On occasion this site has frozen and some auctions were cancelled and rescheduled which was very disappointing!
I'll never agree that an online auction is better than a live auction BUT I will admit hibid auctions are easy to participate in. Simple to browse,bid, and buy. I've never had any issues. Questions are always answered quickly. I feel like they run a pretty tight ship and will continue to bid on hibid auctions.

Hesitated on getting involved with this particular auctioneer but there were several items that had me decide to make the plunge. Auctioneer insisted on charging 20% of the invoice total to bidder's credit card despite being informed in advance that the invoice would be paid with cash and/or Zelle in it's entirety. Much too short of a time period post-auction for pick up and more than 24 hours after the conclusion of the auction there had not been scheduling of pickup times. Giving them a rating of "mmehhh", will monitor.

Hibid is very inconsistent. Would be great if they could create a bidding app like all the other platforms. It's constantly crashing and glitching.

I was the max bidder, I watched the clock run down. The final price didn't even reach my max bid. The next day I got an email that my bid was not accepted. The listing did not show any "reserve not met" message. It is quite frustrating.
I went back to the auction site and there was a line in the fine print that they had the right to refuse any bid. Why not show a reserve if there is one? Why not give the winning bidder at least a chance to increase the offer?

Love hibid and will continue to use it but the premiums are pretty high to be casually passed onto the buyer. After you win an auction, you tack on 15 in seller premiums and then 8.5% in taxes (understandable), but the incentive to buy on the platform goes down knowing that these end fees diminish how much purchasing power I actually have on the platform.
Wish it was almost case-base or category based percentage, or threshold based where if you go over a certain number like $100, $1000, or $*******, then the percentage changes.
Maybe this does exist but am not aware of it.

I bought 28 items for over $1000. Most of the items were ok. Sone were completely destroyed inside the box. I suppose this is what the inspection period is for but, like most, I traveled quite a distance to pick these items up. Had to assume that they were ok.

When you start to bid on multiple items, you line them up so you just scroll up or down and follow the bidding routine until the final bid.

Auctioneer Hopkinsauction.hibid.com sold me, and I'm assuming many others, items that were labeled by the Auctioneer as "New, Unopened", when in fact ALL of the 10 items I received had been previously opened and the contents replaced with fake re-sealed goods.
All of the cards were either printed on cheap fake paper, or a plastic sticker was used, see photos.
Real cards have a black line in the middle of the card when ripped, fake ones have no black.
You can also see the variety of light and dark printing on the backside of the fake cards.
The printed text on the cards is all wrong as well.
I once recommended people to use HiBid.com, but if they allow fraudulent Auctioneers like the one I just dealt with then I'll be telling people to steer well-clear of HiBid's services.

Had 2-3 delays in the bidding process for some reason. Not sure if it was a Hibid issue or possibly an internet issue. Where i lost video temporarily in the bidding process.

Answer: Licensed auctioneer here- auction law is that if you give notice that you need to retract your bid before the hammer falls (or the auction ends online) that the auctioneer is required to retract the bid. Actual law also dictates that bidding must start over at opening bid, not the next highest bid.
Answer: Very easy. If you dont get someone immediately they do call back. But once again if you have a problem with items contact the auction house not hibid. Hibid doesn't auction they only provide the platform

Also, anyone can set up an identity and bid against you. Although that may get interesting when they have to pay a commission to "buy" their own item!
