Had to pay an extra £600 for insurance to reduce the required deposit of £1250 as they can't process deposits on debit cards over £1000. Neither the deposit amount nor the fact that it MUST be credit not debit card, was clearly communicated to me prior. A booking of £130 turned into £730! Staff in the office & the car itself were great.Please be aware of the deposit amount and the fact that it can take up to 30 days to get it back.I have made a complaint but no response as yet.

I thought the Green Motion experience was terrific from start to end. The customer service at pick-up was excellent. During the rental we had an issue and had to call in but it was quickly handled and resolved. The return was also easy. Finally the car was outstanding.

Even with an unfortunate parking incident Green Motion's handling fair, supportive to the customer, as far as possible. Wir kamen erst kurz vor Mitternacht in Kreta an. Der Service am Kundenschalter innerhalb des Terminals war freundlich. Eine Übergabe am Fahrzeug außerhalb des Terminals fand aufgrund der Zeit (Dunkelheit) nicht statt - es wurde aber darauf hingewiesen, dass wir vorhandene Schäden am nächsten Tag dokumentieren sollten, falls diese noch nicht im Protokoll erfasst waren. Gebucht hatten wir in der Kategorie "Hyundai i30 oder ähnlich (CDMR)". Bekommen haben wir einen Fiat Tipo in der Stufenheck-Ausführung (1,4 / 70 KW Benzin).
Für enge Passagen auf der Insel ist dieses Fahrzeug völlig untauglich und war letztlich auch für die enge Einfahrt zu unserer Villa ein Handycap.
Deshalb ziehe hier 1 Punkt ab, da das Fahrzeugangebot nicht meiner Vorstellung entsprach.
Die Regulierung des Sachschadens verleif dagegen am Tag der Abgabe wieder zügig und reibungslos.
Ein Mitarbeiter am Kundenservice im Terminal konnte sogar ein wenig deutsch, so dass wir uns teils englisch und teils in deutscher Sprache verständigen konnten.
Die Schadensregulierung / Rückerstattung bei Vollkaskoversicherung lief über die Partnerversicherung AurumCars ab. Die von greenmotion abgerechnete "Nutzungsausfallentschädigung" i. H. v. 50,00 EUR wurde nicht von AurumCars reguliert.

Easy to book online through Holiday Autos. Nice car, convenient in-terminal desk and return parking lot close to the terminal. Only disappointment was that there was onlt one rep serving customers and the customer in front of us had a problem and took ages which meant we had a long time to wait. There were 2 other reps in the cabin but they did paperwork and ignored customers. If it wasn't for that I would have given 5 stars.

Answer: I have used them many times, always cheapest, always very new cars, always charming and helpful staff ( Stansted Airport). Every firm will try to get you to upgrade. Buy a 3rd party policy, and just say you have your own cover. Up to now I have never been scammed. I ALWAYS inspect the vehicle before. I drive off. I take photos and make sure I get it inspected and signed off by staff when I take it back.
Answer: Speeding/parking tickets and police action are slow. They keep the deposit until they are sure there will be no problems with any of those costs. (and yeah, would be speeding fine + massive green motion fee).

I can confirm that security deposits are automatically released by Green Motion on the last day of your rental after it has been established that the rental vehicle has been returned in the same condition as it was provided, and there are no further outstanding charges. Whilst in most cases this is available again within 10 working days, unfortunately, this can take up to 30 days depending on the bank that you use. We suggest that you contact your bank as they may be able to speed this process up for you. Green Motion's policy is to use pre-authorised transactions for our security deposits, which ring-fence the amount within your account, not charge it. This pre-authorised transaction will allow us to make charges if necessary at the end of the rental, but unless this occurs no money will leave your account. Due to the nature of this transaction, the release of these funds may not show on your bank statement as a separate transaction. If you believe that you have been charged your security deposit, please contact your bank and ask them to provide proof of the transaction as a charge on the first day of your rental so that we can look further into this for you. If this amount is still not available in your account after 30 days from the last day of your rental, please contact us at escalation@cs.greenmotion.com. Answer: I believe Green Motion are a perfectly fair and respectful company. I suspect you didn't read their Ts&Cs properly. The two customers being served while I was collecting my car had also not read/understood the conditions and were caught by surprise. The representative dealt with them firmly but fairly.
