This place had one of the best prices for a Canon Powershot G7 X, but unlike their competitors with similar or better prices (who ship from Hong Kong), this one was being shipped straight from the US. Similarly, it had the US plug for the battery charger (although it wasn't the more convenient fold-out plug, but the small extension plug). I called to verify that my shipping address was to a friend and not me, and the first customer support guy was quite rude and interrupted my question over and over (so that I was never able to finish asking it) and thus never answered it. The second guy when I called back was super friendly and helpful though. Overall I'd say it's definitely a trustworthy business with excellent prices and quick shipping, and a customer support line that actually works.
I thought I should have received a memory card with my order but when I called you someone said that the black one did not come with a memory card. Sure glad I found out before Xmas--if I sent it my Granddaughter would not have been able to use it on Christmas. Now I have to go buy one before I send it.
Wasn't sure if the price was real or if the camera was going to be a refurbished one. But it was an original camera at the price when the camera first came out on the market. I've read about Amazon's dynamic pricing that keeps ratcheting the price up on items until it reaches a point where folks stop buying. That's great for retailers, but not great folks who want an item at the original price, but can't afford to pay the dynamic price. So I'm thrilled with the price and the shipping was faster than expected.
I'm improving my rating because Gadget Circuit resolved my issue by giving me a refund for the item sold. Reasons why I'm still not giving a great rating: I thought I was buying a new camera; I got a camera where the list of contents printed on the box did not match the contents in the box (manual and warranty card missing, different USB cable as far as I could tell). Gadget Circuit did resolve the issue, but was at first very hard to reach (different phone hours than posted on their site, no further reply, no offer to send a new camera with all the content which makes me think they may only have these mismatching packages for some reason). Only when I complained at shoppersapproved.com and the Better Business Bureau did I get an offer for a full refund, which went through smoothly. For me personally, the experience was bad enough that I wouldn't recommend or use again.
I think the lens is an import model and not a US model. Am concerned whether I will be able to get service from Tamron is needed. My understanding is that Tamron does not service import models in USA. Certain camera bodies were listed as import models on the web site, but this lens was not so I had assumed this to be a USA/Canada model.
Site crashes a few times while I was ordering...could have been my old IE version, I do not know.
Also paid for expedited order, the 4-day option, and it arrived in two.
I initially had some problems with customer service, but I appreciate that you guys responded to my earlier comments and seemed interested in resolving them. Thanks.
