I'm old but savvy. It took a couple of tries and photos and I finally quit, but a couple of days later, was sent a notification to complete the sign in so - what the heck - I tried again and the problems that occurred earlier didn't occur again. The remainder of the process went well - just a couple of hitches on the facial recognition but resent a few times and it cleared up. Once in, access to the IRS site went quick and smooth.
