ID.me suspended my account for no reason within the first 24 hours of initial setup. This was right after adding all my work and school emails and while attempting to verify with Tractor Supply… If I'm also supposed to use this service with the IRS then, as a taxpayer, I feel like they should be honoring all of their government contracts. DOGE here I come.
Went through steps and now it has me locked out unable to verify my identity with the Internal Revenue Service and it's a total inconvenience.

Repeating itself over and over to create a new password. Had to keep reloading the page to get different id codes or whatever. Finally it worked to reset my password. Then the selfie video wouldnt pick up that i was following the rules. Had to reload the page and sign back in and finally it started to work.

Entire system seemed unsafe and unsecure. And then after ALL the steps (which were EXTREMELY numerous!) the entire thing failed! I would NEVER recommend anyone to try to use this as I think it is VERY insecure and subject to hacking by both the government and outside agents. I'm SO SORRY I tried to do this and wish they would wipe ALL my data out of their system including backups and cloud savings.
I had an excellent experience setting this up - kudos to fed employees who put this together, and urge the Trump Administration to stop firing federal employees so that other can have a similarly positive experience in the future.
