I recently ordered kids emerald earrings. I them and they were clearly not emerald earrings, they were a light green and they were peridot colored instead. I contacted the company and was asked to send a picture. When I sent the picture of the peridot earrings I was told that those were the correct earrings on the website. I went on the website again and for sure the emerald earrings looked like a darker color and were not light green. Awful customer service. Any jeweler would know the obvious difference between emerald and peridot. I'm so disappointed because if I return them I'm out of the shipping cost which is ridiculously unfair because I did not receive what I ordered. They should honor this. Do NOT shop here. Horrible customer service.
Bought my daughter a star earring. Stone fell out. After other reviews, it seems to be common with their products and they make you pay. I refuse to pay for something that was poorly made. She went swimming with it and they claim it's not meant to swim with. We have always swam with our earrings on and have never had a stone fell out. Poor customer service. Very unhappy and unsatisfied with this business. You can see in the pic all the prongs are still in place and not snagged or anything, but the stone still fell out
Gemologica website photos are misleading and jewelry is much smaller than portrayed. Colors are misrepresented. You'll have to pay a hefty "restocking" fee if you return an item. Customer service (owner) is very unprofessional.
Gemologica.com is the worst company, especially regarding customer service! TERRIBLE customer service. I'm not the type that is hard to please or who writes reviews but this called for it and I had to warn others. They have no phone number so you fill out the online form and get an email response from the rudest individual, named Judy. GOOD LUCK to anyone who decides to roll the dice with them and don't expect friendly service either. See for yourself. I'd never order from them again nor would I ever recommend them!
I ordered a birthstone ring for my son in lieu of a high school class ring. He looked around quite a bit and settled on one from Gemologica. It arrived on time and was as pictured. Actually it was a bit more substantial looking, which is good since my son is 6'2'. I didn't have a need to interact with customer service. The ring arrived with our usps carrier just like any other package.
The customer service staff were rude and not very helpful... they refuse to refund my money. The ring I purchased was poorly made and fell apart within hours of receiving it. Horrible products as you can see from other reviews. They are selling cheap poorly made products at high cost. DO NOT BUY PRODUCTS FROM THEM. Just read the other reviews. I have yet to find a good review of this company. That should speak volumes
Extremely dissatisfied with this company. I ordered a cross necklace for my son and it looked great on line. When I received it, it looked so cheap. It looked nothing like the picture. I paid extra to have it shipped to me on time. I then had to pay to have it shipped back and a restocking fee was charged... grrrrr! Who do they think they are? Verizon? Anyway my biggest complaint is there is no phone number. Everything has to be done via email. Long story short... I ended up handing over $19.50 and have nothing to show for it. Buyers beware!
Bought a cheap ring $300 but it looked great in the picture and when I got it the gem was not centered and you could see through the gap between the gem and gold. I honestly couldn't gift it as it would make me look like I had gone to a gas station and bought it for a quarter. I returned it and was only given 66% back. I have emailed and called and nobody calls me back. I don't even think it's their actual number. So they have no physical address, no email only a form, their phone number is disconnected ( the times I've tried) and their stuff is cheaper than expected and they won't return calls. I'll keep you updated if anything changes.
Received another email saying they couldn't give me a defect return because I also mentioned it was bigger than expected.
Might be best to shop at a more reputable store.
This company applies a 10% or 25% restocking fee to returned items. The 25% is for custom orders, but you don't know if an item ordered is custom or standard when ordering straight from the website. A 25% restocking fee is exorbitant. I returned a pair of earrings, because they were much smaller than they appeared on the webisite. Dimensions for jewelry is not part of the description. I won't be using this company in the future.
I purchased a ring for my husband for christmas for $285, it was a white gold ring with a blue star sapphire. The quality was horrible, thin hollow metal with absolutely no weight to it. It literally felt like one that you can get out of a gumball machine. Bottomline, he wore it once and it fell apart and the stone fell out. Save your money, do not buy from here. Quality is not worth it.
Zero stars if that was an option!
Reviews are deceiving. How do I know this? I questioned the company based on what I read. They proved everything I read was not what they represent. I ordered on a weekend, had an confirmation and a tracking number also on a weekend. In just over a week, I received my order, all the way across the continent, through Customs, over the border and into Canada. The Bracelet I ordered is beautiful and of excellent quality. I would not hesitate to use them again or to recommend them to others!
Purchased a ruby ring from gemologica and the stone was set with glue only. No bezels whatsoever. The stone fell out on the third day. They absolutely refused to correct it by resetting it properly and had the nerve to block my IP address so they wouldn't have to hear from me again.
I had to bring it to a local jeweler who charged me 80 to set the stone properly with 4 gold prongs. Horrible business example. Avoid at all costs. My local jeweler would be happy to verify my review. Ask for Richard at Something special in Windsor ca. He will confirm the shoddy work and unacceptable business ethics.
My fiancé and I decided to order our engagement rings from Gemologica.com last month in March of 2021 We are still within the 30 -Day return window. We ordered 2 alexandrite rings we ordered an oval cut set in a silver band and a cushion cut set in a gold band. Waited a couple weeks and when they finally arrived the gold ring was completely wrong it featured a barrel cut that we had never seen before and did not want. We immediately emailed them back to which at first they tried to convince us that's what we ordered then retracted that and said we could return it the next day. They never sent any return packaging or labels or any instructions other than send it back. I sent it back via the USPS and it was stolen by an employee. Now Gemologica is refusing to send the ring I paid for due to the post office not delivering the ring. I paid 670 for this ring and never received what I ordered. If I ordered food and get the wrong food and send it back am I out my money if the driver eats it?
I ordered an alexandrite birthstone ring from Gemologica in early November. About ten days later, Customer Service notified me that my ring would be late because the stone sent for my ring did not meet Gemologica's standards. The ring was sent by upgraded delivery eight days later. Due to the unusually high volume of Christmas mail and the depletion of Post Office staff due to COVID, the ring took two weeks to arrive. Customer Service was in constant contact with me until the ring arrived. The ring is spectacular. The stone is incredibly beautiful as is the gold work on the ring. I couldn't be more pleased with the ring or the service. John M
gemologica.com has a great create your own ring and jewelry site and it works better than trying to do it yourself. I can make my own earrings, but trying to bead out your own ring is next to impossible. Great value too as I know what it costs to put these things together.
We bought a white gold Claddagh ring for our daughter's 18th birthday for $225. It was something she had been wanting for years and she was very specific with her requirements (she wanted her birthstone as the heart and a diamond in the crown). The only place she found to make this design was Gemologica. On the website the ring looked lovely. It was to be a wonderful and very special 18th birthday gift. When it arrived, it was a pale imitation of the image on the website. Worse still, the diamond in the crown was missing. We emailed Gemologica with photos to report the issue. What then followed was the most unprofessional, rude and dishonest communication imaginable from Jennifer and Judy whereby they refused to accept the diamond was missing despite photographic evidence. We then went to a professional jewellers who confirmed 1) there was no diamond and 2) no diamond could ever have been embedded as there was no space for one. As Gemologica accused us of lying, we then sent the jeweller's contact details to Gemologica so they could hear it from the professionals. They then accused the professional jewellers of lying. We then asked them to select any jeweller's of their choice to whom we would take the ring for assessment. They refused. Eventually we had to refer the matter to PayPal who obviously found in our favour. Be warned: this company is totally disreputable and the jewellery you receive is nothing like what they advertise on their website.
Recieved 14k and peridot mens ring. Ring was very chinsey/thin and light. Looked mass produced. I looked at the cusion cut stone under my loop and noticed stone was chipped and had imperfections. As a jeweler I know they saw these. Am curently trying to return to get a stone worth keeping. We shall see if the return policy is what they say it is.
Fist of all, good luck speaking to some one over the phone, the phone number on their website is not existent, all communication is only via email. The way you will be treated with this company is extremely UNPROFESSIONAL.
I placed a order worth over $1,300 CAD and specifically asked this company (as the sender) to ensure delivery was set as Signature Required (I even emailed them the day after I placed my order to remind them, and got not reply). The company ignored my ask, and they sent items (Diamonds) over regular mail (I mean, when you order Diamonds, is common sense to use the proper delivery protocols).
After weeks, I had not yet received what I ordered and
Gemologica is simply saying ‘you have to deal with the post office, we have nothing to help with'. I am now filing missing package with Canada Post as well as speaking with my credit card company. I did insist and reached out to Gemologica again for assistance in locating the package, in return, they replied to me via email in CAPITAL LETTERS (yelling) saying that I was a fraud to them and they are done communicating with me.
I can not believe the lack of professionalism, I feel like I'm dealing with a company ran by teenagers, it is a real joke.
Also, watch out because almost all items they offer are what they call ‘custom made' that means that you automatically will lose about 40% restocking fee if you ever need to return.
This has been the WORST customer service experience I have dealt with.
These $57 earrings (14k gold and pink topaz) are so tiny they are hard to see. I feel taken advantage of, I'll never order anything from them again.
Excellent company! My ring is more than perfect! Customer service is beyond helpful. Will definitely go back soon for the matching pendant.

Theodore Capellos, we are sorry to receive this review from you. It is necessary, however, to back up one step so that an honest and accurate situation is portrayed. Having said that, the same day you received your ring from us you wrote to us that you were going to have your local jeweler inspect the ring to ensure the quality of the stone, and of the ring itself. We encouraged you to do so. Several days later you wrote back thanking us for providing you with such a high-quality ring, one that your local jeweler stated had a higher quality stone than expected, and overall was of exceptional value. Several days after receiving that email we were again contacted by you stating that the stone had fallen out of the ring due to your local jeweler not properly resetting it after it was removed for inspection. You then demanded that we not fix the ring, but that we compensate you for having your local jeweler fix the stone that he himself screwed up. It should have been obvious that this expectation was unreasonable. This, however, did not prevent you from getting both aggressive and threatening with our custom service reps, repeatedly. We do take customer service and our feedback very seriously. It is our practice to correct every situation possible to our customer’s satisfaction. We unfortunately, however, can only take responsibility for our jeweler’s work, not yours.
