I can confirm that security deposits are automatically released by Green Motion on the last day of your rental after it has been established that the rental vehicle has been returned in the same condition as it was provided, and there are no further outstanding charges.
Please visit https://greenmotion.com/terms and select the country you rented from to see the deposit information which will advise the general timeframe that you can expect for the release of the deposit.
Whilst in most cases this is available again within 10 working days, unfortunately, this can take up to 30 days depending on the bank that you use. We suggest that you contact your bank as they may be able to speed this process up for you.
Green Motion's policy is to use pre-authorised transactions for our security deposits, which ring-fence the amount within your account, not charge it. This pre-authorised transaction will allow us to make charges if necessary at the end of the rental, but unless this occurs no money will leave your account. Due to the nature of this transaction, the release of these funds may not show on your bank statement as a separate transaction. If you believe that you have been charged your security deposit, please contact your bank and ask them to provide proof of the transaction as a charge on the first day of your rental so that we can look further into this for you.

Staff at Paisley were very professional when dealing with my creditcard issue. My credirt carde was declined causing me a three hour delay to my journey. The staff offered me the use of wifi and kept me warm whilst I wrangled with Barclaycard to discover what had gone wrong and resolved the problem. Only significant criticism was that the bus that collected form the airport could have easily given customer a ride to the local railway station.

ON arrival at the air terminal I called the number for Green Motion. I walked into the car park and the helpful driver was waiting to convey me the very short distance to their premises. I was seen right away and after the short preliminaries my car was waiting for me. I had the car for a week and on returning it to them without any fuss was conveyed back the short distance to the terminal by the same driver. Absolutely no problem or fuss.
Great prices compared to competitors, fast pick up and drop off. I can only suggest.

I was asked if I wanted to pay for a Sun Pass, I said yes as I'm not from FL and wasn't sure if it would be traveling thru tolls or not. After I returned home from my visit I was informed all tolls we open. I called to ask and I was told I asked for it because he had my signature. Yes, I did sign for it. But I didn't know I didn't need it. He refused to issue me a refund.

Answer: DON'T do it. They advertise low and sting you at the counter! Clerks hard sell additional insurance (they get a commission). In Glasgow, Scotland this last August, they tried to get me to pay $800 in insurance to cover a ten day rental that was about $35 a day! Many people have posted about scams where they charged unsuspecting customers for "damages" that were already on the car but the customer may not notice, like a tiny chip in the windshield or a small scratch on the door edge.
Answer: Speeding/parking tickets and police action are slow. They keep the deposit until they are sure there will be no problems with any of those costs. (and yeah, would be speeding fine + massive green motion fee).

Answer: I believe Green Motion are a perfectly fair and respectful company. I suspect you didn't read their Ts&Cs properly. The two customers being served while I was collecting my car had also not read/understood the conditions and were caught by surprise. The representative dealt with them firmly but fairly.
