I used to get some great deals here, but recently they have changed their tactics. I bought a Diane Von Frustenberg clutch from their site and the very same clutch was cheaper on Lastcall neiman Marcus. So just compare shop before you buy anything from Gilt again. Customer service rep said they do not guarantee to be the cheaper website!
Gilt has a smaller selection than that of other flash sale sites, but the sales are truly wonderful. Gilt city is a favorite, and the items are all great at amazing deals. They do not have a ton of items, because they select the best items only.

I ordered a pair of shoes, (size 8.5 which has been naturally my shoe size for ever) which looked very nice in the picture. When I received the shoes, they were one size bigger and too wide and they didn't have the look I expected. Well, there was not a return label in the box so I had to call and asked for one! Then I realized that you are not even going to give my money back and keep it hostage so I shop again! This is not acceptable. How do you want me to have a positive experience with Gilt? Or recommend your website to my children & friends who like me, do a lot of their shopping online?

I accidentally bought something through the mobile app that I had placed in my cart by not locking my phone. When I noticed it, I emailed support and asked for it to be cancelled. Within one day I received the confirmation that the order was cancelled. Great!
I question gilts commitment to customer service given 30 day shipment fulfillment. I feel drop shipment sales with no return policy benefits only gilt. Heck of a business plan but I canceled my membership, I get better treatment from janky ole eBay.
Unfortunately, my first gilt order did not turn out as I had hoped. I was shipped an item that was similar to the item I purchased, but not the same. I received a mysterious phone call from GILT the day after I made the purchase. Only thing that I can figure is that they were calling to see if they could substitute the item. Anyway, they said that they would offer me a $30 gilt credit or facilitate a return, so at least they are trying to fix the issue. Plus, I do not believe that the item is a knock off.
Excellent service from Jessica today. This is the first time i've been invited to rate my experience, but i've interacted with other agents as well and all those experiences have been excellent as well. Gilt makes exchanges and returns easy as well.
Gilt do not vet their independent suppliers who sell theses watches. Bought a Versace watch V race Chrono for $700 initially priced $1,3000, what a steal I thought! Was shipped a defective watch with a glued CROWN. Just fell off trying to put it on. $700 gone... Gilt won't take it back. Actually have a watch repair professional looked at it and testify it was glued. I'm actually taking this up legally, just thought I should inform everyone about the scamming business Gilt is into. Too good to be true? Run!
I love my new hangbag! The case is quite safe and has enough space for all of my essentials. Because each pocket is the ideal size for keeping items such as snacks and phones, transitioning from doing errands to attending a meeting does not present any difficulties.
Stay away from these liars. Amazing that they aren't stopped by authorities! Scamming people form the hard working money. They make their profits by selling 50%+ fakes and defective items. Just look at the reviews: of 50% bad. They were able to scare me over a fake Creed perfume I paid $360 and can't get my money back because of Final sale. They had the balls to tell me to file a claim with the credit card. Pieces of $#*!. Careful!

Purchased ans paid for a dress & they said they ran out and automaticallt shipped a totally different item. Meanwhile i had to wait 2 months to get my money back being forced to return the unsolicated item. The worst customer service ever & rudest reps.

I recently placed an order on gilt for some food items. When I went to place the order got a message that said it did not go through. I waited a bit and then tried again. I received an email confirmation for TWO orders and immediately emailed the company to cancel one order. Except they refused or were unable to cancel. So I got two orders and I barely even needed the first order. They continue to give me the runaround and are refusing to refund me and now I am stuck with more than I need.

If this is the standard business practice of Gilt, offering a very specific item and than once purchase is made changing the offer, not a company that I want to do business with.
Ordered 2 mens bracelets from King Baby on Gilt, after quite a wait for them to actually ship, I received a women's bracelet for another company Tory Burch. Said sorry but the bracelets you ordered are no longer in stock and we can wait list you for those once you return the bracelet you received in error. Said no I want my money back! Said they would send back money once return processed and don't use the label they sent with the purchase I need to wait for a new label to use. That's a heavy necklace lol! Not my package! I have spent hours and hours trying to locate a non existent package! And again they do nothing!
I have been ordering from Gilt for several years and have never been disappointed. Fabulous merchandise! Love the clothes, shoes and boot selection. Shipments arrive in a timely manner, packaging is immaculate. Shoes and boots have never been out of the original box as I have experienced from other sites.

I ordered something and never received it, when i called customer service they told me it was delivered. They then told me to ask my neighbors if they signed for the package and then to call them back 48 hours later. Why would I go and knock on everyone's door to see if they have my shoes? And 48 hours thats a joke, I already know that I won't get my shoes back, why can't you just credit me back? Why am I paying for shoes that I never received? This website is a complete scam and their customer service is unprofessional!
I have spent thousands of dollars on GILT.com over the past several months; when I do not have to call up the call center in Ireland the transactions are fantastic. Every time that I DO have to call it becomes more and more pathetic. Even the supervisors are reluctant to accept and resolve.
The robotic "I apologize for your frustration" is disingenuous and vacuous. Today the person who accepted my call was unable to spell my first name--ANTHONY--correctly, even after four attempts. Her retort, after two minutes of frustrated spelling of each letter: I apologize but the call quality is not very good. A shockingly feckless burning of twenty minutes, even after the Supervisor came to the phone (after two requests): no resolution, and amplified frustration.
Recently Gilt sent me an e-mail stating 30% off "most waited for area rugs". I found one I was interested in and but it in my cart with the promotion code. It only showed a discount of $75.00 dollars. When I called to find out why, I couldn't understand the person who had a very strong India accent. Then I was hanged up on. Second call an another India accented voice I actually thought at first I was speaking to the same person. I wasn't. Anyway I asked about the 30% off question. The sell was actually a $75.00 off sale not a 30% as stated. In fine print and almost non- see-able print it does state up to $75.00.

Purchased a rug. Ater supposedly purchase went through, I check my account to see about shipping and there is a note the rug is out of stock. Next day I check site again and now rug is available but for $500.00 more. Called and was told that rug was out of stock last night and in stock today... Will not honor original purchase price. No explanation except error on Gilt's part.

Answer: DO NOT purchase from Gilt! They state they "stand behind the authenticity" of their products. THEY DO NOT! I paid $975.96 for a LV handbag. Later, (after the 30 day refund policy) it started falling apart. Found out it was a fake. Gilt will not exchange or do anything to correct this. It's horrible customer service.
