscure data logged on a government website? Is our government "all the sudden" so concerned about our online safety and our possible data records breach that we just now need a full biometric collection of facial data to match with our id cards to keep us safe from online predators? Where have they been for the past 25 years? I think not, friends. This is a data grab that's being used to feed the AI algorithms that are being built to help them create a police state like is being done in China. They want to control our every step, thought, and word spoken so as to control the narrative. Then if anyone speaks out or does something deemed to be against the Premier, then they can immediately be silenced, their money be frozen, and their property be seized. It's all about control. They are forcing us to do it friends. Think about it. Why would they need to spend the millions of dollars this is going to cost just to protect some old and inconsequential documents that no one could give a fudge about? Well it's either that or somebody has concocted this plan to pad their pockets with cash from the taxpayer. Or maybe we do need another unnecessary and illogical, nonsensical, wrapped in bureaucracy and seemingly endless supply of manure system to access our own personal records from a government who has continually robbed us until we are at the point of near societal collapse. Maybe. I still can't decide which one makes less sense.
After you set up your account signing into your accounts are safe, and fast.
IDme does provide efficiency of access to some government services, but lately they've been trying to sell me on deals and savings and other things that feel like the electronic version of Money Mailer coupons. I dislike being reminded that we live in a corporatocracy.
They were unable to verify my ID via facial recognition because I was in an office with lot's of light. However, they have a human come on who was able to get theprocess done. Thank you ID.me
Random account suspension. No explanation. No support via phone, chat, or otherwise. The only thing that got their attention was me posting my experience all over their LinkedIn page. Otherwise, as other people's experience shows, al supportl tickets go into a black hole.
My suspicion is that, given their secrecy about this incident, it's ID.me themselves who had a large, personal, SPI data leak. But of course, they will neve acknowledge it in public.
I had great experience both in ID verification and using commercial services for certain programs, like discounts or access to services. As a veteran, I am very happy with promptness and reliability. Customer support resolved my issues very professionally.
Pretty easy to do but not sure if I have been a approved yet or not
I already had ID me with the VA. Nevertheless, I had to go through the rig-a-more of uploading. Then it was not approved. Then I had to video chat where I had to re-upload. During the video chat, I had to present the uploaded stuff again.
Frustrating. The VA person that helped was very helpful. If it hadn't been for her I never would have figured it out. She was frustrated as well. Not at me, but at the ridiculous unnecessary detail.
I am a college graduate and was a pilot in the Air Force... flew over 200 combat missions in Viet Nam. Please, I am not bragging, just making a point. I am used to complicated challenging projects, but this so called "Secure Messaging" is absolutely unnecessary.
For some reason, when trying to use id.me at Spiderco, inc, I had to go through the complete id.me process again... not sure why, kind of annoying...
After a couple of mistakes i made, i regrouped and was able to follow each step, i placed my VA ID Card and Drivers ID on white sheet of paper took the photos and clicked submit, and just lucky i was verified to use the ID Me web site.
Excellent way of saving, for any amazing teacher out there I highly recommend to register and join the extraordinary deals ID.me offers with all of the cool items we all like and best deals from our favorite stores. Check it out!
Please, I need someone from ID.me to call me at *******516, the reason is when I go to my social security website the ID.me request a code but the phone that the code is sent is my wife phone, I need to correct this, instead of my wife phone should be my phone to validated the code.
Se debe tomar su tiempo para que el proceso sea bien
My experience was ok except for the video call. I was talked through step by step which was really needed to make contact with the receiver on the other end.
After enduring multiple entries of requested personal information, an upload of my passport, and a facial scan, at the very end I was informed that there was an error with the ID.me app and to try again. I did try again with the same outcome. Not a positive experience!
I was dreading doing this only because I always have trouble setting things up on the internet and get very frustrated But her I had no problems
Easy process, doesn't take long to do. Needed to verify my identity to receive my stimulus
I told you specifically why you SUCK!
I WILL NOT REPEAT MYSELF
Program sucks. Process sucks. Confusing and useless
An extension of govt incompetence
