However, some concerns have been raised regarding limitations in functionality, such as word and card maximums, as well as issues with certain corrections that can feel counterproductive. Saving on word document
January 31, 2018

Joined G to edit my book, I did 50 pages, saved & closed doc, upon opening, I found none of my corrections were saved. Smart as I am I did this several times thinking I or my pc were at fault. Finally, i wrote G about the problem, G says.
[ Please rest assured that the technical team is aware of the problem, Unfortunately, this will not be a quick fix.] they refuse to give me a refund. Of course. Have since received a refund.

I fiddled about with grammarly briefly after beginning post secondary education. The results were underwhelming, but I figured it makes sense for a free service. Later on the sent a coupon for a cheaper subscription so I figured why not try it? I paid for a years worth mistakenly, then realized my mistake and checked to see if it was worth it.

It was not worth it, as this only checks grammar at a very basic level, and does not understand quotations very well. In most of my test documents it barely detected listing errors, sentence fragments and runons. The most you will get of this is a thesaurus and an education at basic level.

I contacted support to let them know I was dissatisfied, and ask for a refund. Note that Grammarly has a "no refunds at any time" policy. Unfortunate, given their high cost and student sided advertising. I can not recommend a service like this to anyone, given there is no way to ensure you will get value out of your money. It basically has resorted to predatory tactics, instead of excellent service in all aspects to get customers.

I tried Grammarly back in its very early days (before customers started getting hit with sneaky auto service charges) and was completely and utterly underwhelmed. Grammarly is useful perhaps to non-English speakers or to many of the unfortunate youngsters of the current generation who slept through English Composition classes and take the majority of their grammar rules from colloquial text speech and emoticon use. For the portion of the population either well-educated or well-experienced with proper written English and basic composition, Grammarly is entirely obsolete. Not only are its grammar suggestions limited to the most obvious grammar flaws, but I was astounded by how many grammar errors it detected that were not errors at all and would have resulted in a grammarly "fix" that would have actually made the structure of the written works even worse (for example, the proper use of semicolons seems to be outside of Grammarly's abilities and it frequently detects sentence fragments that are not actually there.) In short, do not use this tool unless you want a program that serves as no more than a screaming sign of your own English incompetence; proper English users will get by with Word or just fine without this useless program.

Grammarly as marketing is an online spelling and grammar checking tool; I have utilized it on several occasions for writing school papers and creating or revising resumes. Not only does it provide word suggestions, it also corrects punctuation errors, while it integrates itself on many websites to include social media such as Facebook, there are still some websites and apps it cannot be integrated onto, however, copying and pasting content is an easy solution. It also has an advanced feature that you have to pay for a member upgrade in order to access, but I do not find it necessary you really want to set your personal bar very high in writing. I am very pleased with this website and application so far and do hope they continue to evolve it as it's a reletively new online tool available to internet users.

I paid for Grammarly via a special. I got one year for $99. I did not sign up for auto renew. I was just charged $139.95 for one year via Paypal without an email warning me that my subscription was running out or my consent. I have asked for a refund in writing given the fact Grammarly has no live customer service staff. Terrible user experience. Not work $140!

So disappointed!
December 19, 2017

Is there absolutely no way of contacting a person on Grammarly? It is days before Christmas and I was charged 29 dollars. This is sneaky. I read of so many people told this was a free service on limited bases and then so many that have tried to cancel and just kept getting charged. I am so disappointed. The website does a good job of taking you around in circles. For instance, click this or that to get help and it goes right back to the beginning. I just hope I will not be charged EVER again. I will be posting this everywhere I can, if I do not get some sort of reply.

My money were taken from my account without any warning to renew a subscription I did not want as the Word spelling checker is more reliable.

Privileged lazy crooks
December 13, 2017

This is the worst customer service I ever encountered. They will not help. They ask for information they do not need to pretend to be assisting you. The responses are canned. This company needs to be nailed for fraud.

This is amazing... I CAN'T GET ENOUGH! I legit use it for EVERYTHING. I just wish that it was free. I'm using the free version right now whilst typing this. Very good everything. HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT! Already recommended it to my principal to install it in all of the computers at my school. Lol, he said he would consider it.

I would really give it no stars if I could and yes I have removed it from my computer. After writing and correcting and carefully proofreading twice in word I had no mistakes. Yet Grammarly said there was things I had to correct. I did that and then I found a sentence that was completely unrecognisable as anything I had written. Surprised I copied back to Word only to be shocked to find I now had 387 mistakes!
Stay away from it and save your money and especially if your English is not strong.
Read the other reviews here, post your reviews everywhere, these people need to be held responsible. In my country it is unlawful to take money without notification and a service has to provide what it promises.

Use Word, not Grammarly
November 27, 2017

Ive been using Grammarly for about a month now and Ive noticed it fails to pick up on simple grammatical errors, such as: I sent an email to a potential employer today, and I was quite tired while I was writing it, so I wrote: Thanks again for taking the time to speaking with me today and Grammarly didnt catch the mistake. This is just one example of many, and now my employer things I cant write. Dont bother, just use Word.

What would you need it for? I say it's for idiots. A lot of spellings they correct or grammar 'errors' aren't always true. Plus they don't know a lot of old English words such as Beldam or thy. They just correct it to bedlam or they. Morons.

GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK
November 8, 2017

They literally charged my card the second I tried to cancel. They give you the run around trying to get your money back! You have to email them to get your money, but they make it seem like you only have to cancel and you'll be refunded-- seems like they're hoping people wont notice not being refunded within the 7 days. Grammarly makes more mistakes than it corrects. Overall, bad product and terrible user experience
