November 5, 2019

When I first signed up I was amazed at how great experian.com was as a company, and again I was wrong they let me down they are supposed to be a legitimate site yet they are taking inaccurate credit information in and affecting my credit. Poor website I'm so angry they are letting these companies scam a college student. I will be hiring an attorney

One of the worst customer experiences that I have ever had. It is impossible to speak to a human by pressing "0" or asking for an operator. They ask for your SSN# and I had a simple request to "unfreeze" my account. They texted me a code to confirm my identity. I entered the code and... five minutes of bad parlor jazz. I assumed I was moving to the next step, but apparently it just never registered the numbers I hit. At no point during this five minutes did a voice come in and interrupt to say, "I'm sorry, we didn't get that." Or to repeat the instructions. The artificial intelligence they have is blindingly dumb, which is no surprise coming from a company who is basically in the armpit of late capitalism. The reason I "froze" my credit in the first place was due to a massive data breach. Just goes to show how companies with a captive market can abuse consumers without recourse. Experian sucks.

Experian $uck$
August 18, 2023

Has to be on of the worst company's to deal with. Clearly their goal is to make it impossible to talk to a human. Oddly enough, when you call in to discuss your identity theft, they ask you the same questions SSN, street address, ETC. that the thief already has access too. The only way I can reach a human is to go through my Discover card account, call them directly and they will transfer me to a live operator at Experian. Such a joke.

I subscribed to Experian's Premium Reporting service at $24.99 a month plus tax. I changed my payment method and after several months I realized they were still billing both cards for the service. I cancelled the service and I had to cancel both credit cards and have them reissued. I spoke with Experian and they refused to correct the problem claiming I was paying for two separate accounts and there was nothing they could do about it. Do not use this service. Imagine a company that rates your credit and steals your money. I'm not sure if ironic is even the appropriate term.

Customer Support is an irritation
March 21, 2023

The automated bot needs to ask less $#*!ing questions and have the option to connect to an agent from the getgo. And the agents shouldn't start off saying that a refund doesn't typically happen. Then turning around and saying they'll contact someone higher to request an approval. So even they they gave it to me as a one time courtesy I'm still giving this 1 star review for the customer support.

This company should be dissolved. You cannot get a person on the line to help with anything and the IVR bullies you into making only selections that lead to more automation. What a total trash experience. I haven't cursed at a robot in a long time.

This gimmick website promises you a free credit report. As you continue you learn there a small fees involved. If you give your credit card information you will be billed the same day and billed again within 8 days for a membership that is $10.00 more than advertised. If you call and cancel, you do not get a refund, but you also cannot use the website you paid for.

A single "credit report" costs $25. The first issue with that (aside from the very obvious one) is that it doesn't give you any real information or advice on how to improve your credit. The second issue (and the real kicker) is that just requesting one causes your credit score to go down. By a lot. The idea of a credit score is already nonsensical enough as it is, but Experian is just exceptionally stupid and unhelpful on all fronts. Don't listen to anything they tell you.

False credit assesment
October 29, 2023

All of the credit bureaus Re pure fraud! I have had zero late pays, a great credit mix, perfect credit for over 6 years an I sit in the mid 600's. The current credit agencies are fraudulently reporting according to the CFPB guidelines! You $#*!s are fraudulent period! Pigeon holing individuals into categories of your own choosing!

Sick of the damn BS! Scammers, all of you. Experian, TransUnion, Equifax all falsely reporting correct credit standings for every consumer!

The street address where I live is unusually long. My credit report on Experian shows all sorts of different addresses, all of which are errors because of computer screw-ups of my long address. Will Experian allow me to fix this easily, NO! They want me to call them and talk to some nincompoop phone clerk.

Experian has had numerous cyber break-ins. I trust Experian as much as I trust a used car salesman. ZERO

To put it simply, Experian sucks.

The jerks representatives at Experian just don't care that my Experian online report is not working due to their fault. Numerous phone calls and wasting time with incompetent representatives did not solve the problem nor they really care. Its important they charge for membership! Theves!

Bogus

I keep a credit freeze in place and would only temporally unfreeze for a mortgage. After I unfreezing with Experian, I started to get all kind of mailings and spam.

My credit score is 827 on the other two reporting agencies. Out of the blue with no change to my credit, Experian tells me my score has decreased by 22 points. Nothing has changed for me in the past year.

Just Bad
July 5, 2023

Dispute department guy was such a jerk. He had to work the day after the 4th and was giving me attitude the whole time for no reason. His tone was so condescending. If you hate your job that much than quit. The lady I got before being transferred to dispute department was no help either. I follow the correct steps to upload proof of my dispute and the website won't even allow me to upload the PDF file. I have to mail it in. Straight garbage don't even waste your time

Garbage
June 14, 2023

I have been locked out of my online account and I can't unlock the account, multiple attempts to call the credit bureau are just met with a phone robot, that just tells me to go to the same website I'm locked out of, I need to talk to a real person about this. I am disabled and stressed the f*** out. I don't know what their game is, trying to hide behind phone robots. Experian is Trash. Go in the flipping bin.

Absolutely trash operation, send you in loops for every process and apparently their employees are afraid to do their jobs and can't be reached for simple processes and requests. If a companies only goal is to burn people it shouldn't be a company. Hire representatives to assist people calling or dissolve as an entity.

A few months ago my auto lender made a system error and marked me 180 days late with Experian, Transunion, and Equifax. This error dropped my scores about 40 points with each bureau. I submitted disputes with each company, and was in contact with the lender to correct the mistake. Once the error was fixed, Transunion and Equifax returned my score to what it was prior to the mistake. Experian which had dropped 42 points, returned only 13 when the 180 day late was removed. When I called to find out why they said that there was nothing that could be done and that my score is completely controlled by their algorithm. I explained that when a factor that caused -42 is removed from an equation, the end result would be +42. They either did not understand that simple mathematical concept, or they did not care.

They're Slimy
November 30, 2022

When you log in, you're greeted by a page where they've prepopulated your credit card info, and where the "buy" button is visible, but the "not right now" button is off the screen. And they've set it up to where it looks like just another button to click through to get in. See the attached screenshot and you'll see what I mean. This is not how above-board businesses operate.

Their phone system is set up to cause you to have to go through prompt after prompt to get to speak with a person. Before you do, the system may hang up on you. For one event, I had to call Experian 6 times before I got everything worked out. Unlike Equifax and TransUnion, you cannot dispute anything online; a phone call is the only way. Conveniently for them but not for you, the call center is only staffed on non-holiday weekdays during normal business hours.

Horrible
December 3, 2022

I created an Email with password for a Basic Free look at my Credit Score. I never started a Subscription nor gave out my credit card, not authorizing for them to bill me. Then I started getting charged $29.99 plus $2.99. What a scam. I turned it over to the fraud department and ordered a New Credit Card. To use my Credit Card without Authorization and the Customer Service is Terrible. This is the worst Credit Bureau.

Total Fraud
November 5, 2018

I never registered anywhere and for months they have been charging me $19.99. Every month I have to go to my credit card and dispute. When I call experian, their system announces that I have no membership but every month the charges appear. I am frustrated with waste of my time. I am sure they are fraud.
