Pick up easy and fast. Note: an employee of europcar will await you at the airport exit and drive you to the rental office. Friendly staff, no selling of extra insurance etc. New and clean car.

There was no one at the airport although it said "shuttle service" on our booking confirmation. There wasn't even a sign or any kind of information where to find Europcar. Whilst other car rental companies had offices and representatives right there when people arrived. There was no car in the category we had booked available. Another car was offered but only had a 3/8 full tank. It took us more than an hour to get the car as it had to be refueled. The lady who took the car back was rather unfriendly and checked the car as if we had done anything bad to it. Not a great experience at all and we would neither book again with or recommend Europcar.

For the price I was expecting a more performant vehicle. Ok the car abyway is pretty new but I am not sure it belongs to the right rental group in my opinion. Besides I was honest by saying that my plan was to take the ferry and go to Naxos and for that I had to pay a fee because apparently there is no insurance for the ferry transfer. I mean, honesty did not pay. How many people say that instead of avoiding the fee? And anyway this story of no insurance of the ferry is completely unfair. Greece has thousands of islands but it is still the same country. It never happened something like that for other rental in other countries.

Regarding your comment on ferry transportations, written authorization is required at the time of pickup. The ferry's transportation fees were outlined in the Ts & Cs online and in the voucher we shared with you when you booked the car online. It also mentions that vehicles that are not authorized by Europcar for the duration of their stay on a ship will not be covered for damages or losses.
