After booking my car I found out about the exceptionally bad reviews on google and Trustpilot.
Fortunately, I was very happy with the car and also the collection of the vehicle went rather well.
In the online reviews I was warned about hidden fees and I was very unpleasantly surprised about a hidden fee of $168 for a tollway sticker. Since the toll fees in Puerto Rico are not so high this definitely feels like a way to increase the rental fee by 30%.
Also, the deposit of $800 was taken fully from my credit card account instead of it being a pre-authorisation. This on the contrary, to the Puerto Rico branch general terms and conditions that I found on the Green Motion website. This makes me feels worried if and when the refund to my credit card will me made.

Zaten tarafıma yansıtılacak her türlü tutara kabuldüm. Ancak hasarla ilgili tutar kartımdan çekilmeden önce en azından tarafıma telefonla bir bilgi verilmesini beklerdim. Bilgi verilince pasta cila ile geçecek sürtmeye 3500 TL yansıtılmasına itiraz edeceğim zannedildi sanırım. Bu şekilde dayatma yapılması yakışmadı. Bu nedenle tekrar tercih etmeyeceğim ve tavsiyede bulunmayacağım.

Both GREEN MOTION and the broker ECONOMY BOOKINGS, keep referring me to the cancellation policy, that I should have contacted them in advance. But I as mid air until I arrived at Heathrow airport to collect the car! Forced to get an Uber the 80 miles home, I was obviously not interested in traveling back to Heathrow to collect the car the day after. Impossible to understand how it could be my fault - do not use this company!

Had to pay an extra £600 for insurance to reduce the required deposit of £1250 as they can't process deposits on debit cards over £1000. Neither the deposit amount nor the fact that it MUST be credit not debit card, was clearly communicated to me prior. A booking of £130 turned into £730! Staff in the office & the car itself were great.Please be aware of the deposit amount and the fact that it can take up to 30 days to get it back.I have made a complaint but no response as yet.

I thought the Green Motion experience was terrific from start to end. The customer service at pick-up was excellent. During the rental we had an issue and had to call in but it was quickly handled and resolved. The return was also easy. Finally the car was outstanding.

Answer: I have used them many times, always cheapest, always very new cars, always charming and helpful staff ( Stansted Airport). Every firm will try to get you to upgrade. Buy a 3rd party policy, and just say you have your own cover. Up to now I have never been scammed. I ALWAYS inspect the vehicle before. I drive off. I take photos and make sure I get it inspected and signed off by staff when I take it back.
Answer: Speeding/parking tickets and police action are slow. They keep the deposit until they are sure there will be no problems with any of those costs. (and yeah, would be speeding fine + massive green motion fee).

I can confirm that security deposits are automatically released by Green Motion on the last day of your rental after it has been established that the rental vehicle has been returned in the same condition as it was provided, and there are no further outstanding charges. Whilst in most cases this is available again within 10 working days, unfortunately, this can take up to 30 days depending on the bank that you use. We suggest that you contact your bank as they may be able to speed this process up for you. Green Motion's policy is to use pre-authorised transactions for our security deposits, which ring-fence the amount within your account, not charge it. This pre-authorised transaction will allow us to make charges if necessary at the end of the rental, but unless this occurs no money will leave your account. Due to the nature of this transaction, the release of these funds may not show on your bank statement as a separate transaction. If you believe that you have been charged your security deposit, please contact your bank and ask them to provide proof of the transaction as a charge on the first day of your rental so that we can look further into this for you. Answer: I believe Green Motion are a perfectly fair and respectful company. I suspect you didn't read their Ts&Cs properly. The two customers being served while I was collecting my car had also not read/understood the conditions and were caught by surprise. The representative dealt with them firmly but fairly.
