I had to return the first one because I didn't measure myself with enough margin (this being my first waistcoat), but the turnaround was really fast and hitch-free. The waistcoat itself is amazing, and I've already gotten many compliments on it. I'll definitely be shopping here regularly!
I am a professional Santa and am always on the lookout for good looking accessories. I found your sight by accident while looking for a new period dress shirt. Now when I get an idea you are my first stop and in most cases my last. I do wish you sold larger pants and jackets so I could make an entire costume but I will be happy with what you do have I can't find the quality anywhere else and I recommend you to all the other Santa's I know and local theater people.
The quality of the garment exceeded my expectations. The fabric was much more luxurious than I had anticipated. The fit is accurate, though might run a bit large for some people's liking. Shipping was surprisingly fast and well-packaged. I am very happy with the entire experience, overall.
The salesperson who took my phone order was exceptionally patient and helpful as I asked about putting together a complete civil war era civilian outfit for my husband-- finding suitable substitutions for discontinued items. The items were appropriate, well made, and durable
And were shipped right away. If I had a choice, I wish the trousers were available in lengths rather than having to order some six inches too long and having to find someone to shorten them-- but other than that,

I did not measure before I ordered, it was why I returned the items. But I didn't put the company name on the return address, plus typed in the wrong address. I also destroyed my tracking number from the post office. When I called to see if they could watch for it, they were so nice and helped me to place a new order. I love your merchandise and I get the packages really fast. On top of it, the credit did come through and the box was found. Thank you, I am telling everyone I know what a great company you have!
The article I bought is a gift for someone for b- day, which has not yet been given, so I don't know if he'll like it. It seems to be well made and looks very well. The G. E.'s service was excellent. The wrong size was sent, but they took care of it right away, and a new article was sent within two days. Will shop Gentleman's Emporium again.
Sizing is a bit off. Would like the clothing better if you could pick a different size top and bottom. The "dress" I ordered came in a skirt and top combo--the skirt was at least 2 sizes too big and the top was 1 size too big. With this type of clothing fit really matters (being baggy is not an option). I had to return my purchase since I knew there was no real way to make it work unless I wanted to spend $20-50 more in alterations to get the outfit to look right. And if I have to alter it, I am better off just making my own costume (both in terms of cost and fit). Great styles though--wish it could have worked out.
Customer service was very responsive. The package got here quicker than I expected. They wrote my extra delivery instructions on the outside of the box and I really appreciated that. Would definitely recommend!
What can I say that hasn't been said before? Historical Emporium is truly one of the best! The quality of the products, the reasonable prices, fast delivery and A1 customer service! It doesn't get much better than this... They set the bar for customer satisfaction... It is always a pleasure to shop with them...
First time buyer, usually hesitant with web orders. The sizing chart, price, ease of use of the site and reviews allowed me to give it a try. When the product did arrive it was in very good condition. I did make an inquiry for historical clarification of certain hats and received an almost instant response. This impressed me and sealed the deal. I will certainly recommend!
The order and delivery service is very good. My personal contact with a rep was excellent. However, the replacement product I received seemed to be inferior quality. It did not match the advertised product. I am currently awaiting my purchase refunds from this company. When that is completed my opinion may be more favorable.
I had to return the first vest I bought because it was too heavy. I was concerned because returning & getting credit for items can be a nightmare. Your system is extremely customer friendly I did an exchange. Within 2 weeks I had my new item with all billing issues correct & without incident.
I bought a waistcoat, pair of trousers and suspenders, all of which were huge. I contacted Customer services and they provided me with great service, helping me choose replacement products. I sent everything back, and a couple weeks later my replacements arrived. The new waistcoat fits but is much too long, the suspenders are still huge, and can be seen through the waistcoat fabric, the pants fit the waist but are much too long, which I can fix, so will most likely be the one thing I will wear. Due to excessive costs, I don't know if I'll ever buy from here again, I have received better quality clothing from other websites, and I would recommend others to look at eBay and Etsy before purchasing here.
Love this shop and the quality merchandise they purvey. I purchased pantaloons and fingerless gloves that arrived quickly and were perfectly represented in the online store.
