I hated using evite. Its not user friendly, its expensive for what it is, every feature is designed to cost more money - even changing an email address for a friend. In a time of a pandemic when we are trying to celebrate events virtually I think it is shameful that you are gouging customers this way. I will NEVER use this service again, and will actively tell others to avoid it at all costs. Waste of money and about 4 hour of my time trying to invite 15 people for a zoom call. Unbelievable. I want a refund.
I received an evite in March, 2019. On the invitation was a link to buy gifts. The link took me to Amazon.com and a list of toys/books. I purchased two books and had them sent to birthday girl. Father informed me that they wanted no gifts. It turns out the link to buy gifts was UNMARKED advertising. I have informed Amazon and my Senator
Last year I was charged $12.99 for the no advertisements and this year, it is a disaster. Never had so many issues and they keep wanting to charge more every time i add a guest. I think it would have been better to send invites in the mail. Not worth the price. No humans to resolve payment issues.
Very helpful customer service. Fast service, great quality paper products. Loved them! Please use this company for your future party invitation needs.
I just used this site to send out invitations for a birthday party and it worked perfectly. So much better than just emailing all of my friends!
Great way to contact friends for an event. Highly recommended!
I gave it 2 stars because the RSVPs seem to be working ok with the exception of the guest count feature. I should have read the reviews but I went ahead and paid $80 for up to 100 invites. What the don't tell you is that each of your guests will be solicited at the end of their RSVP to take advantage of several unrelated offers that you need to decline one at a time. Also - you can't see/edit the RSVP email invite or confirmation email and there is additional marketing for Amazon at the bottom of the confirmation email. So embarrassing, if I had known - I would not have signed up. There are other negatives, but who cares, I won't be back.
So I've used Evite in the past but wanted a better experience, so I paid for it (wanted a personal photo added). Now that I'm trying to update the photo - I see NO help topics related to changing or updating the photo, no chat and I'm literally frustrated because I'm just waiting for them to email me back after completing a fill-in form on the website. If I pay for something, I expect better service.
If you send a message to all your guests it puts everything in to one LONG sentence. I spent time making my message nice and for what? It's absolutely ridiculous and very hard to read. Also, if you try to do certain things on the app it shuts off. NOT recommended.
I like using the Evite because it allow my guest to RSVP & I can track it however as far as me adding my on pic it's horrible graphics. I should be able to add a jpeg that looks clear on the invitation and it should allow for larger pictures. Evite should also keep in mind that every invite is not for parties, some are for networking meetings, etc. so the backgrounds should vary more. The personal pics on the invite looks bad!
This app used to be very functional and great. Something terrible has changed in the last two years and the support is equally bad. I have been trying to send more than 12 invitations for two weeks and each time it won't send the extras and makes me pay the fee all over again. Support has been basically useless. I will never use this app again.
I've been using evite for years for personal events, etc. As I have younger kids and am hosting more birthday parties, etc., I find that the product is a complete ripoff. I often wondered why none of the other millennial parents use evite and now I know why.
I recently sent out an invitation for my 6-year-old's birthday party. As is often the case, two of the parents provided work email addresses in the school contact list at the beginning of the year and those emails no longer work. Therefore, the invitations were not received (as the system shows). But get this, there is no way to edit the email addresses. Instead, I had to manually delete the contacts and put them in all over again in order to put in the other parent's email address. The reason? Because evite wanted to charge me another $14.99 to add two more people to the invitation since I had reached my max with the original invitation. So basically, I paid for two contacts that had email addresses that no longer work, but evite makes you pay for them all over again and doesn't let you edit them.
I'll NEVER use this service again. It's outdated anyway. Only old people still use it. It's like the myspace of personal email.
I also find it interesting there is no customer support or ability to post any feedback on their site.
This Co. Is not legit. Going to contact Better Business Bureau. I bought a pkg of 25 invites for 14.99 and half of them were not sent. Now I have and xtra charge if 92 dollars and did not authorize this or buy anything else. Bi answer to my emails so will report them to Federal trade commission so they can shut them down
Found this info on my credit karma website:
'In may 2019, evite's database was allegedly breached - the exposed data included in archives that dated back to 2013. Breached info could include usernames, passwords, phone numbers, and email addresses. Even if you don't use your evite account now, it's important to protect any info that was possibly exposed.'
It goes on to say that breached info includes date of births, email addresses, genders, phone numbers, and physical addresses.
Thanks for rejecting the gift card purchase. We live in Germany, all purchases we make online go to our U.S. military address. This was a gift for someone moving to the U.S. next week. After reading your reviews maybe it was a favor.
This site is well intentioned but it has a lot of flaws. I chose a "Save the Date" card. I paid premium to avoid the ads. In the card I promised to follow up with guests about the details of the party. When I finalized the details I sent an update to the people that had RSVP yes. Many did not see the update because it went straight to their junk mail. This cost me over $500 on meals I had to pay for people that did not show up. It not only made me look bad, it cost me a lot of money. One cannot trust this site. And there's no one to call for questions. All you can do is review FAQ's or send a text message for someone to return the next day.
Unless you have an infinite amount of time, forget Evite. The software and process make no sense. I have spent HOURS inputting names and then they disappear.
Screens pop up to input names with no connecting page. Where to go next?
I have also tried to upload CSV file. Nope. Nothing.
I have been working on this for two days. Before that, it took forever to set up the invitation itself.
Their support is web-based with no relevance to what I need. They must do that on purpose because their product totally sucks. I wish I could get my money back. BTW I am pretty tech savvy.
1/2 of my guests never received the evite- I have spend and waisted so much time trying to resend! Without having to pay again, which maybe is what the site expects you to do: resend as new- this is stealing from customers: i now read too many bad reviews (wish I had done reading before) if someone has time and energy to go after them i am in to sue.
They have no customer service because evite does not care —- why is this site still alive!
For years my ex and I have tried to unlink our accounts and we went through the "Help" and did this and that and they're forever linked if you want to still use your old email address. My email pulls up her contact info even though my email was the primary. Impossibly stupid that even if you want to delete your account you have to go through their help desk. Why? Why can't I just freaking delete and sign back up. There's so much wrong with that. It's not like they're some important agency like NSA.
As a volunteer one of the worst site interactions I have ever encountered. They actually have ads that on the surface appear to be part of the site. I would rather interact with sticky notes than this crazy site. 2 5 19 Roanoke, VA
Answer: Evite puts an UNMARKED advertisement on YOUR invitation. This advertisement is a link to Amazon and a list of gift items to purchase. Include in your invite, "DO NOT CLICK on advertisements on left side of invitation."
Evite has a rating of 1.2 stars from 70 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Evite most frequently mention customer service, email address and guest list. Evite ranks 196th among Event Planning sites.
