I used my ID.me profile to sign in into the Social Security Administration b/c I needed quick help re a lost card to fill out a health insurance application. I was surprised and happy to discover ID.me was OPEN as it was after midnight and the person who helped me was both helpful and approachable. The entire identification process took less than 5 minutes. I'm hoping to have the same luck with the SSA!

Nerve wracking experience when attempting to sign into my secure Government account and was unable to do so unless and until I verified several very personal & confidential documents, then had a face to face verification process with a representative of ID.me who reviewed my information then required me to show front and back of these documents so he could verify my credentials.

I don't think the process for getting our documents on uploaded could have been more FRUSTRATING!
I have worked in IT for many years and this website is lousy. Since we have already waited over two hours to chat with someone I'm assuming they have closed because it's 5:30 PM our time almost.
It really is making me angry that we're probably going to have to go through more of the same tomorrow to get verified so we can get our tax refund.
