No matter how many times I try or how many different codes it generates, I'm always being told they're invalid by the site. I'm trying to use them on and I use it in the allotted time. I don't know what the deal is with the thing but it doesn't work
Account was active but I was put through the mill of having to access an agent to compare me to my previous uploaded ID. Along the way was advised to be aware of hackers. The agent who appeared had black tattoos that covered his face and neck. Although he was polite and well spoken it' a terrible look and should make one question the professionalism of a company that would allow someone with what appears to be gang tats have a sensitive position such as this where they're responsible for the security of very sensitive personal information.
I was apprehensive due the multi-step process to get an account set up and then verifying my identity.
Once I had set up an account, the process was very fluid, moving smoothly from step to step.
Quite impressive, actually. No latency and clear directions. Recommend you use the Google or Bing browser. The setup application does not appear to work with Firefox. This had me frustrated for several minutes.
I was notified that I had to talk to someone on video call i thought to myself here we go this is going to be aggravating but that was not the case at all very friendly helpful and was very quick maybe 5 minutes total great customer service
Overall I had a very good experience with ID. Me. The instructions on the website were easy to understand, clearly explained, helpful and it offers a variety of services. I used it to access federal government tax records. The hardest part for me was taking a selfie video which requires you to open the camera on your phone or your computer to record the video, I usually keep my cell phone camera disabled.
I don't really have much experience with the IRS as far as all of the burden they carry. As a taxpayer i am in the positive as far as money is concerned over the course of my life up to this point. I hope my future income increases so my contribution may be more beneficial to the people of this nation in the future. I apologize for any disruption as i am still learning to be less intraverted and more introverted in my conversational assessments. Sometimes my frustrations get in the way of productive processes. I am coming to the realization of mood swings. I may be going through menopause. Lol. ID. Me did a fine job. Thank-you
I needed to get into IRS web site so I had to identify myself and I did not have the same phone number from when I set up the account. Was happy to get thru and update all and still get on IRS website with no problem. Very pleased to have gone thru I.D. me thank you
Software malfunctions blamed on customer.
I do not appreciate a 3rd party processor demanding my personal data because some private company won a government contract. Interacting with the IRS is not exactly optional.
My problem was caused by an old previous phone number. I couldn't figure out how to solve it. The ID Me app has a video verification feature that was really easy to access and the tech verified my ID quickly. Problem solved.
Had to get help from a VA volunteer, the web site would not accept the photo of my drivers license. The passwords and second ID you have to do is way to much, if some one is going to hack your account they will be able to do it anyway. Most Veterans are to old to be able to get into these websites with out help.
There are a number of steps that you will have to take. Uploading photos of your IDs. Responding to text messages and entering a six digit code to move forward through the process. I tried to use my Linux partition and a Browser that was not cooperative. So after a couple failed attempts I booted into my Microsoft partition. No problems after that. Don't get frustrated. It is not a waste of your time to protect your security. Take a deep Breath if you feel like quitting, slow down and go step by step. I did end up using the video ID. My representative was very professional an competent. Then I received an email with verification steps. Lastly, I logged into my account that I previously created several years ago. Good Luck!
Ok. A little novel and mildly stressful. Getting pictures taken of my drivers licence has to be repeated three or four times. I has to back up several times and eventually caught on. It was a relief when the drivers licence could finally be processed.
My spirit was verifying my identity with the VA the other day. I was trying to do it online with Government. Ed if that's the correct abbreviation, but they could not verify me after I give them my birthdate my Social Security number or my address everything totally frustrating and then I thought that I remembered wait a minute ID. I will go and check them and hear without a minute of doubt I was verified within five seconds back to me was all inspiring thank you very much, Len.
Id.me seems to be a system built by amateurs. It will frustrate your efforts to accomplish anything you set out to do on their website and leave you feeling extremely uncomfortable about having shared sensitive information with a website that is so poorly built and managed. Stay away from Id.me at all costs and stick with hard copy filings!
It took forever to get through the verification process. Selfies, pictures of documents, questions, back and forth from phone to computer. After is was all done and over with, the IRS never received the information for verification and I had to call the IRS and do their verification. This was a huge waste of time. I do not recommend this service.
You have to hand over your biometric data in addition to your contact info and government documentation. Everytime. They claim it's like barely more work than setting up a password but it's not true. I hate that they've wriggled themselves into bed with essential government agencies like the IRS and established themselves as the gatekeepers to essential citizen services with no alternative means of online accessibility.
Over all the experience was successful but there were a few issues causing a resubmit regarding identification clarification ie. Lighting etc. The process allowed me to register without a visit to the local Social Security office, which was both a time saver and less hassle.
This site was quick to verify my info even though I wasn't able to provide my exact military date but still somehow they were able to verify my info 👍 and by signing up with them for a loan for tires it got me a discount which helped in a financial setback, Thank you ID.ME
Referees are extremely prompt & patient with those not all that digitally sophisticated! Let us hope the integrity of this system survives & thrives as a "work-around" for the wanton destruction of SSA ongoing caused by DOGE. Stay tuned.
Very good and so easy to understand the steps. At first I was hesitant to put my personal information but as I saw the steps it has you take it was safe and I would let my friends and family know that they can use this app without being nervous there info would be safe.
