It took little time to get my ssa account linked using id.me. The biggest downside was the counter for wait time for the video call was off by a lot. I almost decided to click off thinking something went wrong but thankfully I decided to wait s but longer. It paid off bc after getting on the video call it took no time to verify who I was. Make sure you have proper documents because they will ask to see them

My experience has been quite interesting. Despite of having a different address, the system was still able to identify my current address, other than what is listed on my Drivers license. Uploaded documents and verifying my education with work experience wasn't an issue at all. I definitely had a great experience.

If a user doesn't have computer skills, creating an ID.me account is nearly impossible. I worked in a public agency for many years, used computers since the early 1980s, so I think my skills are pretty good, but I could not create an account. The AI customer service chat, "Roy" was useless; went around in circles and wasted a lot if time. There's no telephone live contact. My IDs - drivers license and US Passport were rejected without an explanation. Scanned documents were not accepted. I was offered video chat help - how would somebody without computer skills or a camera do a video chat?
New Jersey agencies require ID.me, and some other states do too. Didn't check on Federal agencies. I'm sure the contract is not cheap and wrote to legislators about wasting tax dollars on this product.
Waste of time. No telephone support. No response via id.me web site customer service form. These parasites farm out support to third world countries and pay them fractions. CEO parasite contributed / lobbies Government officials to gain contracts.
They have been spamming me unsolicited daily advertising and miscatagorizing it as essential "administrative" content. They intentionally obfuscate their public/private nature, serving as the sole vendor of the IRS to handle ID theft. They require biometrics and immediately abuse your trust by holding you hostage. They offer to link you here to leave a review when giving feedback, but after detecting less than favorable content the link provided fails to connect. No offense, but they funnel reviewers to this site instead of a more ubiquitous place like google or yelp. The important 1-time chance to save a back up key to 2fa didn't copy when the copy action was confirmed. This site deleted my entire review after making me subscribe, and it further adds to the greedy pilfering of our online life by requiring an account before making your voice heard. And then they can't even respect the individual by ensuring their mindfully created comment was captured. So I had to rewrite it all again. This review started with 2 stars but after all this aggravation they lost one more.
Most of the questions and items needed to complete were at your finger tips. The items were something that most people carry on there purse or wallet for there identification.
The old method of accessing the site to check on secure messaging, reordering meds, etc. The new method is bulky and unresponsive in these same areas.
I was real tight when I did it but I was somewhat satisfied and I'm thinking about using them again in the near future
