I tried to check my social security account. I have a user name and a password. It wouldn't let me in. I had to wait for a verification code. I had to get another code to reset my password. Once I established a new password. I had to upload my drivers license. Then I had to take a selfie. Once that finished I had to re enter my personal information again.
The entire process to register with ID.me was complicated, convoluted, and required far too much of my time and resources to proceed and complete the process. Furthermore, the requirement to use a service such ID.me, which submits personal and private to governments and agencies, is a violation of government intrusion protections provided by the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, and data privacy policies and securities are moot and made void when surrendering personal and private information. Until we start speaking out, and not accepting and following government policies and requirements, we will continue to be violated.
You will not be able to get your taxes accepted without the information they hide. It should be extremely easy to find the necessary information. It should not be hidden when it is necessary for functionality. I had to be guided by one of their employees on the phone to be able to find where they hid the ever important pin.
Firefox doesn't work for camera interviews i.e., when ID.me agents try to verify you are what you claim you are.

Id.me should at the very least indicate to users which web browsers work on each and every operating system i.e., Linux, MacOS, Windslow (sic;-)

Worst experience ever I don't know why any company would use this app or website to do anything they have no idea what customer service is
I have been trying to reach customer service for over a week now. I can not complete my unemployment application due to an error message I receive each time I try. No response extra standard email message. Very frustrating.
If I wasn't forced into doing this due to being a veteran and needing to get into my healthy vet site there is no way I would have gone through this very confusing, frustrating process. If you don't have the capability of taking photos of needed documents then becomes even more frustrating. If you don't have a cell phone then out of luck again. I was able to upload my driver's licence 4times after taking a photo of it that many times and it kept not accepting it, too blurry. After much frustration, I lucked out and was directed to a video chat with a very nice young lady with very little wait time who was able to get me registered. Whether you like it or not you will have to get registered as the VA requires it as well as social security and other federal agencies and there is a time frame to get it done.
