The guy came out and parked in my driveway. I asked him to move so that I could pull in. Later he said he'd been drinking water and he asked could he use my restroom. I said no. Then he continued to discuss his jobs waiting for him once he leaves my house. He installed a video doorbell and solar panel without asking me if they were centered or placed where I wanted. When I looked for myself, they were crooked so he had to remove and correct both. THEN… the next day I saw where the company had charged me an additional fee that we'd never discussed. I have disputed the charge. Do not trust them!
I called to have them reactivate my ring doorbell they asked me to give them three different time preferences. It showed there was an opening at 2:00 today they scheduled me for tomorrow. I canceled they charged me $25. Greedy company.
After giving several days and times, my scheduled tech was a no show two times. Now I get to wait a week for them to schedule someone else. I was a field service tech for many years, this is inexcusable by the tech and the company. I have never seen such poor service and lack of professionalism anywhere at anytime.
Had an appointment for Friday at 7. No way to contact the tech. Called the 1800 # sat on hold for over two hours. Had to use the chat (text) and allowed to get rebook me for Sunday at 9 and they charged my card again. It's now Sunday 10:36 and again no call no show. No email or anything. Call no answer so again I'm left to deal with the text. And ask me to pick another date and time for service. Are you crazy you think ima let you charged my card again. Now mind you they said they don't charged until service is complete. Lies on top of lies. 0/100 do not recommend
First, they promised a same day visit. Canceled. Then, asked my avail On Weds. Strike 2- they canceled again after I took time off work.
If your repair is not urgent, and you don't mind speaking with Filipino call centers, go ahead and give them a call! They'll send a tech out, eventually…
I had a ring item installed. The technician was on time and very nice, but I found it concerning that I was asked to pay through an app. Since the technician couldn't do not complete all of the items that had been prepaid, he suggested canceling the service and paying him directly. I asked him if it was against policy and he said no. Well, I read the FAQ after he left and it is against the HelloTech policy. I assume he didn't want them to get a percentage of the fee. It looks like I didn't receive service and I did. I have video of him doing the install to prove it. He also did not do a great job, it looks haphazard. I think he tried his best but wasn't skilled enough. I would not recommend HelloTech to anyone.
Scheduled a time for HelloTech to mount two TVs. They did not show up and I had to cancel the order. There was no communication about why they did not show up or what happened.
Made an appointment for Saturday 10am. No one ever showed up, emailed or called. I had to call the company and the response was they cant get in contact with the technician and wanted me to reschedule for a different day and time. Definitely would not recommend.
I ordered a TV to be mounted by HelloTech today and after 15 minutes went past that my tech was supposed to be there I called in. The lady I spoke with said "THEIR SYSTEMS WERE DOWN ALL DAY 8AM-5PM" and that's why I never got an email to update me and let me know that my tech would not be able to show due to having an eight hour shift of "technical difficulties" I've never seen a business have an 8 hour span of having "system issues" in my life! I want my money back and you can be sure I'm telling my lawyer, friends, family, and bank brokers about my experience and I will definitely always never recommend. And I couldn't even get an email stating that I cancelled my services with a pending refund because "the systems are still down"! Con artists at the finest!
Technician came to help me retrieve my pictures from an older computer. He couldn't get the computer to boot, so he removed the hard drive. He asked for what device I wanted the pictures copied to and I showed him a brand new portable hard drive. He said he would need to do the work elsewhere. So he left with both. A month later, having heard nothing, I called. They said they would look into it. Called back another week later. They said they would review and contact the technician. Now they are saying the technician says he never took the hard drives and since I can't prove it, they will not reimburse me for the service or the stolen device. I am out the service fee and have no hope of ever getting my pictures or the brand new portable drive back. These people are simple thieves.
Twice scheduled an appointment. Twice, they could not find a tech to assign my order to with 24 in the area. They cancelled my 2nd appointment without contacting me or even trying to reschedule for the same reason. Unreliable.
I scheduled an appt and waited (& waited & waited) for the tech to arrive. They claim he arrived and rang the doorbell (which doesn't work - makes no chime, etc... should've been obvious). Tech doesn't text, or call. Apparently waited 20 min and then left. I was sitting inside, downstairs the whole time. So they charged me. What delivery or appointment service doesn't call or text ahead? Especially if they are waiting outside? And then charges me $69 for nothing? I'm going back to Geek Squad. This never happened with them.
Service rep came to fix my universal remote and sync my various tv components. He was in the house for about a half hour. After he left I tried the system and I was back where I started from. There's no way to contact any reps directly. I explained the problem to the customer service number and emailed them the problem…nothing! One email said they would look into it…one week later and still no word! I paid $160 for absolutely nothing and no one at Hello Tex cares. Don't use this company!
Scam site. Look forward to weekly/ monthly charges on the CC you leave on file and prepare to be forced into changing your account number. Don't bother reaching out to their customer service, they'll try to charge your card just to cancel their "membership" you never signed up for.
I used HelloTech to install a large home theater system and they basically sent Jim Carey's character from Dumb and Dumber. The guy was useless! Plus, I have had about $1,400 in fraudulent charges on my HelloTech account in the past 2 months! I ask for my account to be deleted and they lie and say they will delete it. It's still there and I am still getting fraudulent charges! It takes 10 DAYS to get your money back! I had to change my debit card to stop the fraudulent charges! And my account is still there! The email addresses they give you are invalid. They say they will delete your account within 24-48 hours (THEY LIE OUT BOTH ENDS). BEWARE! They have two things for site security: JACK and SQUAT. Along with their absolutely useless people, HelloTech is a JOKE of a company!
I had two appointments in two days that I waited a total of four hours and no one showed up even though they confirmed the appointment just an hour before.
It seems their technicians don't work for this company so not ever sure their safe to let in. Don't waste your time waiting for them to show up

Only reason for the one star; is you have to give something. All the HYPE on Tech Sending a TEXT when he is on route/arrival time/is pure bull! My tech (MATT) never showed and they couldn't find him. I called at 10 minutes and 30 minutes behind schedule and 'in route' was all i was told. After 1 hour; I called and cancelled. Don't let the 3 hour "cancellation policy Scare you' Placed it on AMEX and they folded

I made an appointment with Hellotech for the following day to install a tv on the wall. The time was scheduled for between 11 and 1. At 12:30 I got an email saying the tech was running 15 to 30 minutes. By 2 pm still no tech. I finally got tired of waiting and called. I was told the original tech was no longer available and they were trying to find another one. If one is found, it could possibly be 8 pm. I told them I wanted my money back and will NEVER use them again.
I contracting this company through Target over a month ago for "Professional Installation" of a 50 in TV. The process to just get the appointment was backwards and should have been my first clue that this was going to go left. However, I continued on ad scheduled the appointment only to have a tech (and use that term very loosely) come to my home and strip and damage my existing coax cable and disconnect my router leaving me no internet or TV service to my other devices.
Contacting the Customer Service Department located in the Philippines was just a run around and being placed on hold. The process was frustraing to say the least as they instructed me to open a damage claim which to this day has not been resolved and I ony get contacted about it when I call them!
Save yourselve the headache and just don't use them.
Answer: Don't use hellotech. They can not be trusted. They overcharge. They lie. They are a rip off.
