I am anticipating enjoying some good products tomorrow. My issue with them was that they only sent 60% of my order, charged me the full 40.00+ overnight shipping charge, held me on hold for over 90 minutes before I finally had to hang up (they weren't going to answer anyway) and when I emailed them, they offered to send the original items (six days after they advertised/promised) or refund the cost of the items that the shipping department was too lazy to put in the box. The only response I received a day later was that they were sorry for the "inconvenience." I guess that is the new term for when a company promises a product and a timeline and doesn't deliver on either. Do not patronize this online store. They have no concept of customer service. Either that or they simply don't care. If the products we try tomorrow are sub par, I will be back on to disparage them about the quality as well. They don't really deserve to be in business. They don't care about their customers.

My friends that live in the U. S have been raving about this site. You can buy all your gourmet goodies from here - from truffles to cheese... and the ever so controversial foie gras. So I decided to try it out. I wanted to buy some cheese and some oils and low and behold... no shipment to Canada. BOOO! I still love the site, it's beautifully laid out, great descriptions for each product. Still looking for a Canadian site. If anyone knows of one... let me know.

Recently we ordered white alba truffles but when we received it we stored it overnight at cool NY temperature without opening the box. The next day the truffles had gone bad. We called the store and their response was that we did not follow storage instructions- to be stored in the fridge! OK so this was really overnight in a cool place, so why would they go so bad? OK, the container did not have any visible notification that it should be stored in the fridge --the store's response was it in "on our website". Really? Is this customer service -- shouldn't there be a label on the box for an expensive item that says store at 4C or refrigerate upon arrival! They refused to replace.

Thank you for your review, and thank you for shopping with Gourmet Food Store. Our fresh truffle packages are marked as "perishable" and we do offer storage information on our website. Truffles are extremely fragile and perishable, which is why we only ship them using Priority Overnight delivery service. It is not sufficient to store them at room temperature, even in a cool place. They must be kept refrigerated, preferably wrapped. You can see this information on our product page for the White Alba Truffles. We do sympathize with your disappointment, but unfortunately we cannot be held responsible when an item spoils because it was not stored correctly after delivery.
Once again, thank you for the feedback and for shopping at Gourmet Food Store.

I ordered the 6 pork shanks. I have ordered them before at a different site and they always came individually wrapped. These came in a package of 6 all frozen together. Since all they offer for options is 6 or 12 how would anyone thing they are all in one package. That is way too many for my needs at one time. Very disappointed that now we have to defrost them repackage them and refreeze them.

I've ordered a few times from Gourmet Food Store but never again.
Their orders are fulfilled by various butchers in various cities. I'm in Phoenix, and have had their orders fullfilled by butchers in Seattle (which were fine), but the latest was filled from Los Angeles.
Steaks were ordered as cut to order - 1" thick.
One third of the steaks were so small they could only be served as appetizers. I'm talking 2 1/2" x 2" and 3" x 1 1/2", and these were 3/4" to 1/2" thick. The same steaks I've ordered previously were a decent size, more as they should be as a beef tenderloin steak. It's as though they came off the end of a section of tenderloin. Plus, I ordered 6 lbs and only got 4 lbs.
Sent two emails to *******@GourmetFoodStore.com and not a single reply.
In future, I'll be avoiding them like the plague (or pandemic), and I suggest you do too.

Half of the reviews looking like independent companies take you to the company site and others admitt they get $$ if you order from them... shady practice! Paid reviews!)
