I made a small order for some midge hackle. After ordering I never received any kind of confirmation through email that the order was made, even though it showed paid through PayPal. I looked this site up online and the reviews were horrible and I began to worry about this order. So I emailed Dave and never received a reply so I called him. I did reach him but he said he would need to look the order up when he got back to his computer and call me back, which he never did call back. This sounded just like the reviews. It was a small order so I wasn't too concerned but still, it's an order that you expect to get after paying for it. Luckily PayPal sent me a refund and all is good. I now know better than to order from this place again. It's too bad too, the website had an excellent selection of feathers. I would avoid this place.
I made two orders one for $25 and second for $18 within 1/2 hour of each other on a Sunday night. Paid through PayPal. The next day I received a request though PayPal for an additional $2.96 with the only explanation in the note section of (copied straight from PayPal): "USPS tracking now required on orders under $25, thanks!". My first order from them and not knowing what to do and worried about not getting my order or a refund, I just paid it. I am not sure why this was asked for, especially since my orders were so close together and could have easily been shipped together it would have been over $25. Just saying. I will not do business with them again.:-(
So far I have placed 6 orders with Feather Emporium. Been completely satisfied with every order. Shipping was anywhere from 3 to 5 days. I feel confident that any problem I could potentially have in the future would be resolved. Communication has always been timely so I have no reason to expect otherwise.
I had a great transaction with David. Product exceeded quality rating. Took care to inform me of an out of stock that became available. Only negative was packaging could have more securely packed tip was curled.
After talking with David on the phone, we quickly resolved the issues with my order and he promptly sent me exceptional materials that were more useful to my project. If you read the reviews, you will note that several customers report that response time with this merchant may be delayed. Knowing this, don't be upset if response times are delayed. My overall experience far exceeded my expectations and I will do more business with Feather Emporium in the future.
I sent $90 for rooster capes. 3 weeks later I have yet to receive them. When I called he blamed the post office. According to tracking info, all he did was initiate a pick up, but never sent the capes. He refused me a refund. Do not buy from him. Dishonest
I ordered about $300 worth of Whiting capes and paid via Paypal. One cape was a show cape (open pkg) with a color that I specifically wanted. I received them within 2-3 days. Colors and quality were top notch. I was extremely pleased and will order again.
Never got what I ordered. Wouldn't answer or return my calls or emails. Had to dispute the sale with my credit card. He has a great website with lots of beautiful necks, saddles etc. That's what sucks you in.
Had I checked the reviews, I never would have ordered from the company. I called in an order for a Ginger neck Saturday at noon and received it in Mondays mail. 1/2 way cross country. Pretty good if I do say. The quality was absolutely outstanding! I ordered a Whiting neck and was concerned that it wasn't on a Whiting card, but this thing is beyond expectations.
I originally sent an email that didn't get answered, but didn't worry about it to much. After I read the poor reviews, I did recall hearing the bad about the company. I know now that'll I'll be sure to pay with my PayPal credit card if there's a dispute.

I ordered $290 worth of hackle in May 2018. On January 14,2018 I received an email from the owner asking me if I still wanted what I had paid for. I replied that I did. Since that time I have sent multiple emails and called multiple times with no response. I have reported him to www.ic3.gov which is a government agency that investigates internet fraud. I will send him an email to tell him what I have done.

He will lead you on with "I'll get back to you this afternoon with everything you need", "I'm really busy", then scream at you for calling his phone with a full voicemail box.

Avoid this business.
After like 3 months of trying to get replacement feathers or a refund I have given up. The place hardly picks up the phone, accused me of being a difficult customer after i went to paypal to file a complaint to get my money back. Told him to just refund my money if he couldnt send the feathers, which he wouldn't and said he would send feathers this week. Didnt happen. Same story. So he ripped me off for like $50. Learned my lesson about this place and ordering feathers. His inventory got me interested and that was a mistake, any reputableplace can get you want you need. Stick with reputable local shops or big name shops in the US.
Ive never experienced such bad customer service. He sent my package stating my first name only. The package clearly returned to him ss customs couldnt find me. Thats when it all started. HE BLAMED ME! He even lied multiple times about contacting paypal. After about 1,5 months paypal Gave me my money back, a full refund. If you even consider trying this piece of shait shop BE AWARE!
Pay with PAYPAL and mastercard. That way when he scams you, you get your money back.

David Roberts hosts an elaborate website which seems to get periodic updates. After you add the items you want to the shopping cart, you make payment. In my case, he doesn't ship, even after phone calls & emails about status. Looking into it, get back with you, is address correct, are all responses you will get. In the end, I had a label that was created but never delivered to the USPS. The label is still in the tracking system in the same status today.
Ordered feathers over a month ago. Today's haven't received them. Called 8 times mes requesting a call back to find out when they were coy- no return calls. Won't answer emails, messages etc. Still waiting; And it's not like they shipped from China it's in Wisconsin... what's up?
Keep away, you may lost your money. I did order for US 100, never got my feathers and every time I try to contact him he come with silly exeuses. This shop should be closed down.
Website offers great deals on high quality feathers but he doesn't actually have them and you won't get them. After multiple emails and phone calls I finally received a partial order. Fortunately PayPal offers buyer protection and after 10 weeks I was finally able to get a partial refund. David promises delivery every time you talk to him but he is just a con artist. Don't fall for it!
I ordered from Feather Emporium twice. The first time things went well. The second time they did not. I had to call and remind him of the order. Finally, I ended up meeting him in Madison to get the feathers. The Whiting 100 packs that he sells are not packaged by Whiting. He puts feathers in sandwich bags. I didn't mind this, until I tried to tie with the feathers. Some were okay, some were the wrong size, and some had strangely thick barbules that made them unsuitable for tying. I don't know if that might have come from improper dying. When I called to complain, he got very nasty. I will eat the cost so that I never have to deal with this person again. I believe that he is not an authorized Whiting dealer, but may have been on at some time, and is selling stock. Buy from anyone but this guy!

I purchased a few items on this site and never received it, even after making the full payment. I had multiple phone conversations with David (Who's extremely rude and clearly has no clue how to run a business) and each time, he confirmed the fact that he received my payment, confirmed that it was in stock, however never actually sent the item to me. I have written him numerous e-mails, text messages and un-returned phone calls all with no response. Conveniently, his voicemail box is always full, so you can't even leave him a voicemail. Filed a dispute with PayPal to get my money back. Hopefully this guy's "Business" will soon be shut down as every review says the same thing. STAY AWAY.
