I ordered a Hardy Avocado that was in stock, but took over 30 days to ship. Once shipped, it took about 5 days to arrive. Upon opening the package, the tree was beyond stressed. Some of the leaves had turned black, and every branch and leaf drooped. We gave it a drink and planted it in fresh topsoil, and it continued to die. The tree received rain water for the first week and it continued to die. I notified customer service and sent pictures of the ball of death that I received. I was instructed to continue to care for it and it should recover from travel stress. At about 30 days and a tree completely black tree, I was shipped a new tree. It was shipped overnight, and arrived a bit stressed, but green. It is now in the ground with a nice mulch ring and plenty of rainwater. Communication was prompt, courteous, friendly, but lacked common sense with the pictures of death showing that the tree was beyond stress. I expected a bit more. I have purchased from FGT before, and even lived down the road in Leesburg, GA. Fingers crossed on this tree
I am extremely disappointed with the contender peach tree I ordered. The first one we were sent was extremely crooked and just looked like a poor quality tree for how much it costs. Then they sent a second "replacement" tree, which was even worse! It is covered in some sort of disease, what looks like shot hole disease. So disappointed, and a huge waste of money to get unhealthy sickly trees. Don't waste your money here.
Dealing with these folks were personal and very professional. It was a big relief considering how all to often it is something of an ordeal.
I have had great outcomes with everything I've purchased here. I have second year blackberries and raspberries that have 8 foot canes full of berries this year.
The lilacs I got this season are thriving and looking great. Highly recommend!
Trees looked good on arrival, were planted and watered regularly, and promptly began to gradually die. Out of 5 trees, 1 is completely dead, 3 are half dead, and one is pretty good, only a couple of small dead areas. I called the company about 2 months back and was told to send pictures, and I've taken them, but I don't know how to send them. These trees (emerald green thujas, 5-6 ft) were expensive, I'd like them replaced.
Trees looked beautiful when they arrived. Now I am not sure they are going to make it. One tree is beginning to grow leaves. The others have dead leaves or no leaves at all.
I ordered a Calamansi Tree months ago, and it was put on backorder with no notice. There should be ample notice when something is on backorder. The item finally arrived when I was out of the country for a week. Again, there was no notice that it would be arriving. So it sat out there in 90 degree weather.
I thought when I found Fast Growing Trees that I finally had a place to order trees and plants - guarantee on your orders - wow! I was mistaken. I ordered a citronella plant, a lilac and two different hydrangeas! The hydrangeas were both in bad shape. I emailed them, took pictures and showed them the problem. I was told how to help them and that they would be replaced as soon as I red lighted that that was my choice…I was then told that they would not be replacing them as they wee not that bad! Will never order from them again and will inform my grandson that wanted to start an orchard to find some place else to order trees from! Sadly, they did not follow through with the guarantee of satisfaction.
This is the first time for me to buy any thing from your company. The only problem i had was timing... it took about 7 weeks, which i did not know when i called to see if they were in stock. I was not informed so I called and the date keep going longer. That was a problem for me b/c they were a present for a friend, so my word was not keep to him. However the trees arrived healthy and they are in the ground and look great. I know and understand these are living things and timing can be off, maybe calling and follow up could be helpful for the customer. Thank you
I've ordered quite a few plants from Fast Growing Trees. Most of them have done well, and for those that haven't, they honored their warranty and refunded/replaced the plants. The reason for knocking off 1 star is for my experience of purchasing a red haven peach tree, only to find out 4 years (and a lot of care) later, that it is in fact a nectarine tree of some sort. I don't need or particularly want a nectarine tree. It takes up some of what limited space I have, but I don't think I can bring myself to cut down a mature tree.
I've planted over 200 trees, but never purchased them on-line before. I imagined they would be delivered on the back of a flat bed truck; but they arrived 2 to a box packed tip to root ball. The pots had loose soil around the roots and were wrapped in plastic bags. Much of the soil had fallen away from the roots, but remained moist, and many of the leaves had fallen off. I was surprised how small the trunk circumference is--the tree is 4-6 foot tall, but it's smaller around than my pinky finger--I had expected a 1-1.5 inch diameter at that height (but that must just be pine trees I'm used to). I purchased the trees at a significant discount (I think 40-50% off)--thank gawd I did because I'm happy to have paid what I did, but would be very disappointed if it had been full price. It was very comforting to know there is a 1 year guarantee; and as they predicted, many of the leaves were damaged or fell off, but every single tree they sent me (9) has brand new growth and is doing very well. Overall, a very good experience.
I've bought several vanilla/strawberry hydrangeas from FGT over the past few years to build a hedge row in upstate NY. Every plant is growing well, and while they may look a bit beat up from shipping they all thrived once planted. I'm very satisfied.
Send trees that are healthy not hacked down from larger trees that did not meet you standards All branches cut top cut off leaves cut in half and dead leaves everywhere. Photos were sent.
I'm a retailer and when I need plant advice I can always count on FadtGrowingTrees for their reliable expertise. They're not afraid to tell you the secrets to growing amazing plants!
Was so looking forward to the picture of "chandelier hydrangea" and planted it in a barrel planter in front of home. Even purchased the optimum fertilizer recommended. The shrub never took off. Maybe this summer has been too harsh. I regret exposing the plant to full sun.
The lavender plant I planted last year exceeded my expectations so I ordered more this year. I ordered 4 plants and three of them are thriving. I'm nursing one of them along, same garden, same soil condition. So far it's still alive.
I excitedly ordered a large lemon tree in early spring. It was beautiful and even had blossoms. Unfortunately the night it was delivered the temperature was due to drop into the low teens so rather than leave it in the garage I brought it into the house. It has lost all of its leaves. It is now August. I'm waiting for the leaves to grow back. No luck
I ordered 10 trees and once they shipped they were lost in shipping for over a week. The trees showed up very dry and they've been in the ground for about a month now and most are wilted with yellowing and I've had two already completely die.
We ordered 30 pine trees and 4 fruit trees. Pine trees arrived perfectly. Fruit trees were folded in half and broken. (clearly the fault of fedx) Replacement trees sent out immediately! Love this company.
I called and sent pictures of sick plant.
I received another plant at no charge.
Answer: Cancel your order now before it's too late, go to a local nursery and save yourself some money and unwarranted aggravation, these folks are not honorable.
Answer: I ordered 3 autumn blaze maples. They have been in the ground for 2 years now and have yet to turn red in the fall. I did some research and found that they only turn red if the temperature conditions are right. I live in Idaho and we basically skipped fall this year and went straight into winter. So once again the leaves just turned brown. I am hoping to finally get a display next year.
Answer: The same thing is happening to me. My tree died and they keep saying they're going to make good and nothing happens. Real crooks, this company.
