On our recent Etihad flight a female passenger sitting directly beside my wife was served alcohol. As Muslims this felt extremely disrespectful – especially coming from a UAE-based airline that represents Islamic values.
I calmly informed the crew that serving alcohol right next to visibly Muslim passengers was inappropriate. The response was cold and indifferent. Later, a stewardess returned and vaguely mentioned the captain was "sorry," but nothing changed.
We chose Etihad expecting cultural awareness and basic respect. Sadly what we experienced was commercial prioritization over faith. I hope Etihad reflects on how situations like these affect your loyal Muslim customers.
I urge Muslims to boycott this Airline.
Etihad Airways – A Deeply Disappointing Experience and Zero Accountability I'm sharing my experience with Etihad Airways so that others don't go through the same frustration. On July 11,2025, I booked a Bangkok–Paris ticket in Economy Deluxe (Booking Ref. 9GD9B3) for THB 31,950 — a much higher fare than standard, which included: Extra legroom seat Free change Free refund Priority boarding Once onboard, I discovered that my seat was not an extra-legroom seat, despite paying for it.
Even worse, on the Abu Dhabi–Paris flight, a plastic floor panel had come loose, making the journey uncomfortable and even unsafe. I filed my first complaint (Ref. **************) with photo evidence.
Etihad replied that "extra legroom seats are subject to availability" — yet they sell these seats as a guaranteed paid upgrade.
The case was closed without explanation, apology, or compensation. Later, when I tried to move my return flight from October 14 to October 12, I was asked to pay THB 17,100, even though the Economy Deluxe fare clearly stated "Free Change."
Ironically, a lower "Comfort" fare shows a maximum change fee of THB 12,350 — an obvious inconsistency. I submitted two more complaints ************** and **************), both closed without proper response.
Each time, Etihad's teams simply repeated that my "case had already been investigated," ignoring the core issues. In summary:
Etihad Airways sells services it does not deliver, takes no responsibility, and shuts down complaints without resolution.
After three closed cases and months of silence, I find this behavior unethical, misleading, and deeply disappointing.
We booked a ticket from South africa to Denmark. We changed the flight date then they canceled the ticket. Call centre extremely unhelpful and told us they can't book a new ticket until the investigation as to why they canceled it is complete. This means that I loose thousands as they canceled the ticket instead of changing it but won't give me a new ticket until they investigation. Why should I wait because they can't do their job? Useless. I would not fly this airline even if they gave me a free tickets for 10 years!
DONT waste your money on these. They gave me wrong information and ended loosing my ticket. Worthless service

First the check in unorganized. You book a seat online and you find that the land hostess give you another seat?, if you question it you get rolling eyes and unfriendly answer. When you try to complain to her manager he say, i will write the incidence, I asked him so you accept her rude behaviour he says i have no authority to force her to apologize to you. Wow so your staff can act the way they want! Later after waiting long time while flyig the chairs are too close to each other and so small you feel like you are trapped. The hostess who was taking care of our side was mask face no smile no anything. Then when she give you the food she throw it at you and talk in rude way, her name was camela, that was my flight travelling from india to abu dhabi. The worst trip ever. Its last time to use this airlines, Etihad airline hope the admin see this and treat the clients better so they do not run from your airlines
