I wish I had read the reviews before booking a shipment through them.
Instead of having my shipment picked up on the same day or the day after placing the order, they only sent a pickup request five days later!
When I followed up to see what was going on, they sent me tracking information for someone else's shipment, assuring me that everything was under control. It took several emails and calls for them to finally realize that something was wrong.
Unless you don't care when your shipment gets delivered, I strongly suggest using a different platform.
I hired Freight Center to ship two family heirloom pieces of furniture across the country after being assured that they would be packed carefully and arrive safely. One piece arrived extremely damaged, almost beyond repair. I have heard nothing from them for 4 months regarding my claim.
Package was a return item, to Kohler Company, approximate $800 value. Freight Center stole my package, a hugh 48" vanity top, said they couldn't find it, delivered somewhere 2 miles from my house instead of salt lake, Utah. Avoided my calls, never followed through. Not to be trusted
Gaining some insider information, I can tell you this place doesn't give a crap about you. They are told in training there are no morals in freight. Their top agents price gouge 50% mark-up on rates when their cost margin is supposed to be 35-40%. Not only are they dishonest to their customers but they do so by hiding behind "veteran owned" title. They do not care about veterans let alone their employees. The ones that have been there for a long time are stuck. Their own VP abuses and bullies the staff while the president, managers, and other agents do nothing. They buy their "leads", aka your personal info. It's not because you signed up on the website. They pay to remove bad reviews and pay to be the top search in google. Just go to the freight carriers directly to see the difference in price.
Our shipment went with XPO logistics 45 days later freight center charge me an additional $535 claiming that our freight was 110 pounds over which was false. We ended up being billed almost $1000 this place is a rip off
I used this company to ship precious items of my deceased mother and they arrived broken. And they don't seem to want to do anything about it. I paid for white glove experience and got black glove. Don't trust this company.
They picked up 2 pallets from my warehouse. Then 2 days later they reattempted to pick up the same 2 pallets. Told them they already picked up. Well, they lost the first 2 pallets for 2 months. Finally got the 2 pallets back and I requested a full refund. Nope. They offered a percentage back. Filed a claim but that was rejected. I would not recommend as I'm out $1000 for the shipping. Plus it cost me $2000 to reship the items via UPS, so yeah.
Requested bid to ship between XPO terminals. I provided dimensions (one was 8' or 96"). Estimate was written as 95". Turns out that the charges for 96" item are TWO-fold what I was quoted. I wasn't offered the opportunity to cancel my shipping with this exorbitant upcharge. I requested consideration or adjustment of charges in light of deceptive estimate and dramatic change in cost. Was told impossible and process doesn't permit. I was taken advantage of and would recommend you work with other entities. Customer service agent Vicky (1125) was not honest.
These people suck $#*! big time. 0/10.
They cost me hundereds of dollars in demurrage and their customer service is horrible. They have no knowledge of logistics and not sure why they are in this business. Would not touch them with a 10 foot pole next time. Absolutely rubbish. You have been warned.
They will change the price and automatically charge your credit card scam! Don't do it! The crate company had my dimensions on my receipt and freight center said it was different and charged my credit card and cheated me.
First and last time I will use them. I should have checked the reviews first like other people have called out. They picked up a commercial oven that I sold to someone in another state. They picked it up on 4/11 and said it was going to be delivered by 4/13 or 4/14. Well, by 4/20 they still hadn't delivered it nor even called the buyer or me to let us know what is going on. I called FreightCenter and they couldn't find my info!? Took speaking with several people and receiving multiple callbacks to finally even figure out what my shipment was. The buyer almost cancelled the order on me which would have cost me a bunch of money and would have been infuriating. I wouldn't trust these people to ship a letter, let alone anything valuable... Go with literally any other freight shipper. FreightCenter has the WORST reviews out of all of them. And for good reason...
I find it perplexing to comprehend how anyone would think it acceptable to open and remove boxes from a securely arranged pallet. And yet, that's exactly what they did! I paid for non-stackable delivery with a liftgate, and obviously, I paid with reference to the space my pallet occupied. Despite this, they OPENED MY PALLET and delivered loose boxes to my customer. It's absurd! I want a refund for the amount they basically ignore and show no concern for.
I have had 3 shipments with Freight Center.com. 2 No Shows, one late delivery by days and extra charges of over 300 dollars. May want to rethink who to use.
Should have went with FedEx! My shipment made it to the state I live in on the estimated arrival date. Instead of dropping my shipment off at the terminal the carrier decided to take my shipment on an extra 2500 mile road trip! I watched tracking the whole time and called freightcenter.com multiple times. They could not give me an answer on why this was happening or give me a new arrival date. I finally got my shipment two weeks late! Freight center tells me that the original date was an estimated date. I understand freight center is just a middle man and it was really the carriers fault. Freight center will do nothing to make this better. Not even a partial refund or a even a call back to apologize! Don't waste your time and money with a middle man and go straight to a real carrier.
After Freightcenter had our shipment picked up from our customer they then took it to the freight terminal where it sat. We tried for three days to get an answer from Freight center customer non service people when our shipment would be delivered. This delivery date turned out to be a moving target. Finally in order to provide our customer with service we rented a truck and drove 70 miles to pick up our shipment. Of course no refund or credit.
In fact 2 months later they charged us another $90 dollars for freight service they did not complete.
This company is conducting fraudulent business.
I had a bad experience with FreightCenter.com and the contracted delivery service, ABF. I'm not a corporate client so these comments regard a retail shipment. Freight Center quoted me a shipping price up front, which I paid. The delivery arrived via ground; although the item (a ~$2,300 bathroom vanity purchased on eBay from a secondary seller) arrived on time, it was damaged badly during shipment. Damages were north of $500 to repair. I filed a claim; ABF reimbursed me $31. Six weeks later, ABF automatically billed my credit card on file a second time for an amount that was 50% more than the original amount quoted. Mind you, the first payment transaction had already been completed six weeks prior, and the shipping service had already been completed. I received no advance notice that ABF was revising the original quote and billing me a second time for an amount equal to half of the first payment. ABF claimed that an auditor had found a discrepancy in the total shipping weight, which necessitated them charging my card for an additional payment. I reported this as fraud to my credit card servicer; however, I've been informed that I agreed to the terms and conditions in the fine print, up front. I consider this predatory and unethical, and I won't do business with either of these companies again. If you work with these folks, I recommend a dose of caution.
We have shipped our furniture for nearly 20 years and we know our weights are accurate. We shipped 6 identical bar stools at the agreed upon rate of $384.00. A month later we received an ADDITIONAL charge of $550.00 as they said our weights were incorrect. They claimed that each stool weighs somewhere between 60 - 90 pounds! Even though they are identical. We even sent them photos showing the stools on the scale showing it weighs 35 pounds as we originally reported. It is going on 3 months now and still no word on our credit. From reading several other reviews from different sites this seems to be a standard business practice for them. We have also reported this as fraud to our credit card company.
Quoted $400 for 32 lb canvas painting. A week later, charged an additional $1K claiming the package was 200 lbs. NO WAY! Never happened. These people are crooks - do NOT do business with them.
AVOID - This company will simple cause your business a huge financial damage and time waste. Worst costumer experience of any service I had paid for - After "finding" a suitable delivery time frame and price, their agents would hold you enough to tell you they're now offering a new time frame and a higher price. At this point I should have probably tried a different service, but I was both in a hurry to deliver my goods and lazy. We decided on a pick up time, but than they let me know, way too late for change, that the packing isn't suitable. We reschedule with one of their agents on the phone, just for me to discover by emailing another agent that no delivery had been scheduled yet and that because of his smartass attitude of not really helping with their short, uninformative and cynical answers that may take a day each, the delivery would be delayed again. At this stage I asked to cancel the service, but the agent now told me they would charge me 20% for agreeing for a delivery that never took place to that point! Now I had to agree to reschedule a new pick, about a week ahead. The drop date was also delayed by about a week(!) with no one to let us know and with their agents just telling me they have nothing to do and can only send the pick up delivery a message. AVOID
Don't use this Company! I was quoted a price, pick up date + shipment date.Paid!.Pickup was late, and 3 business days turned into weeks! It was dropped off over 2 weeks late...AND a MONTH after it was all said and done I GOT CHARGED ANOTHER $200! I called and they stated the carrier said it was a residential area and per the contract, THEY CAN CHANGE THE PRICE! WHY DIDNT THEY GIVE ME A DISCOUNT FOR PICKING UP AND DROPPING OF LATE? DONT GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION.Read the reviews! The excuse every time is " We are a 3rd party logistics company", " labor shortage ".but fail to disclose any of this or any other details when you call. Be aware!
