I had snap kitchen and unfortunately they quit delivering to my zip code. So I tried freshly. Literally awful, food tastes like canned, re-warmed, or boiled, tasteless food. I cancelled after one delivery. We didn't even want to eat the meals we paid for and received, that's how bad they are.
We were given a gift voucher on Freshly, which we used up. Cost is too high to keep going, so we cancelled. When you cancel on their website, they instantly e-mail that your subscription is re-activated. I e-mailed their customer service (Alexander) and asked for a cancellation which he confirmed. But no - it's auto-reactivated and the next customer service rep (Will) can't do a thing about it. This time I blocked them in Paypal. Freshly is a fraud.
The chef isn't crying in their apron about the cancellation. They're busy fraudulently reactivating accounts.
The food is very bland and lacks flavor. Also very high in sodium. We tried it as a gift for an elderly person and within 2 days of delivery and before he could try the food they charged my account for another order which we didn't want. The manager said too bad so sad you can't cancel. I will never order from them again and I will tell everyone I know. Hope it was worth it freshly. Shame on you!

When it first started, the meals were actually pretty good. When they got bought by Nestle, the quality plummeted to garbage. I would not even feed this trash to my dog. They are completely inedible now. I'd give zero stars if I could. Nestle ruined Freshly.

Horrible company. I'm not one to complain, but how would you all know that. But I'm not. I was purchasing meals for my 92 year old mother. It just didn't work out for her. The meals were decent. I got an email from Freshly to download their app. So I did. Unbeknownst to me, because of me downloading their app, my next order was doubled. So I had (have) a credit of $78.00. I have since cancelled my subscription, because like I said, it just didn't work out with my 92 year old mother. I have been arguing for weeks to receive a credit. Freshly simply will not. A reputable company? I'm furious. They have no problem deducting $$$ from my credit card - how hard is it to put it back in? This is truly absurd that this so-called reputable company will not reimburse me - whether it was my mistake or not. Do NOT do business with them. There are many other places to buy your food. Watch your back.

Meals are mushee and overcooked. We followed directions perfectly and after 6 different meal options we were DONE. I even got sick from their brisket meal. When I asked for my money back I was told NO refund. I could have a credit for a future order. We've cancelled our subscription. Very disturb that this food service is given such high ratings. The food is aweful.
I purchased a sizeable gift card from Freshly for my mom, who in July 2022 was home convalescing after a long stay in the hospital. When she went online to sign up for freshly meal delivery, she was forced to provide her own credit card number despite having a gift card, which she was told was required for "registration purposes." After placing her first order, she learned that freshly charged her credit card for the meals delivered and did not use the funds on the gift card. When she called to complain, she was advised that she did not place the order properly. Freshly also refused to refund her card and use the funds on the gift card. Needless to say my mom cancelled her account and we are donating the gift card I sent her to a food bank, to the extent that it can be used. It's a racket, the CS reps are useless and a total waste of $. Would never recommend.

As stated on our site and FAQ, our gift cards are purchased for a specific meal plan and a subscription must be created to use the gift card code. They sent the wrong meals and I immediately contacted them. They offered $20 of credit for 5 meals I could not eat. The meals cost 10 or 11 a piece and they acknowledged the error but would only give me a $20 credit. This was week 2. I stopped it. If you can't get what you ordered and can't get a credit what good is it?
I figured i would try out some of the meals so i ordered a whole bunch little did i know that i was automatically going to be getting the same meals a week later. It did not say anything about that! Had i know i would have cancelled or at the very least changed some of the meals that were horrible.

It's one of those services that requires a credit card to do anything. When you sign up for a trial or even purchase a gift certificate that automatically enrolls you into weekly orders. They just continue to charge you and send them. Canceling is next to impossible. It's a scam.

I love cooking and I love to have food delivered. I've tried a few different services, but I've always been disappointed with what they sent. I've been trying to find a better service, and I found one recently called Freshy. They have a variety of tasty products, and their customer service is great. Absolutely terrible. Do not order from this place. After you choose your meals they change them on you and give you the same exact same meal as substitutes because they are overstocked and push the product onto their customers. After constantly asking them to fix the problem they refuse and after canceling the membership they still try to charge you!

I needed to cancel my order due to being out of town the weekend it will arrive, and Helen K was able to cancel my order for the week and apply a credit to my account for when I resume weekly orders, she was very helpful! Freshly is awesome and customer service was fantastic

After one of my meals arrived damaged and opened, Kenny was able to quickly verify via photo and issue a refund immediately. This was extremely helpful and painless for me. It's nice to know that Freshly Support is easy to work with and makes me feel comfortable reaching out again in the future if there are any additional issues.

It is sooooo terrible I had to stop eating and come give somewhere to write a review.
Let me start by saying these meals are just microwavable trash. Literally nothing special about them. They don't feel fresh by any means and you can find cheaper and better Microwavable meals at trader Joe's.
The first couple meals were okay. Fettuccini and lasagna. It was whatever. Nothing special. Definitely not worth the price but edible.
It just got worse from there.
I ate a steak and mashed potato dish. The steak was like cardboard, but what made me write this review is a teriyaki bowl that was God awful. After the recommended time in the microwave I took it out and it was just a soggy mushy glob of rice. So gross. How is this business still up and running I have no idea. Total scam.
I received the wrong set of meals today, a first in more than 2.5 years of service. I contacted the on-line chat in the support menu, which responded immediately and put me through to "a human" (that made me laugh). They simply asked that I take a photo and I received a full refund immediately. I spoke specifically with someone named August, who was very professional, apologetic, and worked quickly, something I always appreciate. I love this meal delivery service- the food is incredibly well made, delicious and healthy (I have lost 18 pounds eating well, though that was not the intended purpose of my subscription- I am fully satiated after eating a perfectly well balanced meal, I just add a piece of fruit). I have been pleased at the increasing variety, and I haven't had one meal I didn't like (a lot). That's saying quite a bit for nearly 3 years with an expanding menu. Keep doing what you're doing, Freshly!

I've tried 2 of the 6 meals I ordered. Frankly, I'm thinking of throwing out the other 4. They are edible, but that's about it. They come already prepared, but Frozen Trader Joe's meals are much better by a factor of 1000! If you don't mind cooking Every Plate is leagues above these for half the cost.

You don't want to eat this, it isn't fresh at all. It tastes like it's a year old and frozen for a year. There's so much packaging that you just throw away. It's awful seeing the waste they give back to Mother Earth.

The food is tasty and way better than any frozen dinner you can get at the grocery. I appreciate that a business has finally come up with and executed on the idea of delivering to your front door fresh, pre-cooked meals.

We will either remove an item and replace with something new, update the recipe on a current item or just add an item without removing one. Answer: The delivery window they give us is between 9am and 9pm. We package the meals to be safe for 2 days transit time, plus safe to sit outside for up to 12 hours upon delivery.:-)

Our meals are generally high protein, high healthy fat, low carb, low sugar. We use unprocessed ingredients free from hormones or added sugars, and never use chemical preservatives. You can certainly reheat our meals in a conventional oven, however, our current meal containers are not safe for the oven or stove-top, so you'll have to transfer your food to heat it up. First, preheat your oven to 350° F. Transfer your food to an oven-safe dish (don't forget to scrape the sauce out of the tray!) and cover the top in tin foil. Heat for 25-35 minutes, remove foil, and let sit 3-5 minutes, then transfer to your choice of plate or bowl and enjoy! (Keep in mind, heating times are approximate. We can deliver Tuesday-Saturday in Southern Illinois--deliveries can occur between 8am-9pm depending on the carriers route for the day. Answer: I've been getting mine in on time, but I assume as with all packages going through USPS, UPS, and FedEx right now, things have been backed up since COVID and only getting worse. So it's not Freshly's fault even if they aren't delivered on time.
