All reviews above are correct. Hometown Celebrations is definitely a hoax! I've called them numerous times and sent emails as well, but I got no reply. The products I ordered never arrived and I ended up having to delay our party. These guys deserve jail!
Horrible experience! I wish I had read this website. I ordered my stuff almost four weeks ago and have not received any items. I left numerous messages by phone and e-mailed. They do not respond back. I finally received a response after filing complaint with PayPal. The response was we mailed it out and cannot guarantee when it will get there. I have had to go out and buy stuff from another store!
This site is a SCAM! Please do not make any purchases with them. I purchased several items online and did not receive my items until 4 weeks later, returned the items to them and never received a refund. I am working with my bank to determine if they can assist me; but I seriously think I won't get my money back.
Worst customer service I have ever received! I wish I would have read the reviews first. They charged my card- sent my items 5 weeks late! And didn't even send the right item. All my calls and emails have been ignored! Beware do not use this website!
As other reviews have stated... this company is worthless and a scam. I ordered an item with priority shipping on July 20,2010 and have not received anything. Not even a response to my phone messages. Now it is August 1st and I have disappointed a child expecting a birthday present.
I wish l had read reviews on this site before ordering. I have called many times and emailed and they don't respond. I am out of pocket $96.00 and feel cheated. They took the money straight away and l am going to try and get my money back.
In all my years of virtual shopping I have never been so frustrated! I ordered Shrek party supplies for my sons 5th birthday on February 22nd. I kept checking the order status and it never seemed to update showing "shipped". I started calling the company and sending e-mails. Not return call or response. After 5 days of calling, I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and stopped payment on my credit card. This website is such as scam! Now I had to order through another website (since Shrek is no longer in stores) and pay $50 extra for shipping from Ottawa to get in time for our Saturday party. Shame on you Hometown Celebrations. I wish I could post something on their website -- "If you really want to disappoint your children -- shop here!". Hometown Celebrations - you stink.
What a scam! I wished I had researched this company prior to my order. Placed an order for cake tops for my Grandson, placed my order 3/12/12 with priority shipping, they charged my credit card the next day, got their money and I got nothing! I have called and left messages numerous times, never reach a live person, only a recording stating that their "office hours are mon-fri 8:00am-4:00pm CST and if you have received this message during these hours then they are busy assisting other customers", busy ripping off customers would be more accurate!
This motel is sad very very very sad. It's me and my 3 kids you can't get nothing fixed right nothing did right. But they want they money and they have so many freaking roaches me and my kids be killing like every dang second this is sad and they will take your money out of your card without your permission
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY! I wish I had read these reviews prior to ordering from this company. I had been doing a lot of online ordering prior to my wedding without a problem. I ordered a cake topper from them for my rehearsal dinner. My credit card was charged that day. When I didn't get it in a reasonable time frame, I emailed their customer service. No response. Once the wedding madness had died down, I called them and left a message. No response. I put in a formal dispute with my credit card company and sent a registered letter to Hometown Celebrations. I just got credited but still no explanation for why I didn't receive the item or a response to any of my attempts to contact them.
Hometown celebrations is a scam scam scam! I order some items for my twin daughters birthday, they sent me an email saying that I paid for the items and that the item was no longer avaliable and the order has been cancelled! So I keep calling them leaving them messages and sent emails no response! && I wished I had seen this website before I order with those scum bags :) haha
Don't think this company actually exists. Placed my order, they debited my account and I never received the order. Called 8 times, left messages and sent 6 e-mails. They have never replied. DON'T USE THIS COMPANY!
DO NOT USE THIS WEBSITE! At best, they have HORRIBLE customer service; at worst, theyare scammers who take your money and run. Just got off phone with credit card company and got the charges credited back to my account after two weeks of no merchandise, 4 phone calls not returned and 4 emails ignored. Re- ordered merchandise from PartyCity.com and it has already been shipped(less than 24 hours later) There are excellent websites out there(i. E. PartyCity)but Hometowncelebrations is a joke. Everyone should call State Attorney General of Louisiana to complain.
Placed an order on Jan 6,2010. My credit card was charged on Jan 7th. I have called and sent emails to no avail... I can not believe someone could be so dishonest. What a shame.
I agree with the other comments - NEVER order from this company.
FRAUD ALERT! DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SO CALLED COMPANY! They will take your order, bill your credit card, but you will NOT receive the items you ordered! I have called and called and I just get a recording. I have emailed and no one returns the emails. I called my credit card company and Hometown did bill me right away. I have put in a complaint with the cc company.
If you place your order, don't expect to receive it!
Hometown celebrations left us in the gloom - We ordered products from her on Feb 16th it states shipping in 2-3 days. We have yet to receive it and the phone #s for the company have filled up voice mails, I also sent to the customer service website and no one responds.
Do not buy from hometown celebrations.com! I ordered online and paid by paypal. I have never recieved my order. I have called on a daily basis and left messages. I have sent e-mails. No one has ever called me back! Now I have to enter into resolution dispute through paypal. I want to get the message out- do not buy from these people! You will have dissapointed children when your order does not arrive in time for their birthday party.

Don't use this company! They are scammers. I made a fairly large purchase, and returned it without opening it, and they kept the product and never refunded my money. They wouldn't return my calls or my emails... horrible.

Unfortunately the order placed on Jan 8th, 2010 and the money withdrawn from the bank on Jan. 9th, 2010 never made the promise date.
Your people promised priority shipping to be before the party date of Jan. 17,2010 but the package that was received was not shipped until the 19th of January.
Extra Shipping was charged to customer but NOT RECEIVED ON TIME.
PRIORITY USUALLY SHIPS IN 3 BUSINESS DAYS --- NOT 8 TO 9 DAYS LATER.
Package was received on thurs. Jan 21... What an unfortunate situation, We had to run out Sunday 1/17 the Date of the party and purchase other BEE balloons from a local supermarket.
SUCH A HUGE INCONVENIENCE. SUCH A BIG DISAPPOINTMENT...
Phone calls were made & ignored by your company to try and locate this order... ON TOP OF IF ALL THE ORDER HAS BEEN SENT BACK AT MY EXPENSE... I'M HOPING YOUR COMPANY WILL BE HONEST AND RETURN A REFUND TO ME...
