My ssa1099 was at first rejected because it had my US address and not my current address in Ecuador. I could not give them a document from Ecuador with my Ecuador address that id. Me would accept. Finally, they accepted my Ecuador id with a full-color scan but it does not have my Ecuador address. Took a week to get certified.

ID. Me is a quick and easy way to access gov't websites. Recently, it has become necessary to be able to selfie authentication. This seems to be problematic if using Brave browser (which may be due to Brave's additional security), and required utilizing Chrome for my camera to interface with ID. Me. Otherwise, it was a smooth use to access the IRS website in my case.
Once you're signed into id me it's easy to sign on after that. It makes you feel secure.
