I used these services to access historical tax information through irs.gov. I was dreading using a third-party for self-identification but it was so easy to use. The technology is wild. They take a picture of your face to verify your identity along with a couple other things.

Verification is quick as long as you take good pictures that have good lighting. I tried 4 separate times, and gave up. The 5th time I tried I made sure I had a clear nice light, and it went through very fast and easy.
