I just set up access to my IRS account online with ID.me. The website was clear and easy to understand. I had received a suspected spam saying I had a refund. I didn't click on it, but did want to check if possibly I Did have a refund. I don't. I'm glad to learn about the website. I use an accountant, so usually just ask her. But it is good to be able to have direct access.

I have been trying for almost 3 months (May 2022), to correct a technical mistake with the website, because I am unable to receive any emails from this website, in spite of everything I have done.
This is important because I've been trying for almost 3 months, to verify my identity so I can receive state benefits in the form of unemployment.
They are absolutely the most awful company I have ever dealt with. Someone said it better, "a bunch of robots & a bunch of predictable generic answers and articles and not a person you can speak to about the stuff that falls in between".
It's been beyond exasperating. A company who does 73 million in business but doesn't have a customer service department worthy of any star. What is a person to do? The online customer service group is simply atrocious, non existent and useless to be honest.
Trying to find alternate way to get verified because waiting for these guys is crazy stupid and a waste of my time. Thanks a lot for nothing ID.me. You're screwing me out of much needed unemployment assistance. Ugh

It's been a few weeks now, so this won't be lengthy. I had trouble getting into my account and the lady representative helping, was the kindest soul, so patient and stayed with me on the phone until problem was resolved. She even stayed on the phone to make sure I could still log back on with the current new problem resolution. Very helpful for the non tech that I am.

I had tried to submit my claim strictly online but I was unable to complete the ID me portion to be able to access my application when I couldn't do that and I submitted the information required for a video call the process went smoothly I was able to upload my documents easily the site that you're directed to gives you a countdown which is great it keeps you updated on what's going on on your call and the representative was really friendly and helpful the hardest part was figuring where to hold the card in front of my face so that she could ID me! LOL

I had a problem initially following the prompts to take pictures because I didn't allow permissions for my browser to access my camera. I did have a live webcam interview with a wonderful representative who was based in Massachusetts who was very helpful, patient and knowledgeable.
