I am a long time user, usually bid every week, have for years.
I use "Tile View". When I am in my "Watch List" and make bids, not everything updates.
The bid in that particular "Lot Box" will update the dollar amount, but does not update the bids and the bidder in the line under the dollar amount. Clicking "refresh" does not update it, I have to click "reload" on my browser. Also, when I bid, the numbers in the green, gold, red, blue boxes, do not update. But I can update clicking "refresh". That's too many clicks in the heat of the battle. LOL
Only thing I didn't like was at the end of bidding was it said I( may have won),leaving me guessing if if I did or not.

Easy to place bids and when outbid, a notification is sent to you so that you have another chance to bid higher if you wish. Also, following the closing of the auction items, it's easy to follow each item. As far as shipping goes, I have received items that were broken, notified HiBid and don't believe they made good on the broken items.

I've been played by two separate auction houses for around $40 each. I won, I paid, never received. Just completely ignored. I called one them over and over and left several messages. Nothing. These businesses should be able to be rated and kicked off the site for shoddy business practices. They get away with it - no discipline. Very annoying.

Always a Great time looking through the items. I usually purchase off Ebay or Mercari but have got some great buys here even with added fees the combined shipping can be a lot cheaper then eBay but sometimes the shipping is high with some shippers used by the auction places charging $5.00 or more a box and another $5.00 or more for bubble but overall it's been great.

I had bids on 3 items the first 2 went like it was supposed to but when I went to up the bid on the third item it would skip my item and bring up the next item that I didn't want it did that 2 times then my item sold I guess its not the end of the world it saved me some money
When you hit the back or forward button to look at previous or the next page, you get an error message, page not found. There is no intuitiveness to the platform and the menu of categories is very awkward. There needs to be an overall platform update with more defined categories, more streamlined searches, and a way to weed out unwanted sales. The intent of the site is very good, but the tool itself is reminiscent of a late 90's or early 2000's search tool. You can maneuver, but it is painful at times.
I find HiBid difficult to navigate and use. It's certainly not user friendly. I find it odd that with every auction you need to register with the auctioneer and reenter the cc info. Doesnt seem very secure. Each auction have their own rules, payment times and shipping times, if they ship. By lurking for months I thought I finally knew enough to register. I then registered for an online only auction and won a few things. The withdraw for payment was done several days later. I haven't heard anything from the auction company and now I'm wondering if I'll actually get the items I won. I wonder if any of the auction companies are vetted to make sure they are legit. But maybe it's a slow process and I'll eventually be notified of shipping charges and stuff will be mailed. It really feels like you're on your own here and the method of making sure you get the items is the cross your fingers method. On another topic, I still have not figured out how to search for a specific auction. I do a search for auctions in my state and sometimes it only shows one or two. But an hour later I can search and get 15.

Actual law also dictates that bidding must start over at opening bid, not the next highest bid.
