The VA for some reason went with outside vendors for access the myhealthvet web site. The site had worked pretty well for at least last 15 years I used it. The site needed some updates but was fairly easy to navigate. Communication with providers, reorder scripts, all pretty easy. Now you have update info THE VA ALREADY HAS ON FILE for you, just another vendor to pay, and another place (outside the VA) that has all your information. WHY? I only went ahead did the uploads because I use that VA website several times a month. I found that uploading the info was tedious at best, had to upload docs a couple of times to get them to take. Then after competition, the VA site tells me I have to complete two more items... BTW the same items I just uploaded. It takes twice as long to sign into the VA website and get to section I need to go, and I have extremely fast internet...and the appointment detail doesn't even give you the name of the provider. I have several providers, five I think, and they are not all in the same clinic.

I was extremely glad to experience the ID.me document upload and verification process. I felt secure knowing that my personal items were uploaded to a private portal and were reviewed by someone reputable in the agency. At a date and time when there are potentially many scammers and people who try to steal your identity, this reassured me that the process was safe.
