Its a complete scam of a housing platform. You are asked to subscribe to the website only to get declined by the "advertiser" even when the property is available. There is not a substantial reason that they give while declining the prospect tenant. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time and money on a platform like this one. Good luck!
Excellent platform which offers a large choice of housing! I have never been disappointed by apartments I found via Housing Anywhere. This is definitely a really helpful website website we can trust: the secure payment system and the possibility of contacting directly the owner make things easier!
It was easy to find what I was looking for, thanks to these guys, they are just amazing. I am currently even renting out a room, thanks to them again. It's all safe and quite quick, because they work with many Universities too.
I rented out my apartment through housinganywhere.com. The platform was very easy to follow and adapt to. I rented the flat for two months where many tenants were interested. On the other hand, it was hard to find the suitable tenant which I could trust. Also, rental time spans didn't fit very well! But overall very good experience.
As an international student finding a place in Rotterdam was hard. My criteria for a new home was to be in my budget, the locations to be good preferably close to my university and last but not least to have nice room mates. I was lucky to use the service of housinganywhere.com. During the whole process of renting my place I felt secure. I knew that I can trust the company. The platform is for international students looking for a room, studio, apartment or a house or even renting out when going abroad. The only negative thing I say about the company is that it took us some time until we got in touch. To sum up, I highly recommend it! Good luck everyone :)) ))
Beware. Safer to go on Airbnb... I would steer clear of any site where you have an experience with an inaccurate listing, and if they force you to sign the lease before moving-in even though the lease states you've seen the place already and everything is fine in the listing. I had a negative experience with Housing Anywhere from the beginning: the communication was unhelpful and I have proof (before and after) that they changed the photos of a room in an apartment I booked after I moved in and complained about it being an inaccurate listing.
So useful! It is so difficult to find accommodation in Copenhagen, but it helped me a lot. Of course I can't generalize, but the secure payment system makes things much easier and avoid a high number of scams. So, you can trust in Housing anywhere.
HousingAnywhere has helped me find my current house which is in a great neighborhood and Im renting from a trusted person which I'm very grateful for! It did take a little time but it was worth the wait.
They took €1250 from me although I couldn't move in because the room literally had no lights. They were super unhelpful and just flashed their dodgy cancellation policy. Big mistake and will never use them or recommend them to anyone again!
This was really a bad experience
I fell sorry to think of dealing with them, they are against customer rights.
I had a reservation in one of Vienna apartment for a month, but it I cancel it at time of check in, because the room was not matching the size nor the provided images, the owner had the apartment key at the same time, but they still didn't refund me the money ( whole month rent). After delaying and wasting my time I have no solution neither a good customer service replay. Although I provide enough images to prove my right! They just ignore it, saying it's not enough! When I mention about the room size they also ignore my comment. Ok, what about if the key is with the owner himself which means he agreed to cancel,,,, they also ignore, so what is really the benefit of a policy if it is not been followed
I contacted them and the reassured me that a landlord was reliable so I went ahead and booked a room in an apartment. After booking I received the invoice that briefly mentioned the company that the landlord was from. When i googled this company, all i could find were negative reviews. They consisted of people not receiving their deposits back and being unable to contact the company. Also that the apartments were often in poor states with worm and mice infestations. It was commonly discussed that the landlords response time is super quick until you had booked the apartment. I decided to cancel which you have the option to do so withing 24 hours to receive the rent back with some places, but you still have to pay housing anywhere 200 euro service fee for setting you up with a bad situation.
As an international student, finding a room abroad is very stressful. But thanks to Housing Anywhere it became so easy! All information is neatly organized for you and I like the messaging system with the advertiser.
There is an extra service fee to be paid so it may not be the cheapest option, but the fees are low and for the service you get in return with the secured payment and such, it's worth it.
Long story short.
I made a booking request.
It was accepted instantly. (Had no time to cancel it)
They took my money.
A week later I ask for a refund cause I can't be at the place anymore.
They refuse and say that the advertiser is entitled to my money.
Absolute scam. They protect only the advertisers.
This is a disgraceful website. They charge you an agency fee. The agent is never contactable. They over charged me and never refunded. They told me my apartment was not available 4 days before I was to move in. They kept all deposit of 1100 euro when I had to return to Ireland due to coronavirus pandemic. Disgraceful, disreputable, unprofessional, unscrupulous, I can't find any other words to describe this agency. Students Do NOT use housing anywhere.
Bad communication between Tenants and Owners. " 2 weeks now Housinganywhere is keeping my rent! I am the Owner and I struggle between my Tenant and HousingAnywhere so that they can release my payment. They just keep saying each of them that the other one is not responding! There is no protection at all for the Owner that you will get your money!
Housing anywhere is a huge lifesaver. After being scammed on my first exchange experience, I was hesitant to go abroad again because of all the hassle and stress that finding housing in a foreign country entailed. But after a friend of mine introduced me to this platform, my interest in studying in a new and exciting place was revived. Gone was the worry that I could risk losing my money and end up with nowhere else to go in the middle of the night. The fact that Housing Anywhere would have my back at all times and would keep my money safe was a huge relief. It even made the whole apartment hunting process enjoyable!
I highly recommend this platform to anyone. Especially first-time exchange students who can be at first intimidated by the whole housing process. Trust me, with Housing Anywhere, you are in very good hands!
As a student living on a modest budget, Housing Anywhere is the best solution to my need for accomodations. It is simple to use, registration is free and there a lot of rooms and apartments to choose from. However the quality of available accomodations can range from excellent to absolutely horrible. Nevertheless, I still recommend this website to any young person starting out in another city.
This is a scam, you technically pay 25% of the rent fee which in my case was 400 euros only to learn later that they are a mediator. They just post properties on a website and then not clearly state the full payments needed to be paid. Extra charges and deposits were required at my check-in which were unclearly stated in their overall payment.
Eventually I had to pay double the amount that was mentioned initially at the booking, because of their manipulative way of stating the charges and fees in the payment overview. I tried to write them, but there was no answer! So I had to call them.
The experience was horrible, unprofessional and not transparent at all - such websites need to be put down, especially when student book through them!
I rented a room in Athens for my daughter starting in March. On the website description, it is written that the apartment is located "in the heart of a vibrant neighborhood,". It was totally misleading. We arrived in Athens and went to see the neighborhood of the apartment: Junkies, prostitutes, homeless everywhere and strange men wandering the streets. The neighborhood is totally unsafe for a young girl alone and this feeling has been confirmed by all the locals we met. I asked mid-February to cancel the booking for security reason (first rent has not yet being paid to the landlord), it has been refused: safety of young girl is not a valid reason as per the Terms & Conditions. I never received the contract from the landlord to whom I had precised in my first contact that I was looking for a safe neighborhood. I do not recommend this website: you pay one month, the website fee and no guaranty!
In the beginning everything was fine, I rented a bed in a hostel via their website for 500 eur and 150 eur adminstration fee of housinganywhere. But in fact it turned out not to be as advertised. I emailed to support, where I described the reasons and attached photos to request for refund of room renting.
After a day I got a reply that my request was being processed and it would take a maximum of 2 working days. Half a month passed, I have got neither my money nor house!

From their Terms and Conditions: Each user must independently verify the identity of his/her respective contract partner (the tenant in case of the provider or the provider in case of the tenant). HousingAnywhere.com accepts no liability for the accuracy of the user contact information entered on the platform. Also, they say they give money back within 48 hour, but it's not so simple and quick!
