This company allows you to cancel your membership online and your account reflects cancelled. Except, they forget to mention to truly cancel, you must respond to a follow up email. I never received this email and I never called because I didn't know I needed to respond to such an email to cancel. My account appeared to be cancelled online so I just left it. If there are additional steps to cancel, this should be clearly stated online so people are not deceived into paying for additional weeks.
I have only had Hello Fresh for ONE week. On week 2, the food did not show up. There is no way to track the food either. Called customer service, and there is no way to have another box shipped. Their only courtesy is to refund the box of food. When asked if there was another incentive they could provide I was told, $10 then $15 then $20 max they could provide as a credit. I was told typically they only will refund the cost of the food so this was beyond that. This customer service is ridiculous. With all the other food services out there I would not do this one. Go somewhere else!
One of my boxes was sent to a different state.
A credit was given as an apology. I was given a $5 discount code and applied it, the company refused to apply my $75 credit due to this.
When contacting customer support they pretended like they couldn't do anything about it. When contacting cancellation they also pretended like they couldn't do anything about it.
While this was going to be my last box regardless, the difference is that I now hate hello fresh and do not recommend anyone order from them, vs ending their services with a positive outlook -- and with the possibility of resubscribing.
I really liked the food until we got the last box and got horrible food poisoning from the shepherd's pie meal. My husband, son, and I were in horrible shape for two days (and I still am). My daughter didn't eat the food, fortunately, and didn't get sick. I received a lousy refund of $19.77 after missing work and not being able to eat anything but applesauce for two days.
I am so sick of receiving HelloFresh coupons in the mail. I have repeatedly asked that they stop sending me things in the mail. I tried HelloFresh ONCE. I was missing a whole meal! I told them about this and they couldn't issue a refund for me. I cancelled my subscription and they did multiple things to try to make me stay. I have emailed them multiple times telling them to take me off of the mail list. They still continue to send me things in the mail!
I went on the Hello Fresh website to see what the meals were like. They make you put in all of your information including your credit card. We decided that we didn't think the food was worth the money that they charged. Soon after I Xed out and cancelled what I considered ordering, I received an email stating that the food would be delivered the following Tuesday. What? I cancelled the order immediately. Today, I received an email from GLS stating that I have a package coming. I called GLS customer service and sure enough, the package to be delivered is from Hello Fresh. I never placed an order and yet, they are delivering it. This company is crooked. Do not even go to their website because if you do, you will end up spending forever trying to cancel an order you never placed. Besides, their food is not worth the money that they charge. Stay away from crooked Hello Fresh!
I was looking through the menu for hello-fresh because of a promotion for a free meal. When I was done I was told that I didn't have enough money for the order, so I went on with my life until I was paid more than 2x the price of the order for work. I found out this morning that I had ordered a box with 3 meals for $67. And I was mad because I didn't want it. So I called customer support to cancel the order but they tried to get me to change my schedule from every week to every month. But I eventually cancelled the extra 3 boxes because I didn't even want the first one.
Ordered a larger bundle of food however, when I received my order the chicken, alone, was riddled with some much fat and tendons on it, I trimmed the meat and there wasn't much left to cook. I had to turn the halved chicken breasts into chicken strips to cook it. The rest of the ingredients were sub par. I cancelled my recurring order ASAP. I will trust my local supermarket for better ingredients. Will not, ever, return to purchase anymore products from hello fresh. All-in-all, people learn how to food prep and purchase your own ingredients from your local supermarkets. Local is always better for you anyway. Save your money and time.
Worst service I've ever had they lie they won't let you speak to a supervisor they charge your account after you've canceled or put the account on pause they have terrible service over the phone and chat they will never help you so I pray you don't have a problem with them the food is small it's terrible don't ever use this service!
My plan was meat and veggies...I was so excited because I would have had everything to cook to make the meals. When I opened the bags there's no meat! Did I misunderstand? Am I supposed to buy my own meat with this plan?
This was my fix for preparing meals for the week. You are the company that comes recommended. While the meal plans have been going okay, today, you did not deliver my meals. I received a memo that this was the case. When one plans and organizes their time, this becomes an inconvenience. You need to be better organized when it comes to food delivery. Veho was the one who did not get my order, so this is all on HELLO FRESH. This is unacceptable and messed up my entire week and my budget. You were quick to jump on my statement to cancel without any solution. I will NOT recommend you to anyone, and I will spread this through word of mouth and here. You have wasted my time, my money and have created an inconvenience for me this week. Would love to add a photo, but wait... right, you did not deliver my food.
I got through once when setting up an order with the gift card I was given. The guy charged my credit card $62.00 but only gave a credit of $61.00. My credit card was not supposed to have been charged because I had a $65.00 gift card.
I have tried several times to talk with someone about my order.
1st, on hold for over an hour before hanging up. 2nd on hold for 25 minutes before hanging up.
The website to order requires payment first before you check out your choices. That was the reason I called in the beginning to find out how it worked. This process is backwards. You look to see what you want and then you pay for it not the other way around.
I will never recommend this company to anyone.
I went onto the site twice to change out a menu selection the 1st time I had to call to make the change the second time they ignored the change. When I called to try to rectify the problem they removed my discount and after the the credit I wound up paying roughly 36.00$ for to chicken sandwiches. Overpriced and poor service are not a good combination.

Horrible customer service. Friend spent 60 on gift card and they suspended gift cards for coronavirus. This was given to help us following the death of our daughter. When we went to redeem I spent an hour trying to get the food box sent to me. They refused but said the gift card would be valid at a later date. I explained the situation and they hung up on me twice. Gift cards are a con and costumer service is horrible. Stay away.
I ordered 3 meals. One frozen, one had a molded onion and mushy potatoes. I mean how fresh is that? It takes an onion quite some time to mold and potatoes a long time to become mushy unless they froze them first. One meal, the hamburger was missing, did not receive it.
I have used them in the past and have had issues with getting the right amount of meat or missing items. More recently I received a promo email and went ahead and signed up, 3 hours later I CANCELLED ( well before the '5 day cut off'). It showed I had no upcoming deliveries. To my surprise they charged my card 6 days later. I called first thing the next day and was told it was past the five day cut off. Although I cancelled well before the 6 days BEFORE THE cut off. I spent two hours and talked to multiple people who 'couldn't do anything' and I would just get the box and be charged. What a waste as I already have other food coming. This companies lack of customer relations makes me never want to order food from them again.
Order a box for an arrival of yesterday between 8 am - 8PM stayed up until 930 PM, waiting, but it never arrived.
Spent 35 minutes of excruciating pain trying to convince customer service I had a delivery. In excessive repetition had to explain my address, who I was, my delivery date, the charge, the fact that I had a box arriving.
In the end was told sorry for the inconvenience but expect your box by 8 PM tonight.?
As a service you agree to for time and convenience, I received the opposite. For the time I spent waiting for the box and on the customer service line I could have meal planned and actually had food to cook today. Not worth it. Also how long does a box last when its been in a warm unrefrigerated vehicle for 48 hours or more? That issue did not concern hello fresh at all, he basically told me to smell it when it arrived and let them know if its spoiled... THANKS.
If you have an old account, be careful when you log in. I had not used my account since 2019. In 2022 Logging is reactivated my account and charged against an EXPIRED card. After three times calling and getting "disconnected" twice, the company will not make it right. Thankfully my credit card company will. Logging into an account does NOT mean placing an order. NOT HAPPY'!
I tried a Hello Fresh trial box. Then they billed me $109 for a second box that I did not order. How do you sent a second box when I didn't pick the food? The lady said they can't cancel it even though the box didn't ship yet. I asked for a supervisor, she said they didn't have one. No supervisor on a Monday at 10:30am? Terrible customer service and bad business practice.
In order to view their meals, one has to sign up, which I did. When I looked at the options, I immediately deactivated my account because of their limited vegetarian meals. I received an email confirming my cancellation so I figured everything was fine. When I looked at my cc account, I noticed that I was charged for a plan even though I never selected any of the meals. I called to request that they cancel the order and refund me and the agent refused! She said that because I didn't "cancel the order" that I was responsible for the box that was going to be sent. I'm sorry, but isn't deactivating the account the same as cancelling it? I have ordered from other companies and I've never had this issue. Hello Fresh is unethical and can't be trusted. I will never recommend them to anyone! I wish that I could give ZERO stars
Answer: I signed up and realised its a scam - your first order is only able to be placed 2 weeks away, meaning they get your money even if you use a coupon... and from other reviews they won't let you cancel. I just registered a voucher, saw the dates and tried to cancel... and can't - there is no "cancel" on their website
Answer: You will still have to pay for delivery and such because this company says those things cannot be covered by a gift card. Beware signing up, because they will subscribe you as soon as you enter credit card information. It is in their Terms and Conditions at the beginning of the process.
Answer: You're automatically on auto ship…any week you don't overtly cancel will get sent out and you'll get charged.
Answer: Nor really. They will want to give you a partial refund of the single ingredient you found to be of poor quality... and that's if you want to take the time to navigate the website to find out how to do it. Their website is totally designed to make customer service difficult.
