I migrated our company's website over from NameCheap because of security breaching issues and because HostGator provides cleaning. It's been a over a year and when it renewed, our entire website and email was down because they didn't make sure to switch our email over to their host as well. When we told them about it they said email wasn't paid for. So we asked for the bill. They said there was no bill. So we said "Create one!" They said they couldn't. Finally, it all got taken care of. Not everyone is a professional website builder or coder, so they definitely need to keep that in mind. Some of us are just regular people who know nothing about this stuff, but need to have a business website.
Another thing is that they offer different priced security packages, though they're telling you that if you don't get the most expensive one, you'll still have breaches... I don't understand that. Then why even offer packages that DONT WORK?
I had domain paid and hosting paid, however, my website was down for 2-3 weeks. I felt the service was incompetent and i was forced to move out to a different vendor. Several week down time is unacceptable.
I liked that the Information was given when asked, but I don't liked that the issue took longer than the expected, and by the social media announcements it was a shorter time than the real time that it needed to be solved, since our site needs to be live at least at 2 important times in the 7 days of the week

My site was going down. Tech took the time to resolve and figure out why my sites were going down. Installed script to prevent bot attacks. No other tech support could figure out or take the time to solve the problem. This tech did a great job.

Price used to be reasonable but how has gone up. Many of the options I need to find are buried in the site. It is a chore to even log in. Sometimes I log in and get right on and other times nothing happens. I check and recheck log in info and nothing happens. I get frustrated, leave and try again another time.
My mother and I were trying to make/put up our website. Trying to connect it to Wordpress. Of course, we didnt know how to do it. Paul was soooo great and informative in guiding us in this process. Very professional. You should give him a raise! He dealt with all of our problems and made sure everything went through and it did! Thank you so much Paul! You the man!

Probably because of the customer service. I get the help I need, without the "it's not my job" attitude. It's really great. You guys' customer services is unrivaled. Keep it up...It's the sole reason I stay. :)
In the past, I had spoken with people in the technical support of Hostgator that unfortunately didn't have the knowledge to resolve my issue or didn't take the time to resolve my issue and always recommended me to other companies to resolve my issue. Things honestly damage the reputation of the company. Today I called the company for the last time and May Ann Rose was very polite and with a lot of knowledge was able to resolve my issue. I think Companies should be more selective with their employees and hire people like her or promote people like her who understand the importance of good customer service to help other employees.

I have used HostGator for years with close to 100% satisfaction. I was price gouged by about 500% on my renewal this year, and will take action over the next year to make sure I never have to use HostGator again.
I am incredibly dissatisfied with the change over from web builder as you are not giving us who are just a little less astute on website building to migrate to another platform. Because you are forcing this, I have to re-d0 my entire website? I have over 100 products and I have not had any business for a while via my website. You are not user friendly and forcing small businesses's hands to do something that takes away from our creating products and selling them. I have been following the directions and now the import is saying there's no WXL. Whatever!

Hello, I have almost purchased 3 server from hostgator, from India for my various customers. Unfortunately on hostgator.com there are no support for Indian clients as having US number only and live chat option (which rarely working else no response). At may occation I tried to contact them on live chat but even though after waiting many hours, there is no response and it keep loading. No email or no other support and even 1-2 time I got to connect them but not getting server level support at all. Even though still there are 2 years pending from 3, I have moved all my website to another service provider and do not want to get any further service from hostgator. They do not have any concern with their clients. I do not recomonded any services from hostgator at all, if you do not want to waste time and money.

Why the style.css file keep resetting itself every few hours. I have to check it, status and correhctm the css file dffew times a day. Tt is insane and not acceptable. Plebase kindly go ini/n fix this issue. I am so tired wit,h this carcass.
The support is not good, and the updates they make cause my website to crash, and the support people do not solve the problem but instead keep me waiting and I have to contact them, the verification phase is also very tedious.
Host Gator is a horrible buggy service, the website is often down, and their site is so buggy I can't even renew my service, and the customer support is non-responsive. I would never recommend Host Gator to anyone.
I wanted to choose a shorter domain contract and I cannot do it without chat or a phone call. I went I chat twice but the time it was taking to get a new contract time was excessive. I could not wait and asked the person who I chatted with to email me with the new price for one year and he/she did not email me with the details. So I am just renewing for three years. Your chats take too long. Guess I should have just called.

My experience has been great, hostgator has all the features to publish my website in one place. Prices are affordable. I couldn't speak to customer service though through a chat, I kept getting links to access. I still solved my issue.
Very cumbersome. I have THREE accounts and it's like pulling teeth to get everything synced and to remain synced. I have websites that keep popping up as "Not Secure". The cPanel name is quirky when everything else requires my email address. An agent CHANGED my associated email address and never bothered to change it back.
I've spent a lot to get my sites up. These things need to resolved and I need a much smoother user experience. Otherwise, I might just switch hosting platforms. Very cumbersome!

Answer: If you go straight to smartchat, it is very easy - you only need to find the smartchat button. I have worked with the Internet since web browsers were invented, so I know most of the answers already. That means that when I have a problem that I can't solve, it is going to be a real stinker for HostGator support to solve - I only bring them the difficult ones. Recently, I had an ISP who gave me terrible service, and the internet kept dropping out every few minutes. The Hostgator smartchat expert kept contact with me on and of for about an hour and three quarters until he had worked out the answer for me. That is what I call RELIABLE service.
