Product was ordered and never delivered. I have been trying to call the company only to have call wait time around an hour and then being disconnected. Emails sent to cancel the order and refund money are answered with an automated response.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
I only wish that I had read current reviews before I placed an order with them.
I have been informed that the company went through a re-organization recently giving less hands to meet needs in some areas and other members with new titles and responsibilities. There will take time to adjust. I was also told at the same time there has been software improvements that didn't quite play well with other parts of the process. Coupled into the general state of no one wants to work service type jobs, they are short staffed.
Their products are great quality and when something doesn't meet a customer's needs, they replace or refund the item.
I'm sorry that they are struggling so and understand how difficult it was for the employee to admit their short comings.
It is only one season. They have a great record overall. Take a moment and realize how many of us on here have been in their shoes.
I ordered a large potato growing bag, sufficient soil to fill it, and seed potatoes. Foolish. I received materials from drop shippers (soil and seed potatoes from two sources) within a couple of weeks, but I have not received the growing bag. Time sensitive. It's getting too late. Absolutely no communication about a backorder or when to expect. Phone waits are exceedingly long, so I e-mailed as they said I should expect a response within 72 hours. No response six days later. Still get advertising e-mails, but I won't be ordering again. I today decided to endure the phone wait. Estimated time 52 minutes, and I'm now about 90 minutes into the wait. These people should be ashamed! Never again.
I ordered a garden hose and a hose holder on April 21,2024 and I have not received it. I looked on the website and the status says "In Process." There is no indication of when it will ship (if at all). I emailed (twice) them asking about the status of my order. I received no response. I tried calling the 1-800 number but the wait times are over 30 minutes. Judging from prior reviews, it looks like maybe they don't have enough staff. Meanwhile, the charge on my credit card shows as a hold, and I can't get the bank to deny payment until the charge is posted. So, I'm basically in limbo without a garden hose! Had I known that shipping was going to take this long, I would have bought the hose at my local garden center. Because no-one at the company will reply to my attempts to contact them, I'm going to have to go out and buy a garden hose and then hope I can dispute the charge with my bank. I won't be ordering from this company again.
I wish I had read the reviews before I placed an order with this company. I placed an order on March 31 and 3 weeks later, it still hasn't shipped. They keep debiting my financial account though. I'm filing a complaint with the Vermont Attorney General's office.
I ordered a seed starting kit and mix from Gardeners Supply Co. (Total $70+!) After 11 days, I checked on my order status, and it's still "processing." Hasn't even shipped yet. When I called customer service, was there was a 23-minute wait to speak with a rep. Unacceptable. If I had checked reviews of the company, I never would have ordered from them. Avoid!
Ordered item, never shipped, never notified me it was "out of stock." I checked 11 days after I ordered to track the order, then the website conveniently said that function was temporarily unavailable. How convenient. There is No information on their website about how to cancel an order. I wish I had checked their business profile here before ordering. Will never order from them again.
What a hugely disappointing experience I had today. I've ordered some raised bed corners a week ago and told they're unlikely to ship and the next week, that order fulfillment is taking over two weeks across-the-board.
They make a big deal about being employed, but I couldn't find an employee who had the decency to at least offer expedited shipping. Once they do get their act together. Poor, poor, poor.
Very, very slow processing from ordering to shipping. Was one month. Ridiculous. It took so long to get it shipped that I was not sure if I paid.
I placed an order for some seed starting medium on February 15th, I was not told otherwise so I assume it was in stock. It is now March 2nd and I am still waiting for my order to be delivered.
I called customer service and I was told that they were backed up on shipping orders and I get that I guess but this is absolutely ridiculous.
Also I assume that when you only work 5.5 hours a day that it is hard to fulfill your customers orders.
I never received my order and I paid more than $30.00 USD. They said that order was delivered. I will never buy from this company and I will never recommend this place to anyone not even to my enemies
One afternoon I ordered 3 privacy screens and very early the next morning realized they weren't right for my project. I tried to cancel by phone and internet but they said it was too late. A FedEx tracking number had not even been established. They did not intercept it from seller, (it had only been 12 hour) but the screens took 3 weeks to arrive. I used the cheapest shipper to return them and it cost $245.94. With electronic technology today I feel they should have been able to cancel this order. Also, there were no packing slips in the boxes, so no return form with return labels, as I was told there would be.
Still have not gotten my seeds. They say they were delivered. Be careful. A sham company. Disgraceful!
Do not even consider buying the small sitting stool that folds down for a knee support. Great idea but they use cheap plywood for the insert and if you leave it outside it simply rots which is what ours did in less than a year and crashed while I was sitting on it. I am replacing the plywood with maple and it should work OK though the springs and other parts are pretty flimsy. Simply not worth whatever they charge.
I'm amazed by the rudeness of customer support. I won't be spending any money with these people again.
I have several of their copper plant trays that I use instead of plant saucers. They look good and do not leak or turn green.
Last week I ordered two more of these tray sets. A few hours after I placed the order, I discovered that I needed a third set.
The person I spoke to at Gardener's was very pleasant and accommodating. Although she could not change the original order, she gave me a discount on the second order in order to minimize the increase in shipping costs that would be generated by having two orders instead of one.
I wish I had read the reviews before placing my order.
But, the reviews about poor customer service are consistent with my experience.
Many of their products are nothing more that orders through a third party vendor.
Buyer beware--- if you like inflated prices and poor customer service they are for you. Otherwise, steer clear.
Placed an order for tomato cages on May 15. Finally received an email on May 28 stating that a FedEx label was created and ready to ship with a delivery date of June 2. On June 1 I called GS customer service because when I clicked on the tracking number it showed that my package had not moved. Customer service told me to wait a few more days and that FedEx was not displaying the tracking. I then called FedEx who verified that they had not received the package. As of June 4 my package was never received by FedEx. When calling Gardeners Supply customer service again and telling them that the package was not received as I had verified this with a FedEx representative, Gardeners Supply then stated that they were having issues with their warehouse, staff shortage, illness, etc. I requested a refund and was then told they would charge me a fee then I was transferred to another person who stated I could not receive a refund at all. Then again onto another customer service staff who finally refunded me my money after I threatened to call my bank and register a complaint. I will never place an order for anything with this company. If they cannot fill orders then stop taking them. Also, there is nothing mentioned on their website regarding shipping delays. Poor way to do business.
We purchased a galvanized steel raised bed. One would expect a durable well made product. What we received was a piece of flimsy junk. I will never purchase anything from them again. Buyers beware!
I have been a customer of Gardners Supply for almost 15 years. Loved their products until this year. Probably 10 years ago, I bought a veg trug. A large planter box for on the deck. Guaranteed satisfaction for life! Shouldn't need any sealant ever. However about 6 years ago I resealed it with the recommended Eco sealant anyway since I had emptied it. I bought about $400 in upgrades this year and had to empty it again. Massive damage from carpenter ants! The ants would not have shown interest if it had not been rotted, Emailed. Response boils down to: they do not guarantee their expensive wood products (despite the fact it doesn't say that anywhere on the website), the expensive sealant doesn't seal, and they would rather get back their expensive upgrades and loose a customer than spend their cost to replace the grower I would have bought products for for another 10 plus years. Very short sighted and fraudulent practices. Buy elsewhere.
Answer: They're one of two businesses who currently stock heavy duty tomato cages. Now that we finally have those, hopefully we'll never need to shop there again.
Answer: I think it's a real company, just a bad one. Fake companies don't have customer service. They have customer service... it's just terrible.
Answer: VERY DIFFICULT! If you actually get through they put you on hold forever, customer service employees have no idea what's going on. If you do email you have to send multiple emails before you get a reply then you will get conflicting information.
