Great trading platform. It really makes trading easier. Only downside is that it occasionally fubars itself and you can't always deposit back into the same account that you draw from.
I have not been able to access my eTrade account and with the markets being what they are my finances are at risk of losing thousands of dollars. I woke up one morning with my iPhone as dead as a doornail (black screen of death). Apple replaced my iPhone with a new one same day. However, because I use VIP Access to log into my eTrade account I found I could no longer log in due to the new iPhone. I've called eTrade technical support several times a day only to be told the representative wait time is over 2 hours and I hung up. One time I waited well over 2 hours and I was never put through to a representative so I hung up. It's been 3 days of calling eTrade with the same wait time so I still can't access my accounts maybe its better not seeing how much money I've lost. Oh well, today is day 3 and I've been on hold waiting over an hour to be put through to a representative with only another hour or 2 to go and maybe this time I'll get a representative. Also, don't bother with email it goes to eTrade Security Department and they only reply with a canned message about security best practices. Again NO HELP...
Garbage, never open your account or trade with them, slowest, bad service, long time transferring funds, called them for a month, day in and day out, emailed them. STAY AWAY!
Was unhappy with service, so I liquidated all securities and called to close account. They are refusing and holding my balance hostage.
ETRADE is the worst financial institution I have ever delt with. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY, they won't give it back without a fight. I have been on hold with Etrade for over 6 hours today trying to get my money. All they keep doing is putting up road blocks to block me from withdrawing MY MONEY. There are no alternatives except US Mail or waiting on hold for one of there incompetent, lying representatives. ETRADE DOES NOT CARE ABOUT HOW MUCH OF YOUR TIME THEY WASTE, Save yourslf some aggravation and GO SOMEWHERE ELSE WITH YOUR MONEY. DON'T Waste your time with Live chat, doesn't work, just like the rest of ETRADE professionals (JOKE). IF there were something less than a 1 star I would give it to them.
Funny I read through the other complaints and there is a common thread. THIEVES is a good word for them. All I want is my money. Do not give me the same bullsh** responce that you give everyone. Call me and make this right.
Customer services is not well trained, they don't have proper answers to my questions all the time.

E'trade's app has a virus and their overall system a major COSTLY glitch - When I try to sell specific Lots, the APP overrides my selected LOT then proceeds to randomly Sell a "First in First Out." When I swap the Lots in the "Gains and Losses" page, E'Trade's system again OVERRIDES my selected Lots and reverses them within a day. It has been confirmed by two associates that reversing the Lot Swaps is a known issue yet they have not fixed the glitch. I have spoken to 2 supervisors and several staff but they're so "swamped" that it's taking them OVER a month to correct the problem. As a result of this glitch, I ended up with a Deferred Loss of approx 9K, then changed to 7k and now it's down to approx 4.5K. Because of this ongoing glitch, I have avoided trading and am constantly taking screenshots of my transactions as a way of documenting the problem. This has costed me a lot of trading hours (aka money), that I am seriously considering moving to Charles S BUT the headache of transfering my account and learning a new system is paralyzing. No major financial institution should have these type of glitches.
I have tried many platforms for trading and e-trade seems best suited for me so far. Great support team as well!
They first three transactions are but they make up some crap in the fine print that says its not free.
It is a decent trading platform. However they don't always like to synch back up to your primary bank account. An issue that has yet to be resolved.
The worse trading platform available. There is a reason why you don't see the commercials on TV anymore.
They allow you to trade and buy and sell from the comfort of your home! Last month I was using them for many hours but now I use them even more
Commissions are on the lower side, service is good. Withdrawals and deposits go pretty smoothly. One of the better discount brokerages overall
