Escrow.com is not good last 1 year specially. Before this company is really good. After they sold the company, everything getting bad. Customer support is terrible, not sorting out any issue... Now they want all customers, Buyers and Sellers passports, driving licence, bank statements... etc. To buy or sell anything...
Congratulations to escrow on the good reviews here at sitejabber. I encourage all who consider this service to read the Better Business reviews as they reveal some critical facts about how this company misbehaves. My personal experience was so bad I will avoid sending any money to them ever again.
This useless website getting $38 Extra for Instant payment., My client make payment first time and failed, he make again and failed(but payment debit on the card, they told 'The authorized funds will automatically drop back into your balance')., any finally make payment third time on Friday night., but their technical team won't work on weekends., so they only can secure payment by Monday., Mean while my client change his mind and cancel the transaction. What an excellent service. Stupid peoples. I'm stupid looser.
I have over thirty emails back and forth trying to do a simple domain name transfer. I dealt with 8-10 different people there. They don't communicate with each other and you get a different person with every contact. If there was ever a cluster $#^$ this is it. These people are flying by the seat of their pants. SO FRUSTRATING!
Rude and reactionary customer service reps. The supervisor was just as bad and had no customer service skills either. All they are taught to do is cover up for each other and make excuse after excuse, caring none whatsoever about giving service to the customer. I could not understand it because I used them in the past and they were good then. Voila! I discovered that they were purchased last year by another entity. NOW I KNOW TO AVOID THEM. The reputation that the original escrow.com built, these new owners have wrecked.
Never again!
I recently used their service. I had planned my transaction with one particular instruction, and despite talking to a number of agents and all of assuring otherwise, they precisely did the thing that I was trying to avoid. Its like having one job, promising to do it well, taking your money and then not doing it. Would never ever use them again in my life. I felt like calling them and giving them an earful, but then i thought what is the point. If a software company can't deliver on it customer service, it is doomed. They lost me as a customer, if all they wanted was quick money from one transaction, good luck to them - enjoy while it lasts.
They have a good system in place, but it took me 6 trails to get their so called authorization done, bad communicated on what they need, they keep changing their reasons, customer service was weak, turns out my payment is on hold (it was fully paid) because they needed me to call to verify my number! Didn't know and no communication sent. Overall, poor experience.
Hey Hussein, when verifying a customer's phone number, Escrow.com must be contacted from the registered phone number in the customer's account. This is sent in an email from our financial department to the customers who need to be verified. When Escrow.com is contacted, the number in profile must also be visible on caller ID so our representative can visually confirm that the number being used is the number in the profile. If a customer is unable to change the settings on their phone to display the number, then we do offer the ability to enter an alternative number in the profile. We also ask the customers to answer a few questions about their profile to complete this verification process. If you have any other questions about I'd be happy to help.
They took a week to verify the funds, despite me providing all requested proofs. That was through a verified Paypal account for $125! This resulted in me losing the deal with the other party. My many refund requests remained unanswered, and still, no refund has been processed this time. This looks like a big SCAM. Stay away from them.
They ruined my transaction and kept my money.
I have spent weeks trying to buy a web domain using Escrow.com as the intermediary for fund transfer and potentially their domain parking service. It is a process that should take only a few days, but i am now three weeks in, going back and forward, long delays in response times. And now 3 weeks in Escrow.com seems to have no record / memory of their dialogue with me. I don't know if it is new staff, or my history was erased, but I have spent ever more time writing to try to re-explain the history, but I am now treated as if I am making a first time enquiry. All very vague and unhelpful. I could not recommend Escrow.com for anything that you actually need to happen.
Neal (Neil?) at escrow has been with us every step of the way. We're grateful for his help in a process that can easily go off-track or otherwise get mixed up when two parties who don't know each other need a trusted middleman to get the process completed. Thanks Neal and the others (Jo) who helped us along the way.
I purchased a domain using Escrow.com. Their user interface is really lacking in some aspects. For example, I expected it to display the status of the transaction and update this information at every step. Instead it shows only some cryptic texts that are almost meaningless, lagging behind what is really happening. I had to reach out to customer service several times, via chat and email, in order to figure out what was happening. Their online guides are also of limited help. Nevertheless, the transaction was completed and I am satisfied with their services.
Sold a domain via Escrow.com. The transaction was quick and simple. I used the concierge service and was guided by Gab C. Who made the transfer process very easy. Thanks again Gab. Hope this is one of many more transactions for me.
Horrible experience. Ebay transaction was cancelled, I cannot get my funds back. Escrow.com claims that my bank must initiate as a "Chargeback" as the purchase was made with a debit card. But this Ebay purchase and then the vehicle sale not going through doesn't fit the criteria of a chargeback and escrow.com knows this. Escrow.com claims there is one other way to get your money back. For three weeks now, Escrow.com has kept my money and I am still working with my bank to receive the funds. I will never ever use Escrow.com again. It is redundant and unnecessary as a Bank Wire does the very same thing.
Escrow.com still does the hard work of escrow for domain names very well and the domain name holding option works. What doesn't work are their outdated and expensive disbursement options. When considering whether to use the DN Holding service as a seller, make sure you factor in the additional cost of transfers and finding a banking provider that Escrow.com approves of. Whether it's their systems/choice or the systems/choice of their banking partner to not accept TransferWise, Revolut or other legitimate banking organisations that offer low cost FX isn't clear. What is clear is that with the overall costs of receiving international wire transfers (USD to GBP in this case) once Escrow.com and the bank charges have been applied it cost $51 to receive the funds every month. So make sure your sales price factors in these costs.
So many steps to go through, not user friendly and takes to long to verify payment. Have a freelance website. Thought this payment would be ideal but it's not. System is putting bad taste into customer mouth
Whack Review team. Super poor communication. Zero continuity. Call and you will get an "agent" from overseas whose English is marginal and who knows nothing about your transaction and has no ability to do anything other than record your call. Call again and you'll get someone else. Over and over. Dealing with a cell phone company is a absolute delight compared to dealing with these people. They claim to have a office in San Francisco but dollars to donuts you'll never speak to anyone in the US. They hold the escrow and do almost nothing else. Zero. There is no opportunity to resolve any problems that might occur in a given transaction and if you are the buyer they will hold onto you/ or your clients funds for a VERY long time (months) before they will release it. It is truly like talking to a wall. You will never get a chance to speak to any "supervisor". Even written correspondence is not taken seriously or followed up upon. This is NOT a REAL ESCROW. Not even close.
I have used Escrow.com before, but my recent experience was awful. Because my translation was $3000, they required me to send them the article of incorporation for my business. I've owned my business for 28 years and never had to provide anyone other than my bank my articles. The entire process they are sending me through is ridiculous for using their service to buy a $3000 domain name. I sent numerous emails with no response to my questions. I will NEVER use them again.
I found Escrow.com's instalments payments mechanisms very cumbersome, so much so that we eventually just paid the balance out.
The fact that Escrow can't arrange a direct debit, that the transfer is at risk every month that an instalment is due, that each instalment has to be separately invoiced/paid, often leading to minor fx discrepancies are all factors that would discourage a potential buyer from proceeding down this path.

I sold my wedding dress through a website that recommended buyers/sellers use ESCROW.com. It has been a terrible prolonged experience. The buyer had to mail in a cashier check to ESCROW, rather than using a credit card. This added over 2 weeks to the transaction. After the sale closed, I never received a check. It is now a month later and I am dealing with an extremely rude and unhelpful customer device rep via email and I still haven't received my check. In the future I'll accept the risk of using PayPal.
Everything about dealing with this site has been problematic. Instead of working to produce a smooth transaction, they do all that they can to destroy relations between buyers and sellers. Their support staff finally admitted that they are located in Argentina, not the US - and they will not let you speak with the incompetents charged with verifying the ID of the parties to the transaction wherever in the world they might be. This site is expensive, disruptive, and customer hostile. Their offshore support increases the risk of identity abuse. My opinion... Stay away!
Answer: Hi David, we've processed just over $3 billion in transactions to date, with transactions from $100 all the way up to over $10,000,000. In addition to our regular licensing requirements, I hope you'll take a moment to look at the customer testimonials on www.escrow.com
Answer: Hi Janine! Thanks for reaching out! As the largest online licensed and audited escrow operator, Escrow.com is your best choice for domain transfer transactions. Escrow.com safely holds or secures the Buyer's payment in a trust account until the entire transaction is complete. That way, Buyers can be confident that the domain will be registered in their name and Sellers can be sure they'll be paid. We also have the concierge service for domain transfers without content where the Seller needs not to wait for the Buyer to confirm receipt and full control of the domain as Escrow.com will essentially take care of that inspection in your behalf. The Seller will only need to transfer the domain to one of our secured registrar accounts and we can release the funds to them. On the Buyer's side, they don't need the inspect period to verify the domain because we will do that for them. Our concierge team will work directly with the Seller to transfer the domain to us so there's no need for the Buyer to stress with follow-ups about the domain transfer. As soon as we secure the payment, the Buyer only needs to advise us where they want the domain to be transferred to and we will take care of the rest. Our dedicated concierge specialists will assist you every step of the way. Feel free to leave your contact details and best time to call as we are happy to discuss with you further should you have other questions. Thanks!
Answer: Hi Milly, I'm not sure I'm understanding your question exactly but Escrow.com only displays bank information on our site and never via email. Check to make sure any emails you are receiving came from@escrow.com.
Answer: Hi Doug, start by making an offer to the seller through the AutoTrader.ca's Secure Payment platform. Once the offer is accepted you can pay into the escrow account and then go to inspect the car. If everything is as expected you can release funds to the seller right there on the spot. Two quick tips: Always make sure emails about your transaction are coming from an@escrow.com email address, and make sure you log into Escrow.com to make sure you're sending funds to the correct account. Hope this helps!
Hey James, to comply and align with regulators, state and federal laws which require all banking and escrow companies to complete account verification of their customers. This is to make sure that the banking and escrow institutions are doing their part to counter money laundering, terrorism, and the funding of illegal activities and organizations. Again, this is a requirement for all companies stating they are proving banking are escrow services. If you have any other questions about verification or our services I'd be happy to help.
