Have your drivers license (or whatever id you choose) handy, and be prepared to go back and forth between apps (I used both my iPad and iPhone to facilitate the process. Be prepared with a dark surface to photograph your identifying document (license, etc). If you use a password app, you'll have to change it to reflect your new user id and password for using ID.me to access your I.R.S. Account. It's fairly easy, but a bit time consuming. It's worth it to hopefully prevent identity theft on your I.R.S. Account.
