I sold Gazelle a near-perfect iPhone 5 however, they reduced their original bid by 18% after the phone was received. They said the phone's condition had scratches and/or scuffs. That is a LIE... just a "bait and switch" tactic by a dishonest company. Stay away!
Do not sell your device to this company if you need the money within the time frame they advertise. I was told it would be 3-5 days. I contacted them on the 5th day and was told it would be 3-5 business days. When I contacted them on the 5th business day I was told that it could be another 5 business days due to staffing issues. I find this unacceptable.
Gazelle offered me $230 then lowered to $160 saying. " Not Flawless Device: We found some signs of wear; therefore, your device cannot be considered flawless.
Scratches: We found some scratches that are more significant than expected."
This phone was near flawless with a brand new batters. It had a couple of very "fine" scrstches which were hardly noticeable. It appears they offer offer then lower once they get your phone.
I sent my iPhone 6 to them late October. It is November 19 and I have yet to get paid for it. When I called to ask for my money, the "Customer Care" supervisor, Garrett Kirkland, was not accommodating and not the most pleasant. Me and my family have used Gazelle in the past, but this ridiculous experience will keep me and my family from using them again. I strongly advise anyone considering this company to look elsewhere to sell/buy.
Company revised my phone offer from 510 to 155 stating my phones condition was wrongly indicated. The phone I traded in was a very gently used Samsung S21. I chose to decline the shady swapped value and requested to receive the phone back. The phones was shipped back in a cardboard box with NO peanuts, paper, or anything to secure the phone. I am amazed at how horrible Gazelle handled the whole ordeal. Never again!
Gazelle could not make it any easier to send an item for trade-in. Also, I received a bit more than the original estimate a pleasant surprise. I will definitely use Gazelle in the future. My only feedback would be to keep the customer more informed after an item is checked in. It could be as simple as an email that gives an estimate of when the inspection process will be completed, etc.
Beware. They offer your a fair price for your phone but then downgrade the condition to 10% of what they offered. I put a brand new ( one I had saved when I got the phone)back on my phone and they claimed it was severely cracked and downgraded my phone 90% of their offer. Do not do business with this company!
After my attempt to buy a used iPhone failed at Glyde (see my review), I attempted to buy the same thing at Gazelle. Here are the problems I faced:
--They did not include a charger with the phone. Ok, they sent it subsequently.
--I paid $20 extra for an "excellent" phone, but it still had nicks. Ok, I can live with that.
--After copying all my information to the new phone, I discovered the sound was crackly. That I can't live with.
Admittedly, I should have checked the sound before doing all that work. I subsequently went to the Apple Store so that one of the "geniuses" could verify the the sound was off the mark.
I give Gazelle high marks for returning my money in a timely manner. However, they will not send a replacement phone. You have to order again.
To sum up, their quality control is lacking. I gave up and bought a new phone.
I sold my iPad on Gazelle. They placed a fair value on the item. Returning was easy in the prepaid shipping box. I opted for the Amazon gift card and had added to my account in about 3 business days. I was very happy with the entire process.
I have done business with Gazelle 4-5 times thus far. I must say that the professional, prompt, and efficient service is exemplary for any business. I always feel confident and secure working with Gazelle as a company I can trust in selling and purchasing electronics. Thank You Gazelle!
Appraised my near perfect condition Verizon iPhone 5s for $201. Sent it in and got a counter offer of $151. Their reason given was because they claimed my phone was T Mobile and not Verizon. I have never had T Mobile in my life and I have had Verizon for about 15 years. I had them send my phone back and I will go elsewhere even if I don't get better somewhere else out of principle. After that, my curiosity caused me to check Gazelle's appraisal of my phone again and it is now $151. They just didn't want to honor the original price so they used a bull$#*! excuse.
Having replaced Apple equipment and not knowing what to do with the old, I check online and found Gazelle. Great experience trading in an iMac and two iPads. So quick and easy and reimbursed promptly. Awesome!
Ordered a phone paid for expediated shipping and after spending 2 hours at ATT, they could not get it connect. I called customer service and they could or would not send a replacement phone so. Returning it and will never deal with this company again.
30 point check is a total line of BS.
Don't waste you time and peace of mind sending phone to this business, if you decline you wont get it as you sent, you will get in a zip lock and they mention they are not liable for any damage. If you want to accept what ever low ball number they give you then it works, if not you will not get your phone as is, interesting they recycle everything you send other phone before you accept or decline offer. They are not courtesy enough to claim anything if you shipped it with phone and decline offer. Technically if we decline offer they have to send it as is correct but no they wont. Crap business. Just to rob others in need. Be careful when you sell them, i never bought from them, hopefully dangerous to buy too. Instead spend few hundred more and buy new ones.
The steps are so easy and straight forward is was amazing. I received payment timely and for the exact amount quoted sight unseen. What could be better. Gazelle is an amazing service. I have used this service twice and both were exceptional.
They give you very thorough instructions on how to prepare and mail your devices. Their receipt and judging whether the devices fit your description is very fast and they instantly put the money into PayPal. I was able to dispose of a heavy iMac for free and better than that, I got money for it.
I would just like to warn everyone who is thinking about buying a phone from this company to not buy anything from them. We purchased an Iphone 6 less than a year ago that no longer will even turn on. The battery was loose so we took it to Apple to look into, after inspecting it they said that Gazelle had replaced the battery and other parts with after market parts from Mexico. The motherboard no longer works and the phone is completely useless. After calling Gazelle I was told that it is past the 30 day warranty and there is nothing they can do. I find it very sad they will not help us when the problem with the phone has nothing to do with us, but the parts they put it in.
If you do decide to purchase I wish you luck and hopefully your experience is better than mine.
Great Price! I was quoted only *$90 with my broken screen Iphone 6plus, but when they receive my package, they contacted me with and updated price of $165! What an honest company! Will always trade in or sell my used phone of tablet here.
Both of my transactions involving my trusty iMac and a MacBook have been stellar. It has gotten better with their nifty box as well, which made packing everything a breeze. I was happy with the trade in value as well.
Easy and smooth process. Sent in my iPhone 5 and received more than the initial offer. I've sold to Gazelle several times before and have had a great experiences. I've a MPB 15" that I will likely sell via Gazelle.
Answer: No experience with that. Experience with their staff and their customer service, don't fo business with them. My phone was returned in October, and I still have not received my refund. They finally sent me an email saying my return was received, in December but tracking showed it received in October, and still no refund.
Answer: I would not buy from or sell to Gazelle regardless of what they claim.
Answer: No! Dishonest! Had to file a dispute with my credit card company tinged my money back and that took 3 months
Gazelle has a rating of 2.3 stars from 1,076 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Gazelle most frequently mention customer service, perfect condition and screen protector. Gazelle ranks 7th among Consignment sites.
