Had 16 text and unable to upload, then had to do upload in person then await 7 more days to verify still don't have access and will still have to do this all over. Poor cs and no cs worst ever... i have been verified with va. Before, tsa, california real id and dod id. And this was the worst and slowest process... don't use ID.me it is not worth the pain and trouble..
I tried the self service option because they provide an option to have the biometric data removed afterwards but even though I had great lighting for the photos and video selfie and also had a high quality camera, their self service didn't work. They then forced a video chat call for the verification process and asked for 2 documents instead of 1 like the self service option. Why do they require only 1 document for the self service option but require 2 for the video chat call with their agent? Seems suspicious. They also force you to accept the recording of the video chat call, otherwise you can't get verified with them. After the video chat call, they don't give you an option to have the recording and documents deleted.
I had to submit my passport over 4 times and waited almost an hour each time, before I got to do a video verification, probably because I had married and retired, no longer filing income taxes so my maiden name was at IRS, even tho I had changed it with Social Security office.

It takes forever to set up. When you do get it set up, it will work well for several sign ins, until it no longer works. I always have to call in to tech support to get it working again. Today, I had a new failure. I couldn't even get to the site. Normally, I can get to the site, but I can't sign in.
If you're like me and had given up trying to log in because it was so difficult…you must try again! This process is so user friendly, and once you set it up it speeds up all your log in time.

If you are photo sensitive you may want to find an alternative way to sign up. I didn't see any warnings about being photos sensitive so either there were none or they were not obviously visible. I had seizure like symptoms and a migraine followed after ID me scanned my face.
There were flashing lights, and because it did not recognize all of my features, I had to keep change, lighting and trying again. After a total of three attempts, it finally went in, but all of the light flashing caused me to have medical issues.
