It has gotten to the point that depending on the auction company where after you say spend 350.00$ by the time you get the product and pay taxes of say 9.1 % and a 85.00 shipping fee that's 169.00 over the 350$ I gave for it over 500.00 $ and worth with the damage that it has? It is getting absolutely disgusting the charges especially the shipping seems they started a business for their family? Auctions were always what it says an auction then someone decided they could get by with not only charging the seller which is the custom they said we can get money out of the buyer too! Dont know how much longer I can afford to do this that's a lot it's one of the very last things I enjoy so take that too!
Would like to be able to view the realized prices on all auctions it also helps when you are the seller and cannot keep up with the auction when soft close is so rampant
App locked up on my phone when I scrolled too fast as it always does within 2-3 minutes of items closing. Needless to say, I was unable to bid on some desired items as I had to shutdown everything, reboot and start over.

With buyer rates going up a rates or percent tool to search by would improve efficiency.
It's a great system for bidding. Sometimes you win...sometimes you lose.
Beware of fine print as some auction houses state that all item sold are "as is" and you might be stuck with something that is broken...missing parts, etc.
Have used company PkgPlace for shipping from far from home Auction Houses. Great service and prices.

At first I was hesitant about bidding on-line thru HiBid, but after my 1st experience with the process, I have been involved in 3 auctions now! Each auction company was different. Some better than others. But the process through HiBid was stellar. The timely manner for all the bids were GREAT!
The only thing I wished they did was to show the winning bid amount for the item you were bidding on or watching.

Rude seller sent me threatening emails after auction because my bank denied the initial charge due to suspected fraud. Terrible customer service!

This could be a great platform and there are some decent honest ACTUAL auctioneers on here but there are also a lot of scammers selling on here and its really hard to differentiate until you expeirnce it. I would suggest save your time, energy, and money and not have to learn the hard way.
Bought some items and spent thousands of dollars to only be sent cheap fake jewelry which was not what was described or listed. Same company shill bids and most things sell to a "floor bidder". Only for every single item that sold to a "floor bidder" get relisted and re auctioned each week.
I was in their auction and these knives sold to a floor bidder so the lot was passed online. Its outlined in red showing I didnt win. Come to find out, after the auction, they charged my credit card for the original bid I put in, days AFTER my other invoice was paid for with other items I did actually win. I recieved my package and these knives were in there a long with a seperate sheeted invoice fo rthat item as well. So its clearly obvious that they were shill bidding and then went back in and used my last bid as the winning bid. BTW the knives are not Tiffany & Co and not even sterling silver. They are clearly marked Nickel Silver, so they misrepresent and lie abotu their items. That is not just a simple oversight. But the same thing happend on other items sold as fine or precious metals and they were not as they were clearly marked with other markings.
I even tried reporting this to HiBid and was told they cannot do anything about it, they dont have any recourse on scam sellers and that they would continue to allow them to sell on the platform. The only thing they would do for me is reach out to the "auctioneer" on my behalf.
BTW when you google the company's address they are in a tiny office suite inside a coporate building. They dont have the space or means to actually conduct live onsite auctions with real floor bidders.
I found 2 antique purses that I had been looking for. I thought I had bid up high enough, but sure enough, someone else was interested in them, at the end of the auction. You have to watch your item and bid up to its worth. Especially at the auction's closing. I am thrilled that I got my purses!

I get so sick of not bidding on clothing because listings frequently do not indicate a clothing size. Make it mandatory for a size field to be completed prior to submitting a new clothing article listing!

I have been using Hibid for some time now, I never had any issues with any of the auctions I have purchased from. I was rudely hung up on by one of the Auction houses about my credit card being declined( I called back Right away to resolve this) I explained my bank card was fine but the owner of the auction house hung up on me after explaining he would ban me from their auction house and would ban me from hibid. I will be closing my account on hibid. I really did enjoy the fun of online auctions.

I like being able to put in my highest bid even if not watching the entire thing.
The features such as being able to see prior bids or watch list is very helpful.
Having a watch list to concentrate on helps to not over spend and buy just what I want.

1) With HiBid, the amount of the winning bid is not shown to the public. So I might have been interested in a lot, but not have bid on it. Still, I am educating myself in values. So, please consider listing the value of the winning bid. Many on-line sites do so, for example, "Invaluable".

If the auctioneer doesn't send you your winning bids they have no way of helping you get your items or money or recommence. Only they will contact them if they get nothing so do you. They say they will contact you back and they never do. I lost $227 dollars. I'm a single dad with two special needs children and bought the items for them and now I have gotten nothing

Answer: Licensed auctioneer here- auction law is that if you give notice that you need to retract your bid before the hammer falls (or the auction ends online) that the auctioneer is required to retract the bid. Actual law also dictates that bidding must start over at opening bid, not the next highest bid.
