Barry did a great job in helping me with to questions I had. Can recommend this guy.
Will come back soon for another job to be done.
Thank you for guiding me through how to respond to freelancer support emails, and avoiding any misunderstanding that leads to my account band.
I have received a great Help. Thank you so much.
I was in trouble. Trying to find some ways to handle my problems but not successful. Then i contact support. Katie join me & excellency attitude is Exceptional attitude. Best ever support :)
The guys were really helpful. I'm going to use the platform for a long time. My problem was solved in a few minutes.
Really helping me out through my funding problem in Freelancer. All his answer is helping me, and even he will do everything to help me during my projects problem. Keep up the good work, Barry!
Thank you very much. Excellent service. I am all satisfied with Josie G.
This agent supported me immediately with efforts and kind communication.
Once again thank you
This is just an awful company. I don't know where to start...
I have been ripped off, had work not completed, had useless customer service, been charged for things unnecessarily, just everything you expect from a poorly run company.
I am in the process of closing my account and they have said it will take four weeks to refund me my remaining balance and close the account. That says it all. I could walk to Australia in that time.
I have been on Upwork's Top Rated Program and have been a freelancer since 2010. Every time I have tried to work via freelancer.com I have been disappointed and I feel scammed. Long story short, they refuse to actually resolve any of my issues, communication is poor and they will not let me withdraw my earned money even though my identity has already been verified. To think, I actually paid them a monthly subscription!
I have proof of my verified status with this platform, proof I was able to withdraw already, and copies of all correspondence.
There is always some issue with them, but rest assured they charge my card and deduct their fees from my balance without a problem. I'm done trying to give them a chance, it is a horrible marketplace for hardworking freelancers, especially if you live in the US.
I have just filed complaints with various government bodies in Australia and will file more as I see which avenues are best for this situation. I will not stop until I get justice because this is much bigger than me or the money I earned. This is for everyone out there that has been cheated, manipulated, chewed up and spit out by freelancer.com. They are sneaky scammers and will continue if this goes on unchecked. I have since seen the forums riddled with unfortunate stories. Freelancer.com has interfered with our livelihoods and must be held accountable.
I tried to take the test and I was sure of my internet connection and 2 times I got lost and time out because when I click next question the link take long time to load and I asked to refund my money back the refused just give me cost of 1 time and the other no while the problem was technically and from the website not me
My first time using it was not a good experience. Freelancers bid without reading the Criteria. My freelancer failed to complete any tasks. Did not listen to me when I ponited out he was not following my instructions. He assure he was an expert in the area before I awarded it. My mistake was releasing half the project value at the beginning. I did end up getting back the remaining balance which was something after a battle by going to a dispute. I would not recommend unless you are totally confident freelancer can do job and make milestone smaller
Freelancer is out there to profit for themselves. If people are prepared to waste time and effort, and end up paying Freelancer.com ridiculous fees out of their own money, then the freelancer.com is the best site they can ever ask for. Freelancer doesn't protect its members. Also the paid money, is held into their account for ages before it can see the Bank Account of the rightful owner, if ever. The only reason this site survives is because of many newcomers hoping for a second income, and also the high rate of people from poor countries who can work for nothing hoping to make a cent on a Dollar. That is, until these people realize that is not worth it.
Unfortunately, the two freelancers I awarded my project to were only interested in driving the price up without any real work being done. One even changed the name of the person who the project had been awarded to. Not sure if ths website is as trustworthy as it makes out to be.
I am a prefferred freelancer on freelancer.com and all started off great but it does look like they are indeed a scam.
I was paid a 50% milestone from a client and completed 90% of the work. However I was unable to complete the job so offered the client a full refund (and let them keep what was done).
My account has been frozen with nearly double the money required to refund the client. Client has not been refunded and I have been unable to work for the past 3 months despite numerous emails both from myself and the client.
I am in the process of filing small claims court in Australia as well as making a complaint to ofcom here in the UK. It would be greatly appreciated if someone from freelancer could forward me to the correct person to help assist with these issues. I won't however hold my breath.
Do not under any circumstances use Freelancer. They made multiple charges on my credit card for fees that i did not agree too. I advertised a job, the guy completed it and i paid him.
Then weeks after i noticed on my credit card out 5 transactions totalling over $50 made by freelancer for all these fees and charges!
This is complete fraud and my credit card company is onto them.
STAY AWAY FROM FREELANCER.COM
Freelancer.com have closed my account without any issue. They just said they closed because of violation of terms and conditions. I've been working on freelancer for more then 3 years and I know how the site works. I had $400+ balance and 3 year profile of 400 + reviews. What they did just closed my account without any reason and steal my money. I refereed more then 25 people on freelancer.com and I will tell them just now to leave working on this website and start on other freelacing website where I never get such issue. I lost my 3 year profile, thats discussing. These people are really un-reliable. I just read reviews on different sites about them now and see they are totally scamers. I am going to contact my lawyer to sui freelancer.com about closing/suspending accounts of people without any issues.
I accept a FAKE project with FAKE $ and unverified employer mistakenly at freelancer.com and the website didnt ask me to confirm and reduction about $1000 from my Paypal account for commission fee.
I referred the issue to the support team immediately and they said that the amount is the commission fee and is nonrefundable!
They have limited my account and their support team didn't responded.
Finally Paypal helped me to get my refund from those scammers After Two month.
Thanks Paypal.
Do not use freelance.com.au - they have NO direct contact details, so if you wish to complain to them direclty about a part of their service you CANNOT. Their customer service is non existant. Its a really really dishonest service, do NOT use freelance.com.au
This website is seriously full of spam with F rating customer service. They also charge you money to take exams where as other freelancer website such as Upwork does not. A client closed the project on me that has cause me losing 10% of "his" proposed money.
This month I started to look for gigs on Freelancer.com. After spending 60+ dollars on exams to look more qualified, someone contacted me for a 600 dollar virtual assistant gig. As we talked about the specific requirements, he wants me to contact him outside of freelancer.com. I sensed that this could be a spam so I refused. (Also in the terms and conditions we are not allowed to contact sellers outside of freelancer.com). As I waited for his response, he deleted the project and disappear all together. Later I checked my bank account and realized I had being billed 61 dollars without freelancer explicitly bill me anything when I accept the gig. I realized why they keep ask us to create a paypal account. I should have refused to create one.
Contacted freelancer customer service, they told me I cannot get my money back. (There was no "service" provide to me, so why should I pay 61 to you Freelancer.com?) and the sellers' account has been closed. The gig has disappeared as well.
I am seriously pissed off how this website exploit the already poor Freelancer by imposing numerous fees. I didn't even realized that they had asked me for a foreign transaction fee. No where mentioned. I will want to request all of the billing inquires and see how you guys lied to me!
Outsourced some simple work to a "professional" via them, and within 24 hours, my credit card had 6 unauthorised withdrawals and I had to cancel my card. I should have searched for reviews first.
Even the freelancer was a problem. The work actually came back with MORE mistakes than I submitted it with! NOTHING was written differently (I had asked for professionally written web content to replace my amateur ramble).
On top of all that, the email they sent me confirming the job was placed with the freelancer I chose was worded so that it was easy to misunderstand, and unsuspecting people would have paid the amount TWICE. Lucky I noticed that bit.
I am livid. I will not get that money back (the system doesn't let you withdraw it without a lot of pain, so just paid it just to get out of there as wasting more of my time about this will lose me more money than it's worth... no doubt that's how this works many a time?), but the other 6 withdrawals will be reimbursed by my bank. Live and learn I guess, but if anyone is wondering if this site is a good idea, be warned it might not be so great! Xo
What an absolute scam. They took money that wasn't theirs then double charged me on top of that. All in all they stole $300.00 If you value your money run from these Aussie bastards
Answer: They are making heaps of money they will be around in the future, unfortunately.
