I've used Evite for years, but the last 2 experiences have been nothing short of a nightmare. They charged for extra invitations, which is fine, but then they failed to give us all the invites in one case and in the other, the website failed to send them out. Here's the customer service responses: "We appreciate your patience during this time. Currently, our support team has received an influx of tickets and is working diligently to respond to your inquiry." In other words, we're too busy to help you. And then when I wrote back and requested my money back: "In this case, we would kindly advise you please try removing those guests from the Manage Invitation page and then adding them again on the Add Guests page." To do what they say I'd go over the number of invitations I bought and would have to buy more. Stay away from this website!
Paid for 40 invites—will only let me send 22 then asks for more payment
Tried multiple times to change a phone number for a guest and it keeps saying this guest has already been invited
Tried to contact their support email—says they will respond in 1-2 days but have heard nothing
If you send a message to all your guests it puts everything in to one LONG sentence. I spent time making my message nice and for what? It's absolutely ridiculous and very hard to read. Also, if you try to do certain things on the app it shuts off. NOT recommended.
I like using the Evite because it allow my guest to RSVP & I can track it however as far as me adding my on pic it's horrible graphics. I should be able to add a jpeg that looks clear on the invitation and it should allow for larger pictures. Evite should also keep in mind that every invite is not for parties, some are for networking meetings, etc. so the backgrounds should vary more. The personal pics on the invite looks bad!
I've been a user of Evite for a decade. But a recent experience caused me to move to another service. Basically, Evite caused me to stare at large images of the evite card options along with advertising. It's not so much the ads, its more the tedious process of moving forward to see more options. I was seeing maybe six to a page. I want to scroll through the options, not click forward and see only a few at a time. I know what I am looking for and I want to quickly click through. Couldn't do that on Evite and just grew very fatigued very quickly. Like when I go to Shutterlfy or Tinyprints for holiday cards, I can scroll through many options. On Evite it is very different, I could barely see more than 4 to a page plus a big banner ad in the middle. Also the top of the Evite screen would lock to further reduce real estate.
Found another site which actually had some slick features, so it worked out.
I hated using evite. Its not user friendly, its expensive for what it is, every feature is designed to cost more money - even changing an email address for a friend. In a time of a pandemic when we are trying to celebrate events virtually I think it is shameful that you are gouging customers this way. I will NEVER use this service again, and will actively tell others to avoid it at all costs. Waste of money and about 4 hour of my time trying to invite 15 people for a zoom call. Unbelievable. I want a refund.
I received an evite in March, 2019. On the invitation was a link to buy gifts. The link took me to Amazon.com and a list of toys/books. I purchased two books and had them sent to birthday girl. Father informed me that they wanted no gifts. It turns out the link to buy gifts was UNMARKED advertising. I have informed Amazon and my Senator
Last year I was charged $12.99 for the no advertisements and this year, it is a disaster. Never had so many issues and they keep wanting to charge more every time i add a guest. I think it would have been better to send invites in the mail. Not worth the price. No humans to resolve payment issues.
This app used to be very functional and great. Something terrible has changed in the last two years and the support is equally bad. I have been trying to send more than 12 invitations for two weeks and each time it won't send the extras and makes me pay the fee all over again. Support has been basically useless. I will never use this app again.
This Co. Is not legit. Going to contact Better Business Bureau. I bought a pkg of 25 invites for 14.99 and half of them were not sent. Now I have and xtra charge if 92 dollars and did not authorize this or buy anything else. Bi answer to my emails so will report them to Federal trade commission so they can shut them down
Found this info on my credit karma website:
'In may 2019, evite's database was allegedly breached - the exposed data included in archives that dated back to 2013. Breached info could include usernames, passwords, phone numbers, and email addresses. Even if you don't use your evite account now, it's important to protect any info that was possibly exposed.'
It goes on to say that breached info includes date of births, email addresses, genders, phone numbers, and physical addresses.
Thanks for rejecting the gift card purchase. We live in Germany, all purchases we make online go to our U.S. military address. This was a gift for someone moving to the U.S. next week. After reading your reviews maybe it was a favor.
This site is well intentioned but it has a lot of flaws. I chose a "Save the Date" card. I paid premium to avoid the ads. In the card I promised to follow up with guests about the details of the party. When I finalized the details I sent an update to the people that had RSVP yes. Many did not see the update because it went straight to their junk mail. This cost me over $500 on meals I had to pay for people that did not show up. It not only made me look bad, it cost me a lot of money. One cannot trust this site. And there's no one to call for questions. All you can do is review FAQ's or send a text message for someone to return the next day.
Unless you have an infinite amount of time, forget Evite. The software and process make no sense. I have spent HOURS inputting names and then they disappear.
Screens pop up to input names with no connecting page. Where to go next?
I have also tried to upload CSV file. Nope. Nothing.
I have been working on this for two days. Before that, it took forever to set up the invitation itself.
Their support is web-based with no relevance to what I need. They must do that on purpose because their product totally sucks. I wish I could get my money back. BTW I am pretty tech savvy.
1/2 of my guests never received the evite- I have spend and waisted so much time trying to resend! Without having to pay again, which maybe is what the site expects you to do: resend as new- this is stealing from customers: i now read too many bad reviews (wish I had done reading before) if someone has time and energy to go after them i am in to sue.
They have no customer service because evite does not care —- why is this site still alive!
For years my ex and I have tried to unlink our accounts and we went through the "Help" and did this and that and they're forever linked if you want to still use your old email address. My email pulls up her contact info even though my email was the primary. Impossibly stupid that even if you want to delete your account you have to go through their help desk. Why? Why can't I just freaking delete and sign back up. There's so much wrong with that. It's not like they're some important agency like NSA.
As a volunteer one of the worst site interactions I have ever encountered. They actually have ads that on the surface appear to be part of the site. I would rather interact with sticky notes than this crazy site. 2 5 19 Roanoke, VA
What happened? I used to use Evite for all my party invitations, but this year I've had the worst time. The ads overwhelm the page, people's responses do not show up, and it's difficult to maneuver through the site. I've had complaints from my invitees about it as well. Most people don't even see the "View Message From Host" so don't click on it and then never get the body of the invite. If I write something, it should show up automatically without them having to click to see it. Sorry to say I'll not be using them again in the future.
I used to love evite until I used it last. It is now so covered with ads that your invitation will get lost among the advertising and probably annoy the people who receive your invitations. Wish I had not used it for my last invitation :(
I used evite to send invitations to a party, imported my contact list, and nothing happened! I subsequently sent out emails as it was too late for snail mail. Guess who now has access to my contact list and is notifying me that an invitation has been sent? I don't know what the game is but I have notified my contacts to block evite and I have notified evite to not send any advertisements to my contacts. This was a fiasco!
Answer: Evite puts an UNMARKED advertisement on YOUR invitation. This advertisement is a link to Amazon and a list of gift items to purchase. Include in your invite, "DO NOT CLICK on advertisements on left side of invitation."
The company's reputation has significantly declined, with many customers expressing frustration over a user-unfriendly platform that has become glitchy and inefficient. While some users appreciate the variety of templates and the ability to import contacts, the overwhelming sentiment highlights serious concerns regarding functionality, lack of clarity on pricing, and inadequate customer support. Complaints about unsolicited marketing, difficulty in managing invitations, and poor response times from customer service are prevalent. Overall, the company faces challenges in maintaining customer satisfaction and trust, suggesting a critical need for improvements in both product usability and support services.
