Purchased hearing aids in March and as of now, July, still Hearing Life has not forwarded paperwork to my insurance company for reimbursement. Was told at time of sale would be reimbursed $3000. This swayed me to make purchase. I feel it constitutes Fraud and Attorney General in this state is pursueing the matter. Additionally a certified letter was sent to corporate ref. My plight. No response at all. Telephone calls from corporate was just lip service. Very disappointed with company.
Their sales scripts are old fashioned and inappropriate. I would not recommend to buy devices here nor would I recommend to work there.
At my first appointment for a test and hearing aid fitting, I should have listened to my gut when the provider already had "my" hearing aids out and charging. My first clue that I might not be getting the best personalized choice for me according to my exam and test.
I wore these for a couple of weeks and the technology wasn't as convenient as I knew hearing aids can be. I requested a different brand and was told "no problem!" I waited so long for them to call me when the new ones came in that I finally called them. I was ONE day away from my trial period on the initial ones being over. It had taken so long because the provider wasn't familiar with the software on the new brand. (I'm speaking of high-end hearing aids and well-known brands!) I would have missed the trial period exchange if I hadn't called them!
He did get the new brand ones programmed, but after wearing them for a week or so I knew the sound quality could be better.
I called for an adjustment appointment. After 4 messages and zero call backs over a period of 10 days, I finally gave up. They are obviously not interested in helping me with a brand they are not familiar with.
They clearly use one brand and only one brand. Now, I have a $6,000.00 set of hearings aids that I am not wearing.
I have made an appointment with a completely different provider who is familiar with all brands and software, and will now have to pay $500.00 to have these top of the line hearing aids reprogrammed and $65.00 per visit for adjustments after that.
The cost is worth it to me to be able to utilize my hearing aids and hear better again, but I should never have been forced into this position.
Steer clear of Hearing Life!
I was totally disrespected by salesman Rick. He accused me of fraud ( which never happened), and the company did not honor 30 day guarantee. RIP Offs
I RECEIVED MY HEARING EXAM AT THE OCONOMOWOC OFFICE. KAYLA WAS VERY THOROUGH. SHE EXPLAINED AND ANSWERED ALL MY QUESTIONS. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMEND HEARING LIFE TO FRIENDS AND FAMILY.
