I've had items that were posted as new in box in working order, be broken. I've been charged for items that were not actually available to me when I go to pick them up. I feel like some auction houses drive up the price on their bids with automated accounts, and some are purposely selling broken items, and not informing us before we place bids. With that being said, I have won some decent items as well, but the bad outshines the good sometimes. Could be a great site, if it were policed and regulated better.

I bought and paid for a rifle at $1235.73; I also paid insurance and shipping of $53.59. The rifle was received from UPS in a damaged box with bolt broken. I have provided pictures, retained shipping container, got a quote to repair from factory and no resolution of communication from Hibid or Mensendiek's Auction Service, please be aware it appears Hibid will not support the consumer nor will some of their Auction Services including Mensendiek';s Auction Service. This is frustrating and defeating.

Daniel Reed of OFF MAIN LLC,is Honest,Accurate very Professional, and Daniel is very accessible and his Hibid website is very easy to navigate, I find that Hibid is very Legitimate and if you communicate your items will be shipped very quickly, but if you don't communicate your items won't be shipped because sometimes your items will need special shipping, call or email your Hibid associates and they will TAKE GOOD CARE OF YOU.

Bidding was very easy only thing I would change is how you return to watch list.
I bid and won a truck from Morris Auctioneers. Someone called me an hour after I won the auction to tell me I hadn't actually won the truck. They said they forgot to put a reserve on the truck. I thought this seemed unfair but I finally came to terms with it and the auctioneer offered to sell me the truck out right the next day for $4400. I agreed to buy and arranged to get it the next morning. She then told me she could not sell it to me at all now because it was against the law. Hibid allows these sellers to take advantage of the shoppers. There is no recourse. I think Hibid could atleast ban them from their site after treating people like this. It is very unprofessional.

Answer: Licensed auctioneer here- auction law is that if you give notice that you need to retract your bid before the hammer falls (or the auction ends online) that the auctioneer is required to retract the bid. Actual law also dictates that bidding must start over at opening bid, not the next highest bid.
