“Many companies will charge you money to help you apply...”

Many companies will charge you money to help you apply for US government grants but most people do not realize this website lists many US grants and is the official site for this. Before you go and pay money for someone to find you a grant or "free money" as they like to advertise, check out this site.

I have been contacted twice by phone. Each time it was from someone who could not be understood due to a heavy foreign accent and loud background noise. Call center. Gave me names of "Inspectors" who would call me tomorrow who could not be found on the internet nor could the caller verify their identity after questioned. I was given the caller's "Government ID#" which also was not verifiable nor did it take the form of US Government ID's. A "Manager" then came on the line. I asked him to verify the credentials of the caller, the inspector and the connection with my State Government who was allegedly supplying the grant. The manager immediately hung up.

Tip for consumers: Make sure you thoroughly understand this website is offering you a grant, allegedly approved by your state government under a published state government grant system but will not give you the information about the state agency or contact numbers so you can verify the "free money. You never have to pay it back." Says who??
