Healthy meals, reliable delivery
February 12, 2018

Thus far I am satisfied with the flavor and portions of my meals. The only real concern I have is the lack of variety. I'm having to repeat meal choices because there isn't anything new on the menu. It's fine for now because we are new to this service, however I foresee it getting old fairly quickly. Crossing my fingers for some new meal options soon.

Very Impressed

I have tried a few delivery meal services, this knocked it out of the park. The taste you can not get anywhere else. I was so surprised how much I loved the meals. The portions are great and good, healthy food.

I asked Cassie some questions about the cancellation policy and also whether the meals could be frozen. She was very helpful and friendly, and it was a pleasant experience chatting with her. This makes me impressed with your Customer Service organization.

My first box actually didn't make it to me because FedEx apparently thinks I live down the street. So my box sat outside in the Texas heat all day and was essentially ruined. I emailed them that day and they were prompt in getting back to me and although not directly their fault they fixed it. Haven't tried the food yet but A++ on customer service.

More variety.

Love the concept! Food has been mostly excellent, except for personal tastes. Portions are perfect. However, to get six meals each week, we find we need to duplicate meals every other week or so because the variety doesn't change very often.

The food is very fresh and most of the dishes are tasty. I wish there was more time to try the options before selecting the next week's meal. I end up not liking one and don't know until it's too late.

I can honestly Freshly food has changed my world. I had been dieting and eating bland, tasteless food, and, yes, the weight was coming off, but I felt so deprived. I knew it was just a matter of time before I gave up and went back to my old eating habits. Then, I found Freshly and feel 100% satisfied with every meal, and the weight loss actually improved! If you want to lose weight but don't want to feel deprived and feel totally satisfied with truly delicious food, then Freshly is the answer! My husband never wants to try new things, but even he smelled how yummy the meals are, and he sees I'm losing weight, so now he's buying Freshly, too. Trust me, that's a huge endorsement!

I've tried eating Lean Cuisine and Nutrisystem, and both tasted like gritty oatmeal to me... gross textures and no real flavor. Freshly is completely different; the meats are always tender and fresh, and the vegetables are delicious and well-seasoned. It's easy to keep up with a low-carb, healthy diet with these meals... they last well and the deliveries are reliable. I love it; it's fairly simple food, but it's filling, and I find myself actually fairly excited to try a new meal each each day. With Freshly I can avoid that awful 'oh-god-it's-dinner-I-have-to-eat-that-gross-crap' feeling and instead just have an easy, quick dinner that is healthy. I would highly recommend this; it's pricing is very reasonable, the food is great, and if you're busy, this is the perfect option for you.

Rough start
December 14, 2017

Since we signed up, we have had 3 missed deliveries. To be fair, it is the holiday delivery time and they have always made it right for us. But it does make it hard to meal plan when a weeks worth is missed. I hope they are working on expanding the menu choices from week to week as more variety would be nice. The flavor palette is a little mature for my 15 year old. The convenience is great and the portions are good- no leftovers!

Fantastic
April 16, 2020

Since we started ordering with Freshly we have been delighted by the variety of meals offered. Everything we have tried so far has been delicious and healthy. It has also saved us money on our food bill. It's hard to cook for just the two of us and not have leftovers piling up in the fridge and eventually ending up being thrown out. That means throwing money down the drain since food isn't cheap. Give it a try for yourself and see!

Bad Food, bad service
August 24, 2016

Food was meh and their business model is a scam. You don't have time to try the food from your "intro" deal before you get charged full price for your second week. Food is salty only sort of fresh tasting. Better than a frozen TV dinner, but not worth the price. Packaging is environmentally unfriendly.

I wish they had vegetable choices

I'm in my second week with Freshly, it's really convenient and I don't have to go to the grocery store often. I'm not a vegetarian but I rarely eat red meat and my husband can't eat pork. I wish they had an all vegetable menus to choose from. Other than that, the meals are satisfying.

My husband and I are in the midst of empty nesting. With this new normal comes a change in our food plans. We researched many options and decided Freshly was the best choice for us! The food is wonderful and the portions are perfect. The best part about Freshly is that the meals take 2-3 minutes in the microwave. After a long day at work, you get a delicious healthy meal to your table in under 5 minutes! What's not to love?

No Meals on delivery date

I started a chat with a guy named Christopher and he answered my questions and I'm not thrilled about not getting it today, at least he gave me $10 off my next the order. 1st time and did not show up on the delivery date I choose which was Thursday, since I started the service 3 weeks ago. I have high hopes for the company And their products are amazingly made.

Great Overall Service

Wonderful experience, customer experience did a great job quickly rectifying an issue. Only -1 star because of said issue, and perhaps it'll change in the future, but would in general highly recommend these guys, as they genuinely seem to have a solid mission and a cool concept, and not to mention typically really great food.

Overall Would Recommend

I've been using Freshly for a while now. My main reason for trying Freshly is that I was not eating healthy enough on my own, and I didn't have time to cook. The meals are delicious and I find them filling, and I enjoy the variety of options. I have had shipping issues a couple of times where I didn't receive my meals or received incorrect meals, and customer service was quick to refund and give a discount for the next week. My only complaint is that as not a huge meat eater, there are not many options of meals without any meat. There used to be the same dish in a meat and meatless option, which I enjoyed for variety, as I don't like eating animal protein everyday. I do hope they will bring vegetarian options back and possible just make every meal available with or without meat. That would be ideal. Overall I would recommend if you're looking for easy, tasty, and healthy meals delivered to your door.

Perfect for me
March 31, 2017

I used to love cooking but, lately it has become a chore. This makes up for it. I haven't gotten bored because the dishes keep changing and they have all been very good. I have a couple that I order a lot just because I still really like them. I usually get tired of the same thing over and over again. Not a problem with Freshly. So far I have no complaints. Thanks.

Pros and Cons

I enjoy freshly it takes the hassle out of thinking what I need to make for dinner. I don't usually have much time to cook before work and this helps me get in a healthy meal with veggies. I wish they had more meal options and a way you could edit some meals for your taste. There are a few meals I'd like to try but they have peppers and I hate peppers.

Sodium!

While you will find ranges on recommended sodium intake daily, most ranges are 1500-2300, the meals I ordered ranged from 1100-1600! In just one meal!

Most of the meals were tasty and I thought the portion size was fine. I increased my workouts to help compensate for the increased sodium. A few days of increased sodium should not have extreme long term effects but ordering these on a regular basis... that could have serious long term health effects, especially if you are eating these twice a day! I limited mine to once a day.

We do add a bit of sea salt to taste, but otherwise the sodium is from what is naturally occurring in the ingredients. Because we do not alter it, we've received feedback that the sodium seems higher than normal. It's largely from seasonings and marinades that we use.

If you're concerned about it for health reasons, research has shown that naturally occurring sodium isn’t necessarily bad for you. It’s the sodium that comes from chemical preservatives and the like that is harmful (one reason we don’t use chemical preservatives).:-) A good piece to check out, which explains it more detail, can be found at this link:

What a pleasant experience! Mel was more than a model employee. Her responses were clear and easy to understand. She had excellent follow up and communication skills and went above and beyond in order to let me know she was still there while getting an answer for me. Nothing is worse than when an employee has to research something further and leaves you wondering if they are still there. Mel made sure to let me know she in fact was still there. Her response time was maybe 5 mins when she did have to research.
I do not take surveys or write reviews but I do feel that Mel deserves recognition for providing excellent customer service as well as a polite, cheerful, and thoughtful responses. I was very impressed.
